Me too. I don't cry when most celebrities die, I did with Tom Petty, Leonard Cohen when I heard his final album, David Bowie, and Anthony Bourdain. So maybe that's a lot. You don't really know them and you don't know if they were good people or not. But some just add so much to your life you feel that deep loss. I also cried a ton this year over my favorite political podcaster Michael Brooks, I listened to him every day.

Tom Petty was/is my favorite artist ever, at least since I was 14 (55 now). Though, I haven't listened to him in the last couple of years much, since my husband passed (he kinda resembled him back in the day). But his concert was the last one that my late husband and I attended. As for the rabbit hole, start early and work your way up, because damn near every song he has done will either entertain you, make you think, or just smoke a joint. Most awesome thing, back early eighties I went to red rock in Colorado to see Bob Dylan and TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS was his band! So when Bob was tired of singing, Tom would sing his songs. I was higher than a kite from altitude and it was one of best memories of life. ✌️🥰✌️

Tom Petty definitely is a legend. A ton of hits. I first heard Breakdown and Refugee when I was a teen. I think Refugee hit the radio first, didn't last long, then Breakdown hit, and that caused Refugee to get more play, and it became a hit. And that started him off. I like those songs, but I think his better material came later in his career.

Tom Petty definitely is a legend. A ton of hits. I first heard Breakdown and Refugee when I was a teen. I think Refugee hit the radio first, didn't last long, then Breakdown hit, and that caused Refugee to get more play, and it became a hit. And that started him off. I like those songs, but I think his better material came later in his career.
I’m so glad you did another Tom Petty! He’s probably my favorite artist of all time they put on such a good live show. I think you’d really dig him.

Oh this song brings back so many memories... love Tom Petty, he is one of the best. Simple songs, but so catchy and sung the way only Tom can sing them. Some good ones.. Refugee, American Girl, (those are when he first started).... he has a song called Wildflowers that I played on repeat as a teenager. It's a mellow accoustic guitar song. "I Won't Back Down" is another great one. Love you, Mr. Video!
