I remember all 3 of these songs . I liked all of them especially “Make Me Yours. And “ Trapped y the Game Called Love”. That was my Jam. “Precious Baby of Mine “ was nice too. These songs still sound good. I remember Trapped by the Game Called Love , I was a Senior in High School. Ooh those House parties we use to go to That’s what it reminds me of. Those were the Days.
Go head Ms. LaSalle, "You Rock". Mercy, this song brings back so many precious memories. In my younger days, I sung all these songs (and still does) all the time. I called myself Denise LaSalle, Betty Wright, Tina Turner, Betty Swan, and Peggy Scott-Adams, I was all of them LOL! "didn't sound bad either". I was rocking their songs, Betty Wright, Tina Turner, Betty Swan, Peggy Scott--Adams, and I could go on and on. Today, I still imitate them all. Rest In Love Queens (Denise LaSalle, Peggy Scott and Betty Wright!!! ❤♫❤♫❤♫
The QUEEN OF THE BLUES!!! The one and only Denise Lasalle. What makes and made her standout was not only was she a singer but she also was a writer and producer.
Growing up listening to her singing 😊 my mother and father played her songs and I enjoyed listening to her singing.I loved her as well because she made me feel 😊 RIH 😢

I have been looking for this song for many years. I also had the opportunity to see her at a night clud in Delray Florida in 1979. She rocked it!. I love this post. It was such a joy to listen to again. Years ago I had it on cassette. I would love to puchase this recording again. Definitely an all time favorite! Thanks VinylfullofSoul.
Thank you so much for sharing this video and I truly love 😍 this music 🎶!and I grew up on this music 🎶 and still love 😍 it and I have the albums!🥰😊💝💖❤❤️🩹❣️💯!
Grew up on the Blues, I saw Denise back in 1999 in Columbus Ga had a wonderful time, she really put on a show......Still a fan, I hope i have as much fire as she does at her age....
Sure brings back good memories! I can see myself at Granny's house and everyone dancing, clapping their hands, and singing! Tons of food too! Collard greens, cornbread, BBQ ribs, smoked neck bones and ham hocks, candied yams, cornbread dressing! Oh Lawd! I gotta stop typing, now I am getting hungry and want to dance too! UMP! Smile! LOL! I never had a love to call my own...I was about to give up until you came along just to have your tender ways...you thrilled me for days and days. .I don't care what nobody I want you for always..........
By the way, this was recorded live at the Players Palace, the nightclub in Jackson, TN that Ms. LaSalle and her husband, James Wolfe, owned in the late1970s/early '80s. That's Wolfe, who was a prominent Jackson radio DJ (and, later, radio station owner), introducing her..
She's talking about her husband James E. (SuperWolfe) Wolfe. RIP 01-08-2018 Denise, my friend and Sister in Christ. Lived and worshipped in Jackson TN, at Mother Liberty CME Church. Funeral Saturday Jan 13th, 2018 at Liberty High School Auditorium, Jackson TN. #legendarybluesartist #queenoftheblues #DeniseLaSalleWolfe She got it right with these 3 songs, my favorite was Precious Precious, all three was above my age limits at the time, but I loved these songs and Denise also.

awesome woman awesome medley of songs...I remember the day...back in the US Virgin islands in the 70's when these songs came out. Oh my God...Those were the good days of music and nothing beats this type of music today...wonderful...just wonderful music.. .Soul music is the still the bomb.
Thank you VFoS for posting this legendary cougar, who also sings!! She tells it like it is. I love you dearly Denise, and I don't care if your husband knows it. LOL.
Thanks for the upload. Always like "this groove". She redid it again on Malaco, but it wasn't as in depth as "this groove". Thanks again for sharing. Oh.. It'a also been released on CD. Not the whole LP, but this "groove" is on a greatest hits compilation. "For thos who are looking for this".
This was during the period when MCA was trying to pigeonhole Denise into a disco format. In her live performances, though, she still had her vintage soul spirit, as this track demonstrates. And guess what -- she hasn't lost it! It's gotten spicier with age! Catch her in performance next time she comes to your town.
There's no video. This is a "live" track from her albm Unwrapepd, which is pictured here. I think ther is a TH-cam video of her performng his medley, but this isn't it. EDIT: Yes, here it is: th-cam.com/video/Mjgu6q_sImc/w-d-xo.html
HAzel Chism, I know it’s been two years ago,but you are wrong honey, she,s Not talking about James E. Wolfe,She,s talking about Bill Jones, her first husband, she was,nt married to James E. Wolfe in 1971,she was married to Bill Jones from 1969 to 1974.
That's Wolfe introducing her here. This was recorded live at the Players Palace, a nightclub that she and Wolfe owned iin Jackson TN n the late 1970s/early '80s. The record was released in 1979.
David Whiteis Your information is all wrong dear, first of all Trapped by a thing called love was released in 1971 ,Not in 1979,,It’s was released in 1971 while She was married to her first Husband ,Bill Jones,The two of them owned a record company together, and this Version of it was Not recorded at a club in Jackson,Tn. ,It was recorded at a club somewhere in Florida,She was married to Bill Jones from 1969 to 1974,she married James E. Wolf in 1977. Like I said this version of the song was recorded live at a club in Florida in 1979.
@@janetboggs3004 I know "Trapped" was released in '71 when she and Bill Jones had their three record labels (Crajon, Gold Star, and Parka); I also know she married Wolfe in '77. The live version of the "My Groove" medley that I'm familiar with is on her LP Unwrapped (1979), which is the one pictured here. The credits clearly state that the medley was "recorded live at the Players Palace Entertainment Center, Jackson, Tennedsee -- Emcee: James 'Super' Wolfe." They both confirmed this to me personally. ( The building where the Players Palace was is still standing on Airways Blvd. in Jackson; it's now an auto body shop.) This sounds like the same version to me; if it isn't, I apologize. I know she did this medley in a lot of her shows, so maybe this is a different version that I hadn't been aware of.
David Whiteis I think it is a different version that you are talking about ,because I remember this version on this album,it was recorded somewhere in Florida.
@@janetboggs3004 If this is the version from "Unwrapped," I have that album and in the credits it definitely says that the medley was recorded live at Players Palace, and that Wolfe is the emcee. And if this isn't that same version, it sure sounds like it! She did cut another verson of this medley for Malaco; maybe that's the one that was recorded in Florida? Here's the video: th-cam.com/video/Mjgu6q_sImc/w-d-xo.html The thing is, though, I don't think this was ever included on an album. She also released a couple of live versions of "Trapped By a Thing Called Love " itself for Malaco, retitled "Trapped 1990." One appeared on her album "Still Trapped": th-cam.com/video/E7EJj1Ra3Kg/w-d-xo.html . . . and another, different one on a live music video: th-cam.com/video/2FbK1ZyWY_s/w-d-xo.html Not sure where these were recorded, though.
