I love Princess Superstar energy. She seems super cool with a great sense of humour. What the label did to her is f*cking wrong abd disrespectful. So kids, watch and learn,if you make music and believe in your talent,go and make your own record label. Be happy everyone 😃
Princess Superstar is an absolute gem, and her My Machine album is a lost classic that has a lot of great songs on it besides Perfect! I really hope the song's resurgence leads to a rediscovery of her and her album! 😎
Loved it when it was released but had completely forgotten about it until Saltburn. I play it every morning to get my daughter out of bed now and we have a dance to it 😅
It’s a shame most vocalists females on dance - house track …. Get farked over financially or in some other way …. That’s the only thing I dislike about house - dance music
Was there first time round...and loving its second roll round. It's such a perfect tune and makes you feel so good...and 20 years younger. Which were good times! Feeling good again. Especially with this tune absolutely bloody everywhere I go. Thanks Mason and Princess Superstar ❤
I don't know who originally put the acappella of Perfect on Exceeder, but I can give a little insight into how it probably came to be. Back in the early 2000s I did a few mashups that got played by Pete Tong and others on Radio 1, and from that I became known to a couple of people at Ministry of Sound who would occasionally solicit mashup/remix ideas from me (and presumably others) whenever they had a hit instrumental track that needed a vocal to give it commercial radio appeal. Probably much cheaper than hiring a writer and singer, and mashups had much more cred. Exceeder was one such track, and I duly submitted a couple of mashups. I forget what they were, but they didn't use them (one was not commercial enough for them, I think the other had already been used on something else recently). The funny thing is... I actually had the Perfect acapella. And I actually tried it out. But I didn't think it would be what they were looking for, so I never sent it! You can imagine how dumb I felt when I heard it on the radio a few months later.
I was big into mash-ups during that time. The search was the fun part. They could be hits or misses but what a wonderful time! Creativity was flowing as more and more people got their hands on audio apps and "free" share music.
I am lucky to say that at that time this record blowed up, i was a resident at a very nice night Club at this time im Cologne GER where i was able to blow up the dance floor 2 times a week with this banger.. such an amazing time, i really love to remember ❤
I have this song on my playlist. I have loved dance since I moved to Spain. I listen to the old school stuff because somehow after 2012 or 2013, dance music is either hit or miss for me. So, i have a playlist of almost I listened to from before 2012. I only saw the trailer to Saltburn. Never saw the film. But, it's cool that this song and "Murder on the Dancefloor" is getting recognition again. That really was dirty of MoS to sideline Princess Superstar from the music video and the tour. I get wanting to sell records, but do it some integrity.
Being 18 when I first saw this video, I know why people loved it :D But over the years I've been curious about "who is this Princess Superstar really?", Nice to see an interview finally!
The Ministry of Sound is Pure Evil. They stole Daft Punks music 🎵 as well. I know your situation was different but still wild they didn't ask you anything and did things without you. But I am happy for you both 💘
David Guetta: "One day, i remember, i'm on my scooter, in Paris, and i see on a different scooter i see Falcon and Thomas [Bangalter] and i'm like HEY GUYS i mean like by accident on a red light i'm like ARE YOU AWARE THAT YOUR RECORD IS NUMBER ONE IN THE UK RIGHT NOW? and Thomas like WHAT??? yeah YOU REMEMBER I TOLD YOU IT WAS A HIT?" :D
what a story ,this just won't happen anymore. Think about it,one had a perfect beat, one had a perfect rhyme, one put it together, and nobody takes credit. And dude Princess Superstar is the shit, girl was like fuck it that video is dope, pay me,respect.
I'd rather hear the story of the DJs made these mash-ups together back in the day and never got the credit. Love Story (vs. Finally) is another one. My personal fav the PVD vs Rachel McFarlane Lover mash-up which was massive in the North but PVD hated it and it never got released.
The vibe that you have created is wild! It's endless happiness. Rappers and rockers who say they don't like this song because of principles(?)--I don't believe them. They're clowns, man! They should try to smile more. No, seriously! It will be OK. Don't be scared! do it do it
Would love to see her reshoot the video for her song. I'm disappointed to see the old one so front and center in this piece and not more of her insread.
And her original MV is only available in garbage quality. It would be nice for her to look around her archive whether she can find... anything we can deinterlace it clean it up just a little and gently upscale just to give video compression more room to breathe. I'm currently doing my best to restore (and try to not ruin) the music video for Tiga's Far from Home directed by the late Nagi Noda. Found an MPEG2 TS snippet which was digitised from Betacam, which i know is so weird for a 2006 MV but i can deal with the garbage introduced by these two conversions, much better than the completely broken deinterlace that is the official upload. I'm not a pro in any related area (well i did some MPEG encoder optimisation in 2004, MPEG decoder programming recently, JPEG2000 optimisation and bug fixing throughout the years), so mostly using it as an opportunity to learn :D I became curious about Nagi Noda after seeing "Mariko Takahashi's Fitness Video for Being Appraised as an Ex-fat Girl", released by Panasonic in 2004, and if you haven't seen that, it's something :D
did this song become hype again or something? i mean i listen to it like every years when im to drunk and we relive our favorite music :) ow i mean i know david did a new mix of it buy still
I gotta be honest... the original Princess Superstars' Perfect song doesn't sound that good... you might as well considered it's mashup with Mason's Exceeder was the one that's original

Thanks on the nice words guys 💙
Still listen to your stuff after all these years ❤❤❤
You’re a legend bro ❤❤❤
The instrumental is amazing. Was never keen on the mash up.
It's an all-timer mate, I never get sick of it (vox or no vox). Glad to see it get another deserved bump this year.
Honored to be a part of this!
I heard the 1991 drum and bass remix at EDC this weekend and the crowd went absolutely bananas!! So sooooo good!
Not sure if PS or any of her fans are familiar with Big Wett, but she strikes me as the spiritual successor (albeit a little filthier).
The classic. Cheesy yet still addictive and gets the crowd going.
What a great time for dance music
The mid 2000s electro house period coincided beautifully with the golden era of summer festivals in Australia. Awesome time to ne partying

This song is "perfection"! Brought me out of Old age boredom. Love love love you guys.
I gotta admit
It feels great when the songs from a LOOONNNG time ago comes back to chart! Thanks, guys!
Brazil 09.2024 é esse hit é Apocalíptico! Atinge todooooos amo!!!

My Machine is incredible!
Loved it when it was released but had completely forgotten about it until Saltburn. I play it every morning to get my daughter out of bed now and we have a dance to it 😅
One of the best dance tracks from the 2000s 🔥
It’s a shame most vocalists females on dance - house track …. Get farked over financially or in some other way …. That’s the only thing I dislike about house - dance music
Happy for both them enjoying so much success, they seem like sweethearts
When the song you've been listening to for years suddenly blows up. I'm happy for them though. :)

And the industry learned nothing from the Milli Vanilli and Martha Wash/Black Box scandals. It's very unfair to have others lip-syncing your work.
Lolletta Holloway not Martha wash.

Love this series
More to come!
This track blew up hard when it first came out.
Yeah the video was like ‘perfect’. Iconic song LOVE ITTTTTTT’ boom!! 🏆🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Saltburn also featured Tomcraft's Loneliness which didn't really get any recognition. A pity because the song actually captured the movie pretty well.
@@dvdcase56 Wow! I really should watch the movie then. I love the dance tracks.
Still banging!🔊🤯🤩🔥🔥🔥
Being 18 when I first saw this video, I know why people loved it :D But over the years I've been curious about "who is this Princess Superstar really?", Nice to see an interview finally!
these videos are all so great!
Thanks so much!

Legendary sound right there, well done.

You also need to give props to whoever made one of the most horny music videos of all time.
Great insights on a stone cold classic !
Glad you enjoyed it!
Tune ❤❤❤
Awesome
Only pros know Exceeder from Wipeout HD Fury…
pros hear it live before it goes commercial bro.
she is so good.
Can y’all remake the video ?!

Ministry of Sound also completely took over Eric Prydz's Call on Me video. Also a reason why he hates that song.
He didn’t even make the song either, MOS just gave him credit for it, look up the video on TH-cam that explains the history of it.
Very cool
Hamdi!!!
did this song become hype again or something?
i mean i listen to it like every years when im to drunk and we relive our favorite music :)
ow i mean i know david did a new mix of it buy still
You see what i can do with this microphone??
Should also mention the dnb Remix of this tune
The story about how they totally screwed her over really shocked me
❤
I really thought those girls were Princess Superstar when it was released
Wipeout brought me here
So he didn't talk about how actually got the sound. 🤷🏻♂️
James Hype brought me here.
Ministry of Sound is the dirtiest label ever in EDM. So many shitty stories of taking advantage of artists.
I gotta be honest... the original Princess Superstars' Perfect song doesn't sound that good... you might as well considered it's mashup with Mason's Exceeder was the one that's original
Wow Ministry of sound was such a shitshow 😮😮😮
The beat will live on and she wont...the track never needed lyrics.
