When shopping for lenses online, how will you know if the lens board it comes with would be light-tight on your Intrepid 4x5? I'm looking for a 75mm lens with a recessed lens board, just like in the video. Will a Linhof-Technika lens board work with my MK4?
Looks like a great versatile LF camera. My only issue with it is that it looks like some of the movements share a single control knob. What concerns me is when you have that knob loosened and your making adjustments on one movement on the front, the front standard may also be moving in another direction very slightly without you realising it. Looks like shift and swing are controlled by the same knob. So you could be shifting the front standard to the right but you may also be inadvertently applying some swing as well without you being aware of it. I may be a newcomer to view camera movements but I know the importance of having everything zeroed except the specific movement that you're working on.
@@IntrepidCameraCo Ah great to hear. I really like the versatility that this camera offers. Like being able to use lenses from 75mm up to 300mm with just the one bellows. And a very attractive looking camera as well.
Can you take a recessed lens board and flip it around so it extends a long lens further away from the film plane? That way you wouldn't have to stretch the bellows as much.
Hello, i am planning to buy a fujinon 75 F5.6 on the intrepid 4x5 V.2 Do you think it's a good lens for the intrepid, and can i get some movements on the intrepid 4x5 with this lens ? I will use it with a lens board from intrepid. Regards.
Good video, but would have been a lot better if you had shown the image, without and then with the movement, so we could see what the movement actually does.
A used Schneider 150mm f9 G-Claron in a Copal #0. It has a 189mm circle @ f22. I don't know how much circle you need to use the movements on the Intrepid, but if you are just starting out it is an economical choice. Good advice to start with a 'standard' focal length at first and buy others to suit your particular photographic interests.
Good instructions, but you continue to say lens boards, when the correct term to use is shutter, after all the lens boards are boards with holes on which the shutter is screwed on.
He’s correct. The lens boards mount the lenses. The shutters are integral with the lens. Most are in a Copal O shutter. The 210 takes a 1 shutter. The boards must be compatible with the camera type. I use Linhof Technica style board on my Wista DX. If I have a lens on a Cambo board I can remount it in a Technica style board of the correct size for the shutter making it compatible with my camera.
Does this camera have an international standard Graflok back? Also, are there any back movements?

Thank you for a really nice and informative video!

This is actually an older model of our 4x5 camera. Our latest model has independent front standard controls.

If I shoot with a 90 mm lens can I do that without angling the rail downwards? I'm trying to avoid getting the base rail out of the shot/

YES - Linhof makes lens boards which have a forward extension.
I guess the recessed board let you extend a bit the bellow ?
Where did you h’fet this lens from ?
fantastic, thanks brother.
Is there a lens that can stay attached and while the camera is closed?

Is it a big problem if my lens board is not recessed ?
❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍

If someone was on a budget and thinking of using the Intrepid to get into 4x5, what would be a good value lens to start out with?
Does this lens have a pc sync?

Some photos, please. I'm tired about theory. Tell me what I can't do with my cheap Fuji x10...
The normal lens is approximately the same length as the format's diagonal. In mm, that comes to 162 mm. 150 is close enough.
