Mov.II: Lento - Allegro - Andante 14:08
Orchestra: Sveriges Radios Symfoniorkester
Conductor: Stig Westerberg
Recorded 1966
a terrific and powerful piece of greta music.
I would love to hear this live!
very profound masterpiece. Imagine the majestic landscape of Scandinavia.
Beautiful!
I wonder if this was the first performance that the composer unfortunately did not live to experience. The first movement sounds close knit, a truly symphonic movement but the second, to my eras at least, to rhapsodic. Apart from that it is a shame that Nyströms symphonies virtually seems to have disappeared from the orchestras in Sweden.
One of the "established outsiders" in Swedish music - lived in Gothenburg, not in Stockholm; lived 1919-1932 in Paris - one of the few modernists of the 20s when late national romanticism dominated Swedish music life.
Bravo. No more to say . ...
Why the hell this work is almost unknown is beyond me.
nice
15:32 The score must say "Squeak" at that part.
