    Great idea: do one hose at a time on the new one to make sure you hook it up right! Thanks for that one!

    He forgot to mention replacing the TCV is a total bitch cause you can't hardly get your hands in there none the less pliers for the clamps. Don't act like it was a piece if cake!

    Thanks I relocated my tcv the bottom line was extremely hard to reach but I did it .. what a pain. Worth it though with the turbo smart Wastegate upgrade/ TCV upgrade

    so why is the tcv located so close to the turbo in stock form? along with shorter lines?

      Most non-performance turbo cars will mount the TCV pretty close to the turbo. Less wiring and less hose is a huge cost savings over the production run of a vehicle. But when you start running higher boost, you're making a lot more heat, so anything near the turbo can become damaged. I'm sure replacing the TCV in the same location would have been fine for about 50k miles, but it's not hard to relocated it further away from the turbo.

    Great video! Just wondering what kind of the front struct do you use, especially with the lowering springs.

      Do you mean for jacking up the car? Depending what I'm working on, either jack stands or ramps. I have a low profile jack for getting under the lowered cars and I have pretty low ramps that work for the V50 as well. The C30 has a 3.5" drop and doesn't fit on the ramps.

    Please where did you tap the power and signal from?, Mine was cut out

    • @MyNameIdeasWereTaken
      @MyNameIdeasWereTaken  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This comes off the ECU and the signal is part of the canbus system. If it was cut, you'll need to rewire it from the ECU.

    What is the length required for the new house to relocate the valve?

    • @MyNameIdeasWereTaken
      @MyNameIdeasWereTaken  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You only need about 12" but buy a few feet so that you have plenty of extra. It's a good idea to replace all the associated vacuum lines while you're in there.

    Great video ;) TCV IPD or Autotech?

    • @MyNameIdeasWereTaken
      @MyNameIdeasWereTaken  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Only go with an OEM Pierburg. It can handle up to K16 boost without a problem and will not have any of the tuning issues that all aftermarket TCVs have.

      @filippofiorito2494 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this problem, but with Autotech there should not be this problem
