- #YamahaAS2200 Integrated Amplifier #unboxing unboxed hands on.
A performance fit for the global stage and inheriting many features from its big brother, the #AS2200 delivers an authentic, powerful yet somehow elegant and emotional Hi-Fi sound. Absolute musicality from a luxuriously beautiful instrument. Conveying the emotional story of artists can only truly be achieved with an intimate understanding of how music is created. This understanding is embedded in Yamaha’s DNA, developed particularly through working with artists to help them create music. It’s this understanding that enables Yamaha to truly convey all the emotion ingrained in the music to the listener.
Features...
Fully balanced circuit design from input to speaker out
Large toroidal power transformer with enormous energy delivering an authentic Hi-Fi sound
Gorgeous level meters convey dynamics and music pulse with a nod to the nostalgic Hi-Fi era
Thick wires for ground connection contribute to low impedance design for a wide and open sound stage
Mechanical ground concept maximises rigidity for expressive and rhythmic bass
Toroidal Transformer
Toroidal power transformers, renowned for their superior performance in Hi-Fi components has been appointed to power the A-S2200. Its ability to maintain energy when compared to substitutes aids the A-S2200 in delivering all the emotional energy of the artist infused in the music.
Gorgeous Level Meters
The level meters are both a nod to the nostalgic era of Hi-Fi while simultaneously demonstrating the importance of pure Hi-Fi for today’s discerning enthusiast. Visually presenting the dynamics and pulse of the music, the level meters imbue a warm feeling through their softly illuminated LEDs.
Thick Wires for Ground Connection
A naturally open sound stage is achieved through a culmination of design and component selection. Thick wires for ground connection were purposely selected, adding to the overall low impedance amplifier design, producing a wide and open sound stage for the listener. Consequently, the components disappear, leaving the artist in their place.
Mechanical Ground Concept
The Mechanical Ground Concept adopted in the A-S2200 maximises rigidity and reduces any unwanted vibration, achieving expressive and rhythmic bass. Further rigidity is achieved with the large power transformer, block capacitors and heat sink directly bolted to the chassis while the feet, with bolts directly welded to the main chassis, provide further reinforcement for absolute rigidity.

I have this amplifier, paired with a Yamaha C-D2100 and wharfdale Linton 85 anniversary edition speakers, Sounds beautiful.
Great - Enjoy
just curious, are jumpers needed for pre out main in ?
No. They engage / disengage when you make a connection
@@TLPCHC ahhh ok nice ,thanks
Might think of checking out this one as my next amp. Only problem is then I have the drama of working out what DAC or streamer to choose from of the hundreds out there.
The NAD / BlueSound NODE is amazing.
Can we place cd player on this amp coz it’s ventilation grail on top
I would not recommend putting a CD player on top of an amp. The matching CD-S1000 (and up) are physically large enough for the player to go UNDER the amp. Maybe get a rack / cabinet(?)
This works good with Audiovector qr5 speaker?
Yes - I think it will work well.
Great review of the box / packaging. Would have been nice to have had a review of how it sounded.
This is an unboxing channel. Please find a retailer to go in and listen to it.
Great vid, just don't mention the rugby...
Was it 43 - 5 in the last test?
Witch pre out on my Yamaha av receiver do I use to connect to the main in on Yamaha as 2200 @TLPCHC
What is the model of AVR ?
@@TLPCHC Yamaha RX-A6A
Normally, I recommend the standard "FRONT" RCA output, but the RX-A6a supports balanced pre-out as well. If your power amp can run Balanced, these should be a better connection
I bought a black one 3 weeks ago. Fantastic sound and build quality. I have maybe used it for 100 hours and I love it.
Superb. Enjoy
Nice review! This Yamaha have a subwoofer pre out? Thank you!
It has a stereo pre-out that is perfect for a subwoofer. (note: Often manufacturers just lable a pre-out as a Sub out to imply a wider feature set)
@@TLPCHC Thank you! 😊
As 1200 or 2200.whice different?
The 2200 is fully balanced, and better dynamic range
Thank you very much.
Nice amp. Have you tried the headphones out and does it sound good or just okay? I've heard the headphones out on the A-S1200 isn't very good. I listen to my music 95% of the time with headphones not to bother my neighbors and my other half. I'd rather not have to buy a separate headphone amp. It's fun to have the amp's signature straight out of the headphones out. Thank you!
Hi thebestoffools - The headphone output is not stunning, but good. If you listen that much to headphones, maybe a smaller amplifier and spend the difference on superb and dedicated headphone amplifier
@@TLPCHC Yah, that's what I figured. I'll keep my Sansui AU-6600 and get a good headphone amp. Thanks for your reply. Cheers.
What is the difference between this one and bigger brother AS3200? Well, beside the bigger VU meters and double the price?
Mainly POWER (as in Current and Wattage) but sonicaly the A-S3200 is a nice step up from the A-S2200
@@TLPCHC Thank you. I got an offer to buy an AS-2200 refurbished (like NEW from a trusted dealer here) for like 2700 euros, aka 4300 New Zealand Dollars. Is it a good offer comparing the price of a AS3200 vs sound quality difference? What do you think?
