Just to leave more info here 🤍 Onyx is such a durable and beautiful piece, besides the fingerprints and the need to clean quite often it will withstand the test of time and regular use, van cleef does not offer the sweet size in Onyx but I believe that would bring the best of both worlds (being smaller would allow to show less the fingerprints etc so I kinda wish we had the option as I would prefer it) the mother of pearl is a delicate stone that is prone to loose its shine and possibly shrink when it comes to contact with water, this is something to absolutely consider when you decide to buy it, the Mother of pearl does come in the vintage & sweet size.

I think you can have Onyx in the sweet size via special order. I saw someone here on TH-cam that has sweet Alhambra Onyx in yellow gold and it is so beautiful.
When they say you can replace the motif for $240 does that mean the entire gemstone can be replaced (MOP)? That sounded kinda too good to be true

I watched your first Video on your Van Cleef necklaces before I made my purchase. I purchased the vintage Alahambra in Onyx at the store in NYC. Absolutely love it! I wear more black, so this color was perfect for me. I purchased the sweet MP in Paris over the summer and I love this one too. Glad to have two different styles. Your reviews are spot on and definitely helped me make my decision to purchase. You also have me layering my necklaces😂.

I had MOP in vintage and I sold it 😒because is wasn’t as practical as I thought it will be. Plus it’s always tangles when I wear it with my diamond short necklace …. Pretty high maintenance peace . So I really like sweet Alhambra MOP now. It’s dainty and so so versatile 🥰
I have been wanting the mother of pearl sweet alhambra but scared because its si delicate and was even thinking of getting the onyx one! But I feel like I’d still want the mother of pearl one!

I wish they had an intermediate size. I have two sweet size pendants that I absolutely love but I would also like something a bit bigger. However, I find the vintage size is not dainty enough. I also don't like the fact the pendant doesn't move. It makes me nervous when it doesn't sit right in the middle so I would have to adjust it constantly 😞
An in between size would be amazing 🫠
Lou, also It seems the mother of pearl is glued into the setting - there are no prongs, so I really would err on the side of caution when showering with it. We're not perfect, but I'd also be concerned about the glue getting soft...
I've been considering the sweet butterfly pendant vs the Lucky alhambra butterfly (I just love that its butterfly and not common) so this video helps as it also pertains to 2 sizes. That's the only branded fine jewelry I want. I also recently got a lab tennis bracelet, its just so much more ethical. The bracelet you have is lovely! I prefer the 2ct size you have though just because I'd be worried about being robbed for the 7ct one. Then again, you usually carry a Birkin so I think you are rather safe anyway.

Hi Lou! Would you consider getting the onyx vintage Alhambra 5 motif bracelet. I’ve heard it’s the most durable and I’m thinking about getting it in the future. Let me know your thoughts on this piece.
Lovely set! Great video. I’m want the sweet Alhambra mother of pearl. If the mother of pearl is made for children I would think they would make it more durable. I don’t plan on taking mine off. I never take my gold jewelry off.
I don’t believe van cleef makes the sweet pendant in onyx. They only make the sweet ear studs in onyx. I believe the sweet collection pendant is made in carnelian, MOP, hammered gold and diamond
I'm tempted to get the red Sweet Alahambra! but not sure if it's worth it to me, my friend may bring it tax free
Great video, I've been contemplating getting my first VC&A. I'm curious, could I get a Sweet Alhambra in onyx or, let's say, Vintage in Mother of pearl? Somehow I was always sure they only make Vintage in onyx an vice versa
you're correct onyx is only vintage pendant and mother of pearl is vintage and sweet
They don’t make the sweet in onyx. Unless you’re able to get a special order.

You do know that diamonds are 90% manufactured today... and are worth 10% of what you pay at the store. Yes your certificate will state what you paid but you can also pay real prices if you buy from Surat India, the place where most diamonds come from
Does the sweet Alhambra move around the chain or does it stay fixed?
I’m glad you went with lab grown diamonds. They’re real diamonds and WAY more ethical.

I recomend investing in an ultrasonic cleaner, Im not sure how it will work with mother of pearl but with other jewelry it is the best was to get into the intracate small areas and really deep cleans.
I forgot too many timed to remove my mop before my shower.😂 But honestly I don’t see much of a difference in the stone.
yeah I just not that type of person that will always remember to take it off and I have made my peace with it hahaha
But the onyx doesn’t come in sweet size😂 I think the vintage onyx suits ppl with blonde hair coz it stands out.

I just ordered the guilloche pendant to match my bracelet. It arrived today. I’m concerned about the metal plate that has the serial number being uncomfortable agsinstvmy skin if worn 24/7. Have you experienced this ???
