    I cant recommend Costa Rica strongly enough for family vacation We have been visiting for over thirty years Although the crowds have steady increased dramatically over that time Both coasts offer enough for the beginning surfer and for a little investment there are still plenty of breaks that you can score to yourself but the prices have jumped accordingly The people and food make this country one of the best places that you and your family won't soon forget Thanks for sharing as always my friend Summertime has the biggest and most consistent surf and have Never been skunked any time of year Literally Be well my friend 👍🤙

    Hi Dan, Awsome breakdown of destinations. I am looking to take the family on a surf trip vacation. Couple young kids and the wife. I like the sound of Sri Lanka could you tell me best season to get waves there?
    Thanks

    • @DanHarmon123
      @DanHarmon123  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate! Thank you! Yeah, Sri Lanka would be a wicked family trip. Sri Lanka has two seasons. Between November and March, head down South to Midigama or Hikkaduwa (both lovely beach towns) with accomms across the road from beach/surf breaks. Otherwise, between April and October, the East Coast is better, so head to Arugam Bay!! Hope that helps :)

    Fly to Faro for the algarve.
    Great video tho, does Mexico have a family friendly option?

    • @DanHarmon123
      @DanHarmon123  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, great point!! Way closer haha... Thank you! I'd say Puerto would be best for families, as it's got waves right out front and loads of accomm options (it's a large town)!! there or Sayulita up North could work :))

    I started watching these back when I was planning a trip through central America, I'm currently in el tunco el Salvador. One thing that has stood out is the vibe and the infrastructure. i think it would be good to comment more on these things. I don't think these places are cheap destinations anymore prices are expensive for food, and these countries are mostly falling to bits, the areas you stay in with surf are ruined by an attempt to appeal to tourism. It's so tacky I was watching the surf before and the music was booming behind me, I couldnt even hear the ocean, a bottle of water cost 1 usd. The waves get good in these places, that's all they have, there is a real lack of education in these places.

    • @DanHarmon123
      @DanHarmon123  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate!! Yeah great shout, I think with regards to price, you have to "make" places cheap now, by finding good deals on accomm or hunting out local places to eat! And yep, totally agree that most surf destinations have their fare share of other issues!!

    Costa Rica is great but I would not recommend jaco for a family trip. Northern coast is better.

    • @DanHarmon123
      @DanHarmon123  ปีที่แล้ว
