  • I know nothing about Studebaker other than what I copied on line about the cars, maybe you can teach me something.
Notes :Studebaker was an American wagon and automobile manufacturer based in South Bend, Indiana. Studebaker entered the automotive business in 1902 with electric vehicles and in 1904 with gasoline vehicles, all sold under the name "Studebaker Automobile Company". After an unsuccessful 1954 merger with Packard (the Studebaker-Packard Corporation) failed to solve chronic postwar cash flow problems, the 'Studebaker Corporation' name was restored in 1962, but the South Bend plant ceased automobile production on December 20, 1963, and the last Studebaker automobile rolled off the Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, assembly line on Saint Patrick's Day, March 17, 1966.

No one ever says "The Low Priced Field" anymore, you can get cheap or quality, but you can't get value anymore.

I have a 1956 President Pinehurst wagon. Really cool to see the '57 President Broodmore, that was my Holy Grail of Studie wagons.

Yep, me and my siblings would be bouncing around too in my parent's Golden Hawk in the back seat like those kids in the ad, no safety belts, yikes. Well, we were very lucky I guess. My parents had that car a few years then bought a Studebaker Lark which my mother promptly drove into the garage door the day after we bought it. She was actually looking backwards trying to back up, but the car wanted to go forwards instead, lol.

The 57 Studebaker kinda looks like a 57 Pontiac if you squint

Allyn Joslyn is the "teacher" in the first ad, originally seen in 1955 (promoting the 1956 Studebaker President).
The ads from 4:28 on are for the '56 models- especially the "$20,000 Accident Insurance Policy" offer.

The wagons' tailfins and rear bumper extend so far behind the tailgate it looks like they have a loveseat built into the back.

Old timers say Stud engineering was a little shabby.

As beautiful as the 1953-55 Studebaker’s were, by 1957…except for the Hawk…they were hideous.

Does anybody else think the 4-door sedans were horribly ugly? The C-Pillars were wrapped backwards.
