This is a genius idea and great tutorial. The only small gripe is instead of 32x32 i wish it was 48x48.
I have a question. Do I need a network switch to connect to Ethernet #1 to cascade them?
Hello, that's a realy helpfull tutorial, thank you. I want to practice with my own Ui24R, try some effects and so on, but I want to do that, before I go live. Do you have a multichannel revord to download which I can use to have any inputs with different musical instruments and vocal?
Many available online I personally don't have one

@@carlotheatheist You can with the Cascade function but just need to be aware it's 32 channels over the ethernet and how you share the channels and outputs
How can I expand the AUX using cascading? The AUX I use is for band monitor wedges, and each member wants a different mix (more them, less others) so as of now with one unit I'm limited to 6 AUX monitor wedges, if I buy a second one as a slave, I don't see how I can send specific mixes to the slave unit AUX without taking up one of the masters AUX channel. ? any thoughts?
Different topic. Is it possible to copy files to USB and playback each band member track in multi track mode, if I didn’t record them in the UI24.
What is the difference of ui24r with 40 inputs and 16 AUX with two mixers ui24r connected to the Len LAN?
The connection of the two mixers ui24r certainly has some limitations.
And just like a mixer that has 40 input ports and 16 portsAUX, it can not be. it's true ?

I like to know how many inputs and outputs can be used at the same time.
Well you don't have double everything.. 40 inputs into 10 AUX yes, or 24 inputs into 16.

Unless I missed it, in order to link a host and slave unit, must they be hardwired with cat 6? Or can I do it remotely. Units are roughly 150 yards apart. TIA
Hello ! At first thank you tutorial, it's very sympatic. I have a little problem with me two UI : it's don't signal for the remote in the chanels 23&24 for the Host. Can this come from firmware versions (V3.3 & V3.4) ? I scrupulously made las the vidéo, and nothing signal. Thank you for your answers. Michel.
Do all aux from both mixers independent or do they just duplicate signals? I want to use two so that I can have 8 stereo outs for IEMs

You need to ask for support from the Facebook user groups or Soundcraft support. These videos are tutorials.
What is the version of the firmware used by the two UI24R console ? 3.1.XXX ; 3.3.XXXX; 3.4.XXXXX ? We have two UI24R with different firmware (3.3.XXXXX and 3.4.XXXXX) and the sound doesn't swift to the other console. Is there a possibility to downgrade the firmware to 3.1.XXXX on each console ?
I am using a brand new one including firmware 3.4 as slave and one with the latest official firmware 3.3.8293.
They work in cascading even if sometimes tha host loses the connection to the slave unit.
Have to figure out why.
I read an info to connect both units directly via Ethernet Port 2.
Than it worked flawlwssly.
Could have been an info in the video but ... nobody is perfect ... even if the ui24r is seems to be very close to that.

NO, only in an analog way like a submixer
If I have a ui24R, can i use the cascade feature if I buy a ui16?

Incredible didactics ... I was left with just one doubt: is it possible to record through the USB port on the 32x32 slave console, leaving the host for the FOH audio, or the cascade mode is not able to transmit the input gains?
Each console records it's own inputs
Very good video! How is the physical connection made between the two devices, both of which are connected on the same network?
You connect both units through their second ethernet port. The network connection of the units can remain unchanged.
If you use the devices wifi host to connect - make sure to change their SSIDs in the network settings so that they are not the same
One direct connection for audio one is IP for control

Yes, but not cascading this way, only like an analog sub mixer, you can still however control them both from one device with 2 pages.

Agreed. For someone making TH-cam videos about AUDIO, his gain staging and mastering is TERRIBLE!
My only complaint is that the roles should be sub and dom instead of master and slave.
