It’s also one of the BEST foundations for mixing!! I swear, it works great with everything!!! But the best combo ever is this one with the Nars Soft Matte. It bumps it up to FULL coverage , but still looks like skin. And it makes the skin look even more smooth and poreless and lasts even longer. For my wedding, I mixed these 2 foundations + a spritz of setting spray before applying… BEAUTIFUL coverage and finish !!!

I use it almost every day and I love it. I had trouble finding a concealer I liked with it until I tried the NYX one. Thank you for your videos. I use so many of the suggestions you give and your community gives. Such a wonderful group of people. ❤️

This is also my holy grail foundation!! my tip to use it is to apply it like a moisturiser, warm it between your palms and just smooth it on, it gives you the most surreal glow and its TRULY BLURRING!!

How do you apply it? I can’t get it to stop sinking into my fine lines and looks like tiny pinholes all over my face - like every single pore is visible and gives me wrinkles I didn’t know I had

    • @jenfandrey1528
      @jenfandrey1528 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@crystaldingman773 I use a foundation brush from BK beauty. I also prep my skin by using the vitamin enriched face base from Bobbi brown. I don’t have enlarged pores but I do have some fine lines. I don’t notice much settling.

So funny Allie, I'm SOOOO trying to use up all the foundations that are taking up the room in my foundation drawer, so I've been waaaaay out of the loop on the latest Nars foundation. I'm going to try to avoid picking this up till I knock off a few other bottles, but this sounds like a #1 for sure, and I see from other comments that many agree! So glad that you shared this in-depth look🌺🙏❤🌻

Angela Adlish, consider donating your gently used makeup to women's shelters. Many of them will accept used make up. Other organizations will also take them, do some research. Or give them away to friends, family, or for free on craigslist, facebook marketplace, nextdoor.

I just got this foundation a few weeks ago for my birthday and I've really enjoyed it! I got it because I noticed how much you've been using it. I love the finish and how you can't go over board with it. I will say that when you are outside and doing a lot of running around it doesn't last as long. It also gets pretty dewy on me too. I'm not sure if it's because of the skincare in the product. But overall I do think it's worth the money.

It truly is the BEST foundation out there I usually hate wearing foundation and can’t wait until the end of the day to take it off this is the first foundation I have ever found that feels like you are not wearing anything at all yet it makes your skin look gorgeous I also use the new Nars powder with it which is insanely good sets without a trace of powder look on your face no idea what magic is in the new Nars products but it’s now the only thing I will be purchasing it is soooo amazing. I have dry sensitive skin so I use the Laura mercier hydrating primer underneath along with my hydrating skin care otherwise the foundation will cling to my dry patches just a tip if you have dry skin like me 💖

Hey Allie!! Thank you so much for this video. I’m not too much of a foundation gal as my skin type is more dry, and prone to acne and rosacea. So I have a hard time finding something that doesn’t break me out, give me flare ups or is just way too drying. I’ve been doing a ton of research as I want something for night outs or just help even my skin out and I think you’ve sold me to at least give this one a try. It looks absolutely beautiful on your skin. I love your videos! Your absolutely beautiful!

Hi Allie, This foundation always look skin like when you use it. If I did not see you apply it I would never know you had it on. • @Ghost084

I'm actually so glad you posted this allie! I have a horrid time with foundations as well as shades because I'm so pale with what I call 'bad neutral' undertones, meaning instead of looking good in silver and gold I can only do silver, but warmer eyeshadow looks better on me and I cant wear light colors and especially light blues/green and yellow/orange. Basically none of the "neutral" undertone signs apply but cool tones are too pink on me and in most lights it's really easy to look yellow, and some neutral tones foundations still pull yellow on me. I finally started looking at nars because I have yet to see anyone have a bad review of their foundations across a whole range of skin types and tones. I used their match tool based on my closest matching other foundations and was surprised that Oslo L1.5 came up, but I think I'm also going to try Mont blanc because on camera you seem to have a very similar skin tone to me. My only hold up all this time has been that I'm trying to make as much of my makeup and skin care routines 100% cruelty free and nars isnt since they're owned by shiseido and sell in countries that require animal testing either of the ingredients themselves or of the product once it arrives in their markets and such. But with something as challenging for me as foundation I'm willing to let that slide and accept that in the US and the bulk of countries the nars sub brand itself tries to be cruelty free.

I tried it, and it did nothing for my 61 year old, dry-ish skin. I tried it with and without primer, and with 3 different sunscreens. I tried it with a brush, with fingers, and with a sponge. My pores showed and looked awful no matter how much or how little I used.
    I finally threw it away.
My current go-to is No. 1 de Chanel.

I love this foundation as well! Never found one that looks so good on me. However it oxidises and looks a bit too shiny on me after a couple of hours. Still better than other foundations. So keep that in mind: order a schade that is slightly lighter, don't use too glossy skincare before and use a mattifying powder. If anyone is reading this: can you maybe recommend a good mattifying primer for dry skin and a good flawless setting powder, that gives a matt finish for a long time?

*unrelated comment* How can you minimalize sweating ?? Like after I cleanse , do my astringent/toner then go for my serum/ moisturizer/SPF (which before doing my primer I let all the layers dry first ) so after i do my primer and while i let it dry I notice even before its done drying my T-Zone is already starting to sweat (my skin is combo more to the oily side especially in the T-Zone every where else is basically normal) so by the time i finish my make up it starts sweating really bad which if I'm off of work its not that bad but if im at work its really bad . any suggestions? Also thank you for the recommendation I will be checking into it . A foundation I really love lately is by the brand called Flower I think Drew Barrymore was the spokes person for them they have perfumes too it's called light illusion luminous makeup and nude skin feel I think it was like 12 bucks at Wal-Mart .

If not Allie, is there anyone who can give me advice on this? 😓
I have bought this foundation right after it came out especially when everyone was raving about it.
I loved it the first 2 times I wore it, but after my skin did not work with it. No matter what I use (finger, sponge, brush) it just does not blend into the skin, only stays on the surface and I can easily just wipe it away. I tried to use less or more. Tried with different primers and without primer. Nothing works. I don’t normally set my face with powder, but I tried that too, that was even worse!
I find that in the first hour wearing it, the foundation looks pretty nice, and after, it starts to fully separate on my face.
I am so sad. Did anyone have the same problem and maybe was able to figure it out?
    Thank you🌸

What skincare are you using? You know you’re a makeup junky when you can tell the brand and exact product on a blurred picture. I wanted to get a sample of this but when I told the person at Sephora helping me that my favorite is Bobbi Brown serum foundation she said this was similar but a TAD bit drier, so I probably wouldn’t like it as much - and BB one has dimethicone up high in the ingredients, and I wonder if that helps it from sinking into my lines. It’s weird but Bobbi Brown’s skin foundation is a little more liquidy but my crease line on my chin is more noticeable to me when I wear it. I hate when I ask for a sample and they tell me I’d like something else better, because people love this foundation.

I couldn't agree more! Fantastic foundation! I LOVE IT! I am 72 with fairly dry skin. I think it's more normal than dry though. I am a foundation junkie. I have tried every brand you can mention and I continually go back to the Nars Light Reflecting foundation. My shade is Patagonia. My pump broke this past week. It must be common because other influencers have mentioned problems with it. Maybe Nars will work on correcting that.

It is so beautiful and brings my complexion to life. I love that I only need to use a small amount of it. The only thing I don't like about it is it is messy at the cap! Same issue you pointed out. A Sephora employee told me the NARS is just the tiniest bit drier, which might work better for you - BB isn’t greasy on me and I have acne prone oily/combination skin but anything that has the slightest matte finish literally pulls my face down like it’s rubber cement (the worst I’ve ever tried that did this was NARS Sheerglow). I live in a dry climate so I’m not sure if I would feel the same in a humid climate, just for reference.

I was actually completely with you on this Nars foundation being the best I've ever tried but then I started using it more often an all of a sudden my super dry skin started to work against it! I gives me dry patches and unevenness all over and it's making me SO sad!!! Foundations do tend to do this however sometimes, I have very dry skin with mild eczema so sometimes I'll find a foundation and I'll love it more then any other and then I use it some more and it starts looking bad on me, which is such a disappointment. My skin has been acting up in the Austin heat lately but I am going back to my home country of Iceland so I'm going to see how it wears after my skin has gotten used to it's usual environment again. I will not give up on this foundation just yet!!! I have been using the
Futurist Hydra Rescue Moisturizing Foundation SPF 45 from Estée Lauder and I friggin LOVE it!!! It's so beautiful and agrees so well with my dry skin PLUS it has SPF which I think the Nars one is missing. But I am also a foundation fanatic and I'll always love testing out new ones. Hey Allie! I'm 62 years old with lines, crevices, dry-to-normal skin, hyperpigmentation, age spots, moody rosacea with weird texture and silvery scars from removal of BCCs, BareMinerals OG Original loose mineral powder is it! For 20 years now! It works over any moisturizer, primer, BB or CC cream, tinted sunBLOCK, self tanner, anything I've thrown at it. The coverage is easy to moderate depending on what's under it and which brush you use. I've had many women tell me my skin looks great. I use two adjoining shades, one in the original semi-dewy finish, the other in matte. You do have to spend time buffing it, and you do have to use good quality brushes. Oh, and sweat doesn't seem to bother it, even though I don't use setting spray. Sometimes I walk through a light mist cloud of plain rosewater spray with it on. And I work outdoors all day In Southern California's abundant sun and smog. BareMinerals is it!

I love this NARS foundation as well. Especially because it lasts a long time. Pretty much anyone could justify the price because you only need a very small amount, it is so pigmented. I have to say though, I get the exact same look when I mix my Dollar General 5$ Believe beauty foundation in with the Fresh brand Rose Deep Hydration face cream moisturizer before applying it to my face. I mix it together with my finger on the back of my hand then apply it with my brush. After I apply my foundation and concealer with my brush I bounce over everything with my beauty blender. I wet it in the sink then squeeze it out with a dry bath cloth. Then I spray the butt of it with Catrice Prime and Fine dewy glow fixing spray. I love to bounce over every single one of my foundations and concealers this way. Especially if I set everything with powder. It just gives every single foundation, concealer and powder combo a glow that isn't greasy at all, but looks like skin. Another foundation I'm hooked on is the Loreal True Match Lumi.
Last time I ran into Walmart to repurchase the Lumi I grabbed the wrong shade. It is literally 3 shades darker than my face. Florescent lighting can really throw you off big time. Especially during the Summer when your eyes have to adjust from the natural bright sunlight to the Florescent lighting in a store. Anyway, they didn't have my usual color so I just grabbed what I thought would be closest. I messed up big time. So.... since I don't ever return any makeup products. I thought, " Is there any way I can lighten this and make it work?" I remembered buying the Loreal Full Wear more than concealer in the shade Ivory 330. It is way too light for me so I decided to try mixing the too dark Lumi with the too light Infallible full wear concealer and y'all..... the combo is so gorgeous. It instantly erased my regrets and I started questioning if I should start buying the 2 this way on purpose 😅. If any of you are like me, you definitely have at least one concealer that is too light. Ordering online can also be a huge pain when trying to choose the right shade. So most makeup lovers have a concealer that's too light. Don't worry, at some point you will likely have a foundation that's too dark. I'm not saying every combination of formulas will work together, but the Lumi and the Infallible full wear literally make the PERFECT combination effect. It's skin like, super thin, but full coverage. It's glowy to the eyes, but doesn't have to be set with a powder. It couldn't work any better together. I work a regular full time job, so like most people, I don't have time to be too fussy with my makeup before work. It only takes about 10 extra seconds for me to mix 1 pump of Lumi and one small dollop of the Fresh Wear concealer together then get it on my face. So it is worth that 10 seconds for certain. I just can't explain how beautiful that combo works together. Anyway, happy makeuping to everyone! 😊

I never throw makeup fails away, I invariably find a way to make products work later on somehow.
As you said, not all formulas mix well together, but when they do you may have a dream combo on your hands!
I mix foundation, concealer, gold or pearlescent highlighters, liquid bronzer, sooo much fun. I store any excess mixed product in an airtight container (old loose powder pot) for use the next day.
Take care & big hugs 🥰😘
