Depression, panic attacks, generalized anxiety, they all got worse as my dysautonomia symptoms worsened, as I was constantly getting injured despite being highly athletic, and the majority of those injuries were while I was not doing sports. I was called unobservant and ditzy because of my lack of coordination without focusing on my coordination. I posted one day about a silly story about my shoulder feeling like it was out of place, and a nurse from Cali was able to tell me what I have just based on that information and the casual complaints about symptoms I'd throw out here and there over the last couple years. Since then I've had countless doctors at ERs and the like dismiss and disregard me because of some stupid preconceived notions, and that got bad enough to have a hospital try to kill me after I switched to MMJ to avoid opioid use. The hospital pumped me full of what should have been a lethal dose of dilaudid, and tried applying a fentanyl patch while I was still on the pump. The police had to come by three times telling them to release me instead and I only got out when they found out we were recording the doctors in my room (legal in our state, we were careful to be HIPPA compliant). Mind you, I attempted to get to my wheelchair multiple times, but was too heavily drugged to get there without help. They wouldn't detach me from the opioid pump even after they had to put me on room oxygen, though their records fail to mention why they put me on room oxygen, just that my boyfriend had been making a fuss about me not breathing, with wording to make it sound like a lie since he needed to check my SpO2 on our own (highly accurate) finger pulse oximeter where I was registering an 80. Conveniently they failed to mention they had the same reading prior to them putting me on room oxygen and retaking my SpO2. Yes, I'm suing this hospital. It's been taking a few months because they're a megalith corporation in the area and I was having a hard time finding someone to actually look at the case, but we're finally making progress and have some lawyers that aren't scared of the unconstitutional protections the doctor received in this case (NYS law made his false imprisonment of me a malpractice case rather than criminal despite the clear desire I had to leave the care of the hospital and the multiple times the officers had to instruct the hospital to allow me to leave. (There were no psychiatric holds on me, no 5150, and they failed to report their eval and my extended stay to the authorities who would have normally prevented this abuse.) A LOT of doctors are trash. In fact, I would say the majority are. It took a lot of people keeping quiet about violations in regulations to keep me in that hospital, but you need to remember not all doctors are this way. Even the doctor that admitted me into the hospital from the ER had requested for me a ketamine treatment because her daughter also has EDS and Ketamine is one of the very few effective painkillers for EDS, at least when taken intravenously during severe breakout pain. That set me ahead on the road to recovery, as we were able to pool money from friends and family and afford a ketamine treatment afterwards, which allowed me to at least become semi-functional again.
