That Vogue 8287! GASP! That is so lovely. I think I need it. I bought an outfit very similar 17 years ago to be in a very good friend's wedding party. Needless to say it doesn't fit any more and i keep fooling myself that I can make it fit...but those dang child bearing hips! I'll put it on my list right away.
Hey, those child bearing hips helped create walking, talking miracles!! I still haven’t made that pattern, though I haven’t used the fabrics for anything else. Maybe someday...😄

The Connie Crawford top is so pretty on you--do many nice details, but it is certainly short! 😁You did a great job fitting the pants as well. It's such a cool design, and that's awesome that you could get it to work for you! The nightgown is such a cute pattern! I agree that the longer ruffle is better. Go big or go home, right? And definitely pajamas are a place where you can get away with a little more fun. I swear I've made that same type of accidental nightgown with cheap rayon knit before too. I like your nitie and what is most important is that you like it and that it is comfortable. Suggest you recycle, donate or toss garments you do not like and treat yourself by making things that you love and which makes you feel good while wearing them.. As sewists, we are much too hard on ourselves and feel guilty about "getting rid of" things that often make us cringe. How many men do you know wear clothing that they do not like? I love a trouser that has extra detail at the bottom. Trousers can be so boring can't they 👍. Love your channel and the night gowns. I make my gowns, from a Tilly and the Buttons - Coco Dress (tweaked on course). I simply lengthen and use light weight knit for summer, then heavier weight knit for winter. I also make them as gifts. They are perfect.

Cute nightgowns. I actually wear pjs... mostly pj pants (around the house, but not to bed) and a short tee shirt. Don't like all that fabric around my legs and feet when I sleep. Can't turn.. lol. Thanks for the pattern reviews. I also think those pants with the ties are so cut but, might get frustrated with all the adjustments needed. At least, I'm fore warned. CU. Lynn
Hi Lynn, I totally get you on the fabric around the legs ordeal with full nightgowns! I sort of have to arrange myself in bed, lol. I don’t turn much in my sleep, good thing. The Kathryn Brenne Vogue pants are such fun. You might have better luck with them straight out of the envelope. I had to keep tweaking them and they’re still not quite right, but I love the design features. Thanks for your comments😃
I like the more unusual vogue patterns too. I'm planning to make V9108 & V8813. If your vogue pants pattern is described as "loose fitting" then there will be 8+" of ease designed into the pattern, that's a LOT! Darling nightgown and nice hacks. LOL, beware of talking about yourself a s being old, old, old. Some of us are older than you and age is only what we make of it. Yes, our bodies change but our essence and minds don't.

My Pajama Theory: Last year I turned 70 and retired from a job I loved. Knowing I'd be sleeping in and just lounging around the house a lot, I decided that if I wore pajamas that looked like clothes, I'd never have to get dressed ! So, I have dark, loose pj bottoms and wear a tee shirt as the top. I can answer the door without being embarrassed!

Patricia Viglione Hi Patricia, if you have a pattern to follow I would consult the layout and see what they advise. What are you sewing? Normally I would fold the fabric right sides together, place and pin the pattern pieces but pat out the fabric carefully before pinning to make sure it is flat underneath. Another option is to cut single layer if that simplifies the smoothing out. Hope this helps! Thank you for watching & commenting.😃

Cute nightgowns. I actually wear pjs... mostly pj pants (around the house, but not to bed) and a short tee shirt. Don't like all that fabric around my legs and feet when I sleep. Can't turn.. lol. Thanks for the pattern reviews. I also think those pants with the ties are so cut but, might get frustrated with all the adjustments needed. At least, I'm fore warned. CU. Lynn
Hi Lynn, I totally get you on the fabric around the legs ordeal with full nightgowns! I sort of have to arrange myself in bed, lol. I don’t turn much in my sleep, good thing. The Kathryn Brenne Vogue pants are such fun. You might have better luck with them straight out of the envelope. I had to keep tweaking them and they’re still not quite right, but I love the design features. Thanks for your comments😃

I like the more unusual vogue patterns too. I'm planning to make V9108 & V8813. If your vogue pants pattern is described as "loose fitting" then there will be 8+" of ease designed into the pattern, that's a LOT!

Happy to hear that you'll be sewing the Vogues. The pants are described as loose fitting indeed. Maybe even "very loose," I can't recall. They're some of my favorite pants to wear. My Pajama Theory: Last year I turned 70 and retired from a job I loved. Knowing I'd be sleeping in and just lounging around the house a lot, I decided that if I wore pajamas that looked like clothes, I'd never have to get dressed ! So, I have dark, loose pj bottoms and wear a tee shirt as the top. I can answer the door without being embarrassed!

Patricia Viglione Hi Patricia, if you have a pattern to follow I would consult the layout and see what they advise. What are you sewing? Normally I would fold the fabric right sides together, place and pin the pattern pieces but pat out the fabric carefully before pinning to make sure it is flat underneath. Another option is to cut single layer if that simplifies the smoothing out. Hope this helps! Thank you for watching & commenting.😃
