Great interview, always a joy to hear Frank talk, he talks so candidly which is always refreshing to hear, wishing him and Kino continued success in 2025
Kino Lorber has come a long way. They are actually one of my favorite boutique labels. Just the fact that they are releasing so many 80s comedies is exciting.
Great interview Love Kino Lorber's steady and varied output. Been collecting for years and I always look forward to their upcoming titles. Hope to see more TV movie classics from the 70s. Like Crowhaven Farm and the one with Ruth Gordon and the kid from Poltergeist. Ok, I love my 70s TV horror!
Awesome interesting they releasing inside man on 4k finally about time. It was really awesome movie, since I just saw it on dvd rented from Hollywood video. Also i'm excited about older films come out as for soon.
Good stuff as always. Thanks for asking my B&N question. I guess I was never there for the quarterly sale (or forgot), but I’m glad it will continue. I’ll keep a better eye out.
Love this. Still watching this, but would love it if K-L would do one of my grails, Fool's Parade with Jimmy Stewart and George Kennedy. It's a Sony/Columbia title. TCM has run an HD version on their channel.
This went from a really good interview to a great one when Frank started talking about his favorite movies. I can relate. Marnie is one of my favorite Hitchcock movies. Contempt is my favorite Goddard. Jules and Jim is my favorite Truffaut. Nights of Cabiria is my favorite Fellini. I am not sure how Frank will feel about this, but my favorite spaghetti Western is one Kino released-The Hills Run Red. Navajo Joe is also in my top ten.
Enjoying Kino's release of CLASSIC GHOSTS. Kind of hit-and-miss as far as the stories go, but great seeing some terrific, talented actors doing gothic-styled, moody ghost tales. Good, clean late-night fun!
Always enjoy your discussions with Frank Tarzi. His encyclopedic knowledge of movies is amazing! I could listen to him discuss his personal faves and why, forever! Sorry to hear that the Fleischer Collection didn't make the cut. The physical media business is as close to playing roulette in Vegas as it gets! Looking forward to seeing 'Shane' on 4K sometime next year!
Dude needs to have a suggestions email. Maybe he intends to release titles people want but he should be open to being reminded what is top of people’s wishlists.
really enjoyed the back half of the show when you guys started discussing the strongest movies from different directors. I haven't seen any Hill and Spencer comedy yet so might take a chance on Crime Busters
Glad to hear Shane will be coming out some time next year. I've been holding out to watch it for the first time. Sad to hear that we may never see the restored Roy Rogers films. Kino is probably the only label who would do it.
I agree with tarzi on north by northwest is also my favorite hitchcock dont think we should be worried on kino going away from 40s-60s films thats how they have most impressed titles like the oscar fitzwilly village of the giants art of love etc.. but i agree please keep putting out these somewhat more obscure films lots of studious put out 80s and newer, but heath is right we got to keep supporting these releases..
You got to bring Tarzi back to just talk movies. The last 20 minutes or so of this movie were gold! It shows why KL is so great. Because it's run by people who really love films. And I loved all his hot takes. I must admit Aldrich is a really hard director to picture a favorite. PHOENIX is great ... but then you got BABY JANE and DIRTY DOZEN. And then you also have less well-known stuff like THE BIG KNIFE or a late career wonder like THE CHOIRBOYS or a crowd pleaser like THE LONGEST YARD. Aldrich isn't as much in the conversation as he should be. He has an amazing filmography.
So bummed to hear about the Fleischer titles. I was really hoping KL would get involved. Love the 30's-60's films especially but there is great stuff in all the decades! Thanks Heath, Frank you are a prince!
The physical media ecosystem needs to witness a release of one of the seminal American films of the 60’s: Richard Lester’s “Petulia.” Never been released on blu-ray, and has aired on both TCM and the Criterion Channel in a beautiful restored print. Seems like there might be some hoops to jump through, due to the WB/Seven Arts deal. Seven Men From Now is another gem being held up by a rights snafu. Meanwhile, it seems like every schlock crapfest from the 80’s is seeing the light of day, and on 4K no less. I shouldn’t complain too much, though, physical media would be DEAD without ardent devotees of the 70’s/80’s horror/sci-fi genres. Fact!
FRANK TARZI is a great guy and Real ... now about the AIP 1957 sci fi / horror classics should be on blu ray kino cult line... like TEENAGE WEREWOLF, TEENAGE FRANKENSTEIN uncut, INVASION OF THE SAUCER-MEN, IT CONQUERED THE WORLD, AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN because it is really a sin that they were ONLY on super 8mm and VHS. FRANK you should revamp the talk with susan hart and mention to her and her son ,there are so many bootlegs are sold on ebay and on youtube of these great titles. and you will be doing a great service to the fans that love these lost titles . so susan hart have a big heart and share the films with the fan . and kino will be the studio to do these titles right. please don't wait on this or the films will fall threw the cracks. thank you
GREAT discussion. I was sorry to hear about the cancellation of MR. BUG GOES TO TOWN, but if it's heavily DVNR'd, it's understandable. I enjoyed the freewheeling discussion at the end, even if I don't agree with everything Frank says. (For example, I just saw a theatrical presentation of REAR WINDOW, and I don't find it dated at all. Great, great film and one of my favorite, top 5 Hitchcock films.) I would also suggest Reynolds has been in a lot of bad, even godawful movies. Especially his output from the mid-80's forward. .
Never said anything about Scars of Dracula 4KUHD Disc that is coming. ? When ??? .... KL has a New deal with Studio Canal, Great !! .... Will they be releasing any more Hammer Films in 4K ? Horror of Frankenstein, Lust for a Vampire, Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde, Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell, or Captain Kronos ?? It is being released on 4K soon in UK. Any more Universal Tony Curtis movies coming in 2025 ?? .....Champion (1949) the Olive Films version needs a New Restoration. The Best Boxing movie ever ! Rio Grande, and The Quiet Man on 4KUHD would be Great too ! 😁
So when is a U.S. distributor going to release some of the best Terrence Hill and Bud Spencer films? And for my tastes, MY NAME IS NOBODY ranks up there with the original dollars trilogy.

The annual TARZI SUMMIT. THANK YOU HEATH!!!!!
Pumped up for The Inside Man. And I agree 100% with Frank, Open Range needs more love. Cmon, Kino release a 4K for this great western.
thanks for asking about SHANE, been holding my breath for that one, and now can look forward to May
Great interview, always a joy to hear Frank talk, he talks so candidly which is always refreshing to hear, wishing him and Kino continued success in 2025
Kino Lorber has come a long way. They are actually one of my favorite boutique labels. Just the fact that they are releasing so many 80s comedies is exciting.
Im more impressed with the obscure 50s and 60s titles they have released. Many people have been waiting decades for..
Wish Kino would release some the remaining NBC Mystery Movie episodes such as Cool Million or McCoy as examples
Yes! We need to produce disc in the USA. We need to gain that back.
So much respect for kino, their work with the 3-D film archive has been incredible
Great interview, thanks Heath. And thanks for asking some of our questions too.
Great interview
Love Kino Lorber's steady and varied output. Been collecting for years and I always look forward to their upcoming titles.
Hope to see more TV movie classics from the 70s. Like Crowhaven Farm and the one with Ruth Gordon and the kid from Poltergeist.
Ok, I love my 70s TV horror!
Heath, great interview! Please, do more like this one.
Did he mention the Alan Ladd Great Gatsby release?
Touch of Evil is my fave Welles film too.
Also, excited to see Shane might come out fairly soon.
Awesome interesting they releasing inside man on 4k finally about time. It was really awesome movie, since I just saw it on dvd rented from Hollywood video. Also i'm excited about older films come out as for soon.

Wow, great interview, always keeps my attention. Kino is king. Tarzi's the man. 👍
Excellent! I was only going to watch the first 10-15 minutes before bed and pick the rest up tomorrow. I was having too much fun.
Love this. Still watching this, but would love it if K-L would do one of my grails, Fool's Parade with Jimmy Stewart and George Kennedy. It's a Sony/Columbia title. TCM has run an HD version on their channel.

Yes!! OPEN RANGE !!
Another great conversation with Frank. He was going wild with announcements haha, love it!
Interesting to see the business side of it, why some titles don’t make sense financially and others do. Rights, deals, etc.

Dude needs to have a suggestions email. Maybe he intends to release titles people want but he should be open to being reminded what is top of people’s wishlists.
I remember when I saw Skulduggery in the Theater even at 10 I knew there was something wrong with this film.
really enjoyed the back half of the show when you guys started discussing the strongest movies from different directors. I haven't seen any Hill and Spencer comedy yet so might take a chance on Crime Busters
Great interview!
Open Range is one of Costner’s top 3.
What happened to the Ilsa movies coming in 2024?
Very exciting to hear about the classic 30s and 40s new to Blu titles.
Frank should start TH-cam shorts for Friday night film recommendations
Glad to hear Shane will be coming out some time next year. I've been holding out to watch it for the first time.

Great interview Heath. Sneakers got mentioned but haven’t seen a release. Did I miss it?
You didn't miss it, it's still in the future, probably 2025.
What happened Mr Bugs goes to Town by Kino?
I remember they announced "Lets do it" '84 in 2022 and no sound since. I still hope
Ugh. I want Heartbreak Kid on blu ray so bad.

"Bad Day at Black Rock" needs to be 4k.....
Vertigo doesn’t do a lot for me. I’ve never been able to accept the central conceit of the movie.
Frank sounds like Bruno Sammartino.

they need to do A Night at the Roxbury in 4k.

House Boat would not have been profitable on 4K. Perfectly valid to just do a bluray.
So when is a U.S. distributor going to release some of the best Terrence Hill and Bud Spencer films? And for my tastes, MY NAME IS NOBODY ranks up there with the original dollars trilogy.
Now if Kino would just ship products properly so they all don't arrive damaged, and not have an abominable Customer Service.
Thanks Frank and Heath for all you do for physical media! 👏👏
Oh Frank - I appreciate you, but your take on tariffs... oof.
Hateful Eight is his worst film, next to Deathproof. Oh well. Tarantino is overrated and self indulgent.
Great interview!
