Not a fan of that genre, but the lyrics resonated with me. I was hearing this about the time I separated from my first wife. She was certifiably a narcissistic sociopath, who built our sham of a marriage on lies and control. The story is far too convoluted to explain here, but it was bad. This song described her to the fucking letter.

When this song was on TRL (or was it just MTV?) every day, I was 12 and being bullied in school. I would get off the bus, run home crying, and turn on MTV. I will never forget the debut of this video and my first time hearing and seeing it. It was a particularly bad day at school and I was in deep, aching pain because of those kids. This video came on and held my attention and then I heard those words: "You think that everybody's the same. I don't think that anybody's like you." It wasn't just the words but it was also the way he sang them. It was a revelation and changed my entire perspective on the situation. After that, when the worst of the bullies would come up to me in the morning, I would remember this song from the evening before and recite those words in my mind and feel a sense of comfort and strength in myself that I had not felt before. It gave me so much strength. I was never as hurt again by what people said about me. I was free. I doubt the artist had any clue that their words would help out some random 12 year old in Huntersville, NC at the time. I wish I could thank them. If you are reading this, thank you! You changed my life for the better.
That’s the power of music. The words can be interpreted differently by every single person, the songwriter may have written it about one topic but we can hear the words as something else and there in lies the beauty of music and the written word. he is actually good , and hey back when they were famous i ve Heard rumors that Sam recorded Bass lines from Korn? the actual bass lines not the precussive spaguetti slappy thing i mean, was that true??
This is beyond nostalgia... Some of my earliest memories as a child are seeing this and other music videos while my older brother was watching MTV.. Before I even had any concept of the world or what life even was.
The energy that comes with this song and video every time I listen and reminisce being a kid 😭 I used to sit and wait for the music video to come on MTV late at night when my parents went to bed

This one was of the first songs I heard by Limp Bizkit. I remember watching a music video channel in Mexico just to catch it and try to sing it because I didn't know English haha Good memories about this masterpiece

This always reminds me of rainy spring mornings in the early 2000's. I had a friend in middle school who said this was his favorite Limp Bizkit song, and I always thought it was cool that he didn't immediately go for the more obvious and over the top singles that were dominating at the time. I remember one random gloomy rainy Saturday morning in March where I was hanging out over his house, before the Internet took over and there was really nothing else to do except sit around and chill without worrying about checking our phones 24/7 or being addicted to TH-cam, and this came on MTV. To this day I always think the more somber instrumentals here plus the dark green filter over the video fits that rainy Saturday morning perfectly. And I often wish that I could relive little moments like that again, when the most important question of the day was how we were going to cure our boredom, because life really was that slow.
A lot of people said how shit they were when me and quite a few friends liked them when we were 12-15 year olds. Yet I listen to it now and compare with the vast majority of modern popular music and it is better.
People judged them because they straddled too close to rap and had a whiney set of lyrics. I though they were great but I lost interest in keeping up with anyone when I hit adulthood. Like most of their teen fans from back in the day I'm sure.
I took this kind of music for granted when I was a kid. Malls weren't shutting down right and left, no smartphones, no social media. I'm 28 now and I'd love to go back to these days.
Still the best song, most unique sounding, and it captures the essence of music during that era. Limp Bizkit and Korn were kicking it at the time and we all loved it, except for some oldschool metalheads who still cannot get over it lol.
Cycle of a 32 year old (like me): at 14 “man, Limp Bizkit is awesome!” 22 “dude, Limp Bizkit sucks” 32 “Limp Bizkit is better than the shit released today. Not as bad as I thought a decade ago.”
Yes sir. I remember loving nu metal 20 years ago, and then a few years later moving on to thrash, death, etc, and being embarrassed of listening to this as a kid, and then growing up and listening to it again and not caring anymore
You make believe, that nothing is wrong until you're crying...you make believe, that life is so long until you're dying...dying on me. You think that everybody is the same, I don't think that anybody is like you. -Fav part of the song. Love you Fred, screw all the haters against Limp Bizkit !
This jam was and still is Bad Ass, the instrumentals, Bass, Drums, Guitar are fk'n fantastic. The way these dudes put this shit together is genious, Wes Borland is a Guitar beast, Sam Rivers drives the beat with his funk thumping bass track and John Otto slams the beat with an outrageous tone setting performance, this song is a timeless FUNKIN JAM! Funk what you heard!
whats crazy about this is that i havent listen to this song for soooo Long. and i was fulling a sleep then this song poped up in my head lol crazy i love limp bizkit

@@robbobbrah8953 Nu Metal is trash. Doom, stoner, indie that is where it is at since like '97.
no matter what anyone says about limp bizkit, one thing for sure is that they are talented. they have made metal music feel so hip hop. Wes Borland has made guitar riffs that are heavy but feel so catchy to listen to. and Fred Durst have channeled deep emotion into frenetic music. believe me, not many metal band vocalists are able to do it. limp bizkit, you guys are the real hip metal.

To put things into perspective, there is a person and there is a persona. What people do and did was judge the character that Fred Durst created for his art. If you examine the flip side aspect of the lyrics to 're-arranged', you'll find that reading between the lines procures very much a double edged sword. The song can either be your friend or enemy. He's giving you the option to either hang on every word he says, or step back and use some critical thinking for your own good. This was the sort of thing I think was very much misinterpreted by those who also judged the band superficially, and this included the name. Here is what Marilyn Manson has recently said about Fred to reiterate my musings www.alternativenation.net/marilyn-manson-reveals-bold-truth-limp-bizkit/

And John Otto is the most underrated drummer, Wes most underrated guitarist. Limp Bizkit the most underrated band. Even though they sold over 50 million albums.
he is actually good , and hey back when they were famous i ve Heard rumors that Sam recorded Bass lines from Korn? the actual bass lines not the precussive spaguetti slappy thing i mean, was that true??
Aentik Yeah, that's true, i tought he was really underrated when i found that...
Hidden gem of theirs. Still on regular rotation for me.
You can tell Fred is speaking directly from the heart !!!!
I don't care what anyone says. Limp Bizkit made some really good tunes and this song is proof. 👍😁
Definitely. Rearranged, Boiler, Sour, Counterfeit....they had some absolute masterpieces IMO
I didn't mention all my LB faves but gotta also mention My Way. There's too many to name actually 😁
My words EXACTLY! Chocolate Starfish got me thru COVID. Sounds fkn awesome bumping through a system w tuned EQ and 600w amped sub.
They were without a doubt talented as fuck.. they just knew what would make them the most money.. occasionally we would get some songs like this one.

Great song
That's an amazing song. One of the Limp Bizkit's best.
The energy that comes with this song and video every time I listen and reminisce being a kid 😭 I used to sit and wait for the music video to come on MTV late at night when my parents went to bed
This song takes me back to the early 2000s. I love it. ❤️
Late 90's to early 2000's where time were more simple... some of the best music and one of Limp Bizkits best songs!!!
For real, I can feel it in my heart, takes me right back.

LYRICS:
Just think about it
Just think about it
Lately, I've been skeptical, silent when I would use to speak
Distant from all around me who witness me fail and become weak
Life is overwhelming, heavy is the head that wears the crown
I'd love to be the one to disappoint you when I don't fall down
But you don't understand when I'm attempting to explain
Because you know it all and I guess things will never change
But you might need my hand when falling in your hole
Your disposition, I'll remember when I'm letting go
Of you and me, we're through and rearranged
It seems that you're not satisfied, there's too much on your mind
So you leave, and I can't believe all the bullshit that I find
Life is overwhelming, heavy is the head that wears the crown
I'd love to be the one to, disappoint you when I don't fall down
But you don't understand when I'm attempting to explain
Because you know it all and I guess things will never change
But you might need my hand when falling in your hole
Your disposition, I'll remember when I'm letting go
Of you and me, we're through and rearranged
You and me, we're through and rearranged
You're no good for me
Thank God it's over
You make believe
That nothing is wrong until you're crying
And you make believe
That life is so long until you're dying
You make believe
That nothing is wrong until you're crying, crying on me
You make believe
That life is so long until you're dying, dying, dying on me!
You think that everybody's the same
I don't think that anybody's like you
You think that everybody's the same
I don't think that anybody's like you
Just think about it
You'll get it

By far Limp Bizkit's best song.
Yes then my way
No. Livin it up is their best song. But this is a close second

I agree with Brian, most of their tracks are straight fire!

Gotta be the best written song by Limp Bizkit. The lyrical composition and delivery on this track is top notch. IMO, best song they wrote.
"I'd love to be the one to disappoint you when I don't fall down" 💯

Yet I listen to it now and compare with the vast majority of modern popular music and it is better.
winchuni22 I guess none of us imagined how bad music would be these days.
Fiddlesticks WT Now that is something I can agree with!
People judged them because they straddled too close to rap and had a whiney set of lyrics. I though they were great but I lost interest in keeping up with anyone when I hit adulthood. Like most of their teen fans from back in the day I'm sure.
checkle1 Yeah that's me. However i do listen to some of their songs every now and then for a dose of nostalgia
I loved them and I was in my 30's then!! Still do now in my 50's!
I took this kind of music for granted when I was a kid. Malls weren't shutting down right and left, no smartphones, no social media. I'm 28 now and I'd love to go back to these days.
