On my JVC fire TV if you are in the Live TV section, simply press the home key and it takes you to the fire TV home screen. Then go to the settings etc. If developer options is not showing there are lot of videos showing you what to do, it's as simple as clicking several times on a setting to become a developer. Hope this is of some use for you.

I don't understand why they want that, but hey, it's their product, and they can do what they wish, but I don't have to buy from them and I won't. There are a lot of good streaming devices on the market.

The first menu at the bottom of the screen I knew. I found that by accident when setting up my new 4k max stick. The home button is an obvious one.

Take it back. Get a Firestick or Fire Cube.
