Thank you for your videos. I have been tying paracord for about a year. Actually watching someone tying makes it easier, more fun to tie the more complicated weaves.
Just finished mine with military red in the spine, and explode (yellow/orange) as filler. Ended up looking great! Used just under 13 feet of cord in total for an 8 inch bracelet (6.5 feet of each colour). It was a tight fit, would advise to cut at least 7 feet per colour. I also used a 5/8" gunmetal buckle. The slightly smaller buckle looks quite good with this weave. Cheers for the great tutorial!
This is one of my favorite bracelets. The key to making the weave look consistent and straight is to keep pulling the cords at the same tension. If you pull one tighter than the one before it (or after it) the bracelet will look lumpy and crooked. It took me a lot more than 6' of each color. I suggest you buy 10" each of your desired colors and don't cut them until the bracelet is complete. My thanx to BoredParacord. Good video!
I really like your manner of instruction. I can understand exactly what is being done. I have watched other cordists giving instruction and I can't get what they're doing. You are clear, concise, and very easy to copy. Thank you for that. I have learning issues and yet you seem to be able to get thru to me. Again, thank you.
as im sitting here reading the comments about it not looking like the same weave your doing. when your doing this weave, follow exactly how he explains,but.... when you go to tighten everything up, dont pull as hard as you can.. gently tighten everything up and push it up as your doing every 2/3 weaves. mine turned out exactly how his did. and had anout an inch left ofer.. keep up the vid bud! your pretty much the only reason i started making these.. your directions are very clear and you show every movement yo do. an idea, do something that look like a heartbeat. be pretty neat! PARACORD ON!
I've made only 4 Solomon bracelets so far, but I admired this one since I went looking on TH-cam for instructions for them. Today was "the day". Your instructions are excellent..THANK YOU...I made the bracelet easily. And it looks GREAT! I love the width. Decided to use all black...and if you didn't see the buckle it could pass for a very pretty almost elegant bracelet
I just completed one that finished 8-1/4" as in the video. I reversed the colors so the dark bar would be down the center and the lighter color on the outside. Came out very nice. My weave was pretty snug and even end to end but really needed about 7-1/2 feet of "gold" and 6 feet of brown. (Did a hidden splice so I wouldn't have to start over) I also continued the weave and wove the ends through a couple of the back loops to finish so no visible knot and melted ends. Great pattern ! Thanks for the video and the inspiration Shawn. My wrist measure 6-3/4" and the 8-14" feel very good to me, not loose, not tight.
This took me WAY too many tries until I realised how to do it correctly. The key aspect which wasn't really clear to me, is that you don't want any tilt at all to the lower string (the one that goes over/under/under/over) and that you can cinch up on the core strands individually. So my technique was to pull them both through, tighten slightly and then cinch up on the outermost core until none of it was showing. Then tighten the upper strand more to get the correct outermost crossing angle and then REALLY cinch up and tighten on the lower strand to get it all completely vertical. It's the lower one that determines the tightness of it all. Great bracelet, and thanks a bunch for the tutorial!
just ordered a diy paracord kit on ebay, can't wait lol i'v been practicing with common lace from shoes and jackets, jacket cord is pretty good, its elastic and is a perfect fit for my rist and just slips over my hand tightly, when i get my paracord delivered, i will be making a double dragons tounge, looks freeky!! thanks BP
the tip from MrDidaxi to include instructions for using alternatives to buckles, I agree...and I like to use anchor shackles rather than buckles or knots. I would like to see several alternative closure methods. This give us all quite a variety and diversity of skills with which to start/end/fasten our crafted items with. Thank you.
Love watching your videos cause they are so easy to follow. I just completed this one and I just used fidds to finish it off. But your way obviously works too.
Just made a gun sling using this design. I used black and silver/grey for the colors to match the gun (black stock, stainless barrel). Everyone I showed it to thinks it looks really cool
Thanks for the video, I like the wide Dragons Tongue. Word to the wise, make a mark or sticker on the table centered with the camera to keep your project centered.
Love this weave! I used it to make my puppy a collar, she was always getting her others off to easily! She's quite strong being a Rottweiler & Mastiff breed lol! It works perfectly! Of course I'll have to make a new one once she is full grown 😂 But it's worth it 👍👍👍
I made my red and black dog collar, what a beauty. Took about 30 ft all up but well worth it, have been advised by a Rottweiller [?] breader its worth $50 at least, not for sale. Thanks again BP. Wish I could send you a pic
I also meant to say keep up the awesome great work that you do on these bracelets get some people might not like your bracelet but I do cuz it takes a lot of work and a lot of patient to do it just right the first time and I know you practice and practice on these bracelets to get it right the first time which is good the meantime have a blessed day and don't forget I would like to have directions for the paperwork so I can try to do it myself have a blessed day
I checked out Mr Coops Dragons tongue, its good but yours is far away better. I will be making one in red and black as a dog collar for my doberman. But I will be weaving my ends in as did Mr Coop, I think this time the soloman knot looks untidy. But again I really like this wide version, brilliant many thanks.
Hi there. Thx for sharing. A tip from yours truly: the viewer's perspective calls for close up shooting. It would help one to assimilate better; it adds to the feeling one has when watching this sort of instructive vids. Then again, this is my personal understanding. Finally, a question: you obviously prefer the "buckle" approach. Cool; it is practical; no argue. Still, gives to some of us, "simple knot clasp" fans a break! (LOL). Please, be so kind (if possible) and provide for this specific bracelet the instructions on how to start the project without using a buckle; how to configure the starting point of 4 +2 cords, without a buckle. Thx in advance for your time and regardless if you upload such a supplement video for this bracelet, or not. Cheers. George from Hellas.
You would have to do a Solomon knot at one side of the bracelet and run your working and down the side and the other side to another so long and then you can start braiding.
Thank you for the video, but a few points would make it easier to follow. 1. Colour-code, or otherwise identify the buckle ends and their orientation 2. Don't keep flicking them over and switching ends; it makes it very hard to stay oriented. 3. Try to keep the essential actions in the centre of the frame. The end in particular, was off the top, and/or concealed by the "next video" caption. The middle of the bracelet really wasn't doing anything but take up frame.
I really appreciate you guys making these bracelets I am new to making these bracelets and your videos have really helped me get better at making them I am 12 so I don't have money to make them but when I have rope I try to make one of yours so thank you for the video's
I had to improve the way you finished the bracelet. (No disrespect). I enjoy the way you explain the technique and it has been very helpful. I laced it all the way to the end where I had to use needle nose for the last couple stitches. Left blue on one side and black on the other. Laced each one thu the top of class to bottom and did a simple pull thru knot on each strand. Did a single weave on backside and fuse together
Hello...I'm from Colombia and like your job....why dont use a jig?.....if I (beginner) try to work without one....the final quality....will be underexpectd?....not homogeneus or something like that?
I tried making this bracelet following your tutorial but it’s nothing like yours. What am I doing wrong?? You mentioned you “felt” a knot go right but not what it was, is there a method of checking as you go along?
i really like the design but could you do one from the top down view i am using a rig and its hard to follow when its reversed like you have it in your current video
made my mom a rifle sling afew yrs back, it was like 3ft, and like 120ft green and 120ft black.. when tightening it all up, i recommend either wrapping your fingers with tape or wearing gloves, i rope cut my fingers pretty bad..
Thank you very much for your videos. I just tried this one (my hand is going to sleep) and I love the pattern! I just forgot to add a little play to the bracelet. g2g, going to save my hand ;)
I love the videos very talented. Also I love how you apologies it's funny becouse it is so unnecessary and I feel like if I was ever to meet you you would be a fine man your mother raised you well 😂😂😂😂
Shawn, what are the cord colors that are on the left of the screen please? I know what colors you are using for the Wide Dragons Tongue. I need the other colors on the left!
What kind of paracord are you using for this item? The paracord I have is very difficult to maneuver, cinch up, tighten, etc. Yours looks very soft and pliable and even sort of flat. Mine is 550 military grade, has been pre-shrunk (myself) and is very round. But when I do several stitches, it kind of looks like crap. all bumpy and snaky like. Is that the way it is supposed to look? (a dragon's tongue? I've never seen one before so not sure if this is right...)
Hi, My son and I just started learning and doing it from your videos....great tutorials!! Just one question, Do you prefer not to use the "Manny Method" for joining cord, if so. Why not?
+Jerry Boothe Im Kinda new to Paracording myself, my opinion is this I prefer to fuse simply because it is faster and simpler. That being said the MAnny method looks a little cleaner.
Buenos días Dios le bendiga grandemente mchas gracias por su enseñanza y lo felicito su trabajo es impecable pero le agradecería por favor me pueda proporcionar las medidas de los cordones Cuántos centímetros por cada cordón Muchas gracias
Could anyone tell me how to make it so that the brown is in the center?. No matter which way i flip the cow's hitch it still makes the same pattern just flipped top/bottom of bracelet.
Thank you for your videos. I have been tying paracord for about a year. Actually watching someone tying makes it easier, more fun to tie the more complicated weaves.

XsyCon thanks for the info of the cord length

Good job

I just finished making this design and thank you very much, i love your color combo for this design. Thank you once again

Yes!! Finally someone who can teach well. I got this down now and its looking very cool.
Thanks so much for the step by step video! Super easy to follow! Unlike most. Just finished mine in black and red

Wicked! The extra width really adds to this design!
Chuis grave dégoûté ce qu' il est trop beau ce bracelet en paracorde !!! 🤠🤠🤠🙂🙂🙂
Merci du partage c'est magnifique !!! 🤠🤠🤠
Your videos are so helpful! When I got paracord for my first time I had no idea what to do but now this is so much more easier with you helping
I made a black & silver gun sling with this design. Looks phenomenal 👌
Love this weave! I used it to make my puppy a collar, she was always getting her others off to easily! She's quite strong being a Rottweiler & Mastiff breed lol! It works perfectly! Of course I'll have to make a new one once she is full grown 😂
But it's worth it 👍👍👍
Thank you! For sharing your videos with us giving us new ideas for different designs.
Awesome video. You make it look easy peasy. Im going to try the herringbone next.
I made one with your tutorial, your direction was clear and easy to follow. .......thanks!
You make it look so easy and perfect! Great stuff man. Awesome tutorials and a lot of fun!
I really like the width of this design.
very good video but one question what you refer to as a saloman I have as an old navy man called it square knotting do you know why the diffrent names
Amazing just finished making mine in black and red with a D ring buckle. Thank you. 😁
I made my red and black dog collar, what a beauty. Took about 30 ft all up but well worth it, have been advised by a Rottweiller [?] breader its worth $50 at least, not for sale. Thanks again BP. Wish I could send you a pic

It kinda mirrors a modified cobra weave, but I like the simplicity of it. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thanks for these vids, dude. I started with the most basic pattern that was with the ezzzy jig, so I appreciate your knowledge sharing. Kudos.
Are there any paracord designs and/or videos showing how to make a wrist watch strap?
I checked out Mr Coops Dragons tongue, its good but yours is far away better. I will be making one in red and black as a dog collar for my doberman. But I will be weaving my ends in as did Mr Coop, I think this time the soloman knot looks untidy. But again I really like this wide version, brilliant many thanks.
I want to try this as a watch band. Should I start at the watch and work to the buckle?
Awesome instructional video. Easy to follow and attention to details. Thanks friend.
Hi there. Thx for sharing. A tip from yours truly: the viewer's perspective calls for close up shooting. You would have to do a Solomon knot at one side of the bracelet and run your working and down the side and the other side to another so long and then you can start braiding.
This weave is 3cm wide, works best with a 1 1/4 inch wide buckle if you are using ametal belt buckle type for an adjustable collar
Thank you for the video, but a few points would make it easier to follow.
1. Colour-code, or otherwise identify the buckle ends and their orientation
2. Don't keep flicking them over and switching ends; it makes it very hard to stay oriented.

Difficult to follow the ending as you were not in centre frame
I really appreciate you guys making these bracelets I am new to making these bracelets and your videos have really helped me get better at making them I am 12 so I don't have money to make them but when I have rope I try to make one of yours so thank you for the video's
You're welcome :)
No vi cuanto ocupaste de cada color para hacer la pulsera de supervivencia por cierto te quedó excelente saludos

Just a question - why did you do the brown over the top when all the other is gold across the top? Just curious
Wow thanks for this tutorial Shawn ! Your the best !
I tried making this bracelet following your tutorial but it’s nothing like yours. What am I doing wrong?? You mentioned you “felt” a knot go right but not what it was, is there a method of checking as you go along?
what bracelet are you wearing. I love it
i really like the design but could you do one from the top down view i am using a rig and its hard to follow when its reversed like you have it in your current video
What is that other bracelet you were wearing? That's pretty sweet.....
I will have to try this in red satan and yellow , I'll put a picture on FB when it's done , cool design ty
You better :)
made my mom a rifle sling afew yrs back, it was like 3ft, and like 120ft green and 120ft black.. when tightening it all up, i recommend either wrapping your fingers with tape or wearing gloves, i rope cut my fingers pretty bad..
nice design Shawn keep it up
Thank you very much for your videos. I just tried this one (my hand is going to sleep) and I love the pattern! I just forgot to add a little play to the bracelet. g2g, going to save my hand ;)
LOL How did it turn out?
pretty sweet! sooper comfy too
is there any list or rule to calculate the paracord length necesary by type of bracelet?...thanks again
I love the videos very talented. Also I love how you apologies it's funny becouse it is so unnecessary and I feel like if I was ever to meet you you would be a fine man your mother raised you well 😂😂😂😂
Is the chocolate brown a good color to use for FSU colors?
Shawn, what are the cord colors that are on the left of the screen please? I know what colors you are using for the Wide Dragons Tongue. I need the other colors on the left!
You are so great. I love your job and your voice is my spiration.
went to home site to get the copper head cord and the choc. brown but could not find any in stock.
Try amazon they have just about every color imaginable on their website.
What's the name of the bracelet you're wearing in the beginning of the video?
I have attempted this following video and I can't get the cords to be even toward the end of braclet so much more of the lighter color
What kind of paracord are you using for this item? The paracord I have is very difficult to maneuver, cinch up, tighten, etc. Yours looks very soft and pliable and even sort of flat. I love the Bracelet your wearing!!! Can I get one just like it with a Flint Latch Please?
Hi, My son and I just started learning and doing it from your videos....great tutorials!! Just one question, Do you prefer not to use the "Manny Method" for joining cord, if so. Why not?
+Jerry Boothe Im Kinda new to Paracording myself, my opinion is this I prefer to fuse simply because it is faster and simpler. That being said the MAnny method looks a little cleaner.
are you still selling on ebay?
That's the Hawthorne Football Club colours...The Mighty Fighting Hawks!!! (AFL: Australian Football League)
Does this hold a lot? (I would imagine so) how much cord was used in this bracelet?
Could anyone tell me how to make it so that the brown is in the center?. No matter which way i flip the cow's hitch it still makes the same pattern just flipped top/bottom of bracelet.
Hey boredparacord,
If i feed the paracord through the buckles the opposite way you did, will the design come out on the correct side of the bracelet?
If I were to make a bracelet to fit a 7 inch wrist, how much cord do I need? :)
I'm sorry what is the name of the red color by your left hand in this video? I must have it!
how long is each strand of paracord?
if you used 6ft of each color what size did the bracelet turn out to be?
Thanks for showing how to make these.
made one for a dog collar looks great thanks
Is this a quick deploy or can it be?
i love all your videos ,,,,,,thank you for sharing and teaching us....
I've done this one, and I use it for my watch band....so....I have "Wide Dragons Tongue Paracord Watchband".
😁
Which size buckle would also work, 3/8, 1/2, or 5/8?
What was the length used? He might have said it and I missed it
Just made this, I really like it
EXCELLENT JOB!!!
show us how to do the one u r wearing ....like it
He did it already. Check back at his videos toward the bottom :)
I love all your videos thx for making them 😊
Really like this one
Nice job, just getting involved in this.
can u try to put a twist on the bracelet
Do 3/8 and 1 inch buckles match the size of the bracelet?
If my wrist is 7.25 inches then do I use 5.5 feet of each color?
what do you use to connect the end of the paracord?
can you do a double wide fish tail is that possible?
Gabe laube
ft approximately how many are used to that bracelet
muito bom!quantos metro é preciso pra fazer uma pulseira?
6 feet of each have you how long of a bracelet?
Can I make 8 loops?
Or 16 loops? as a belt :)
Where can I buy those buckles?
so how many feet do I use if I am making a 6 3/4" bracelet?
also the bars that go across the center are very wide apart instead of right next to each other like yours. (sorry for the addl post.)
Like the width also.
