Yep, came to the comments section to say how right off the bat on my first playthrough this song stood out and became my favorite from the album. Not even sure if I know why. I think maybe it feels like the most "Story of the Year song" (to me). So fuckin happy to hear this version of it. I need to get to a concert. Also: I always loved the cymbals in this. They're sharp and cutting hits. They almost sound like a blade being drawn. I always pictured it when I listened to the song and I felt like it just fit the themes and the wordplay in the song so well.
Yea. Dan can def still sing great. But, maybe this particular song is just a but more troublesome for him. The voice isn’t always an easy instrument to control 100% constantly for decades.
