There are no loot boxes and everything is actully a little easy to access and the online is also a good thing it keeps track of your tower scores and if you do good enough you get even better rewards for how you play ive coke across a few towers that were extremely difficult but over came and beat them I have a good amount of costumes and gearbalready and havent had to spend any Actural money nor do i feel as if im grinding is too muxh ive beaten most of the towers and gotten the costumes and gearbi wanted be careful not to be to eagerbto jump to his side i hate to say because i respect joe but he's just flat out wrong this time around and you also just blindly followed he was being toxic not the otherbway around o got that scorpion costume by completing the event for it and i never used the krypt locatuons to begin woth just play the game the intended way not lazy

If you want consistent updates, functioning servers, and additional content, then you need microtransactions in some form. Unless you want them to charge for every update or take up a monthly payment model like MMO's, which have always had "microtransactions" because constant updates and functioning servers. It's extremely greedy microtransactions we dont need, cosmetics are tame compared to what they can do, make you pay to get a chance to unlock some gear that will make your character faster or stronger. People who want to abolish microtransactions are basically saying go back to Ps2 where they release a game as is, bugs and all, and never touch it again except as a new updated $60 release GOTY edition or something similar.

It's because games have become alot more technical in the past 15 years. Larger and more detailed worlds, better graphics, more complex systems and engines. You know what happened when things transitioned into the 3D era of games? Bugs out the ass, just cause you somehow magically avoided them doesn't mean they weren't there, the N64 and PS1 libraries only have comparatively few games that were well polished, there were plenty that were buggy, and if you looked for them, you could find dozens upon dozens of bugs in even the best games. I never said pay to win models are ok or any game modifying payments, and cosmetic microtransactions are indeed tame compared to what can be charged for. Another triple A developer that did this was Bethesda with their mobile game Elder Scrolls Blades. Another pretty looking game but rooted by microtransactions and timers and shit.

To be fair though some games did stuff back in the day, Doom and Wolfenstein and even Quake for example sold each episode separately. Knee Deep in The Dead, Shores of hell etc were all sold separately.

Most only had 1 to 2 costumes per character and stages have never been locked behind monetization and re releases with more characters have been common throughout the years. Not saying it's okay what's happening here but you're looking at this series through rose tinted glasses.

It was a very simple system where you earned your coins by playing, at a very good rate, went to the krypt and unlocked what you wanted. There was no foundation for microtransactions or loot boxes that far back. There is a massive difference between the system in MK Deception and the system in MK 11, the easiest way to put it is Deception made you feel rewarded, as you earned the unlockables.

If you buy the season pass you get 4 heroes 1 week early for free with an outfit and effect for all of them. But if you want to buy one of them you can easily get the currency in 4 days. Not even hardcore playing these 4 days because the orders you get to earn the most money only reset after a day. So that means like 1-2 hours per day playing for 4 days gives you the new hero you want. No pressure at all it's not with a bs 14hour or its gone or even worse *more expensive* no, they actually get cheaper the more you wait. Oh and the maps, reworks for heroes(which are basically new heroes) and new game modes, they release are avalible for everyone for free
3000 hours is 125 days. factor in work and sleep if you play this game every day for 8 hours a day FOR A YEAR you might be able to unlock all the skins.

I don't know if they meant to but that is actually a pretty traditional psychological trick to make people agree to what you want. 1. Ask for something that you know is too much and will never happen. 2. Ask for what you actually want, it won't seem as bad compared to the first thing and therefore have a higher chance of success. (Watch out for this, it can be used in predatory ways. Like lowballing something you're selling online and then calling from a different number and offering more than before to get stuff for cheap.)
Should be an instant boycott as soon as they have it in the game no matter what if it is only cosmetics or not. If the game has a price tag then there should not be any damn microtransactions in it! Sadly, a lot of people are probably loving this news because now they think AngryJoe and a lot of other gamers who used to mop the floor with them in MKX won't be around to mop the floor with them in MK11. The only thing a game needs to have defenders is a leader board. Joe learned that with Godzilla ("Godzilla is approaching the generator. The generator is losing power") two years ago, and recently got a fresh reminder with Driving Dangerously ("I completed a lap in four seconds!") last week. If a game offers someone, anyone, the opportunity to say "I'm numbuh one!", it will always have at least ONE defender.

This is getting out of hand. Any game that offers a premium currency that can be used on RNG chests needs to be considered gambling. Mandate all games with gambling be restricted to age 21 and up, and have a big disclaimer on the game cover warning parents the game uses/promotes the use of real world money to gamble on in game items. Make these games as unattractive as possible when sitting on the shelf or in the online shopping cart.

They just wanna compete with Steam that has the monopoly on selling games and they do it by offering higher interests on sales then Steam does and a higher upfront sum in order to try and get to a better market position. Only problem is users are used to Steam and consider it a better quality platform and that's why there is a backlash... If someone didn't wanna use Steam they could point their fingers at it the same way people are doing so towards Epic Store. That is what I think as a PC Gamer, dunno about consoles.

You lose a match you lose points you risk losing the rank title it should be this way instead for any grinding in a fighting game that doesn't relate to online. A fighting game isn't a rpg, or mmo. If I want to grind I play those. NRS games always had a flaw with the dumb grind idea. Tekken 7 is more generous, and it has a grind to earn fight money. I still don't like it I rather have everything unlocked and play online.

thats the thing, the game ISNT MT heavy at all, the most you can buy with money is the crystals, but even then, the shop has a 24 hours restock timer, and the amount of items they have for sale at once doesnt go above 10. so if you were to ONLY get things through there, you would be spending a couple of decades... if you were lucky.

Indie games are where it's at these days. I don't even get hyped for big titles because they play it so safe and the only good thing going for them are the "graphics" which is not as important as gameplay imo. Mortal Kombat 11 is literally just the snes games but it looks prettier and costs a fuckload more.
MK9 is the best MK in the series imo. For the classics i like MK3 or Trilogy, if thats allowed to count. But MK11 is really good, except there is no running... Im still tryin to get used to it hehe

How does a graveyard go from rows of tombstones and koffins to a clearly rng loot chest, because you made it that way. MK had alway had a bit of random to that mode but the random came from not knowing the kontains within not rng or timing thats just a lootbox. If ermac is in row 5 kolumn 3 then that shouldnt change no matter the time or day and nothing else should be in his koffin but whatever I stopped playing after Mileena's mouth was updated to that dumbass design.
Agreed they dont deserve anything but criticism for the way they are monetizing this game. There are a lot of Indie games out there that don't have any microtrasactions or loot boxes bs in it and are a blast to play. Turmoil, Space Engineers, Factorio, Satisfactory just to name a few. I'd stay a way from AAA stuidios until they get thier crap straight since they are not getting the hint that we don't like this stuff.

Shadow of War's gameplay wasn't reliant on you buying anything, especially the cosmetics, you got all that by playing the game, the game did give you the premium currency if you wanted to buy stuff from the shop, but each time I bought something from there, it was all garbage, I would get far better orc warlords by simply dominating them during gameplay. Mortal kombat 11 has 7 different currencies which is fucking ridiculous. If you choose to buy every skin in the game from the store, it'll cost you over 6000 dollars in time krystals.

You know what was fun? Mk deceptions konquest story mode. Where you could explore 6 or 7 (I forget) worlds that had chests that got you charecters, skins etc. I loved the open world konquest. Finding secret places, npc's, and interesting ppl to talk to that would give you short and sweet lore dialog about the area you're in. It had so much replayability.

If you want consistent updates, functioning servers, and additional content, then you need microtransactions in some form. Unless you want them to charge for every update or take up a monthly payment model like MMO's, which have always had "microtransactions" because constant updates and functioning servers. It's extremely greedy microtransactions we dont need, cosmetics are tame compared to what they can do, make you pay to get a chance to unlock some gear that will make your character faster or stronger. People who want to abolish microtransactions are basically saying go back to Ps2 where they release a game as is, bugs and all, and never touch it again except as a new updated $60 release GOTY edition or something similar.

It's because games have become alot more technical in the past 15 years. Larger and more detailed worlds, better graphics, more complex systems and engines. You know what happened when things transitioned into the 3D era of games? Bugs out the ass, just cause you somehow magically avoided them doesn't mean they weren't there, the N64 and PS1 libraries only have comparatively few games that were well polished, there were plenty that were buggy, and if you looked for them, you could find dozens upon dozens of bugs in even the best games. Speedrunning has categories dedicated to bug abuse in games all the way back to the NES days and beyond.

But most of these things are wrong, that's the main issue with me at least. $6400 dollars thing was already debunked, and what i've seen in Krypt, there is no way it'll take 3000 hours. Towers of Time is really, really hard, but it's being patched next week approximately. Look, i know that gaming industry is at bad place right now, i was also hateful when BF2 was released with it's lootboxes and stuff, but this is different case and i feel that MK11 is being blamed for things that aren't even there.

It was a very simple system where you earned your coins by playing, at a very good rate, went to the krypt and unlocked what you wanted. There was no foundation for microtransactions or loot boxes that far back. There is a massive difference between the system in MK Deception and the system in MK 11, the easiest way to put it is Deception made you feel rewarded, as you earned the unlockables.

If you buy the season pass you get 4 heroes 1 week early for free with an outfit and effect for all of them. But if you want to buy one of them you can easily get the currency in 4 days. Not even hardcore playing these 4 days because the orders you get to earn the most money only reset after a day. So that means like 1-2 hours per day playing for 4 days gives you the new hero you want. No pressure at all it's not with a bs 14hour or its gone or even worse *more expensive* no, they actually get cheaper the more you wait. Oh and the maps, reworks for heroes(which are basically new heroes) and new game modes, they release are avalible for everyone for free

They already know the data how much it would cost to unlock everything with cash and how long it would take to grind and unlock stuff in game.The question you should ask is why when its brought up they always say it wasnt the way they intended and will rebalance it. Games themselves do not cost more, thats just an lie the publishers give us. Just look at all indie games. No most of the budget is going towards hiring over priced actors or marketing.
This is getting out of hand. Any game that offers a premium currency that can be used on RNG chests needs to be considered gambling. Mandate all games with gambling be restricted to age 21 and up, and have a big disclaimer on the game cover warning parents the game uses/promotes the use of real world money to gamble on in game items. Make these games as unattractive as possible when sitting on the shelf or in the online shopping cart.

They just wanna compete with Steam that has the monopoly on selling games and they do it by offering higher interests on sales then Steam does and a higher upfront sum in order to try and get to a better market position. Only problem is users are used to Steam and consider it a better quality platform and that's why there is a backlash... If someone didn't wanna use Steam they could point their fingers at it the same way people are doing so towards Epic Store. That is what I think as a PC Gamer, dunno about consoles.

You lose a match you lose points you risk losing the rank title it should be this way instead for any grinding in a fighting game that doesn't relate to online. A fighting game isn't a rpg, or mmo. If I want to grind I play those. NRS games always had a flaw with the dumb grind idea. Tekken 7 is more generous, and it has a grind to earn fight money. I still don't like it I rather have everything unlocked and play online.

How does a graveyard go from rows of tombstones and koffins to a clearly rng loot chest, because you made it that way. MK had alway had a bit of random to that mode but the random came from not knowing the kontains within not rng or timing thats just a lootbox. If ermac is in row 5 kolumn 3 then that shouldnt change no matter the time or day and nothing else should be in his koffin but whatever I stopped playing after Mileena's mouth was updated to that dumbass design.
Agreed they dont deserve anything but criticism for the way they are monetizing this game. Shadow of War's gameplay wasn't reliant on you buying anything, especially the cosmetics, you got all that by playing the game, the game did give you the premium currency if you wanted to buy stuff from the shop, but each time I bought something from there, it was all garbage, I would get far better orc warlords by simply dominating them during gameplay.
Mortal kombat 11 has 7 different currencies which is fucking ridiculous. If you choose to buy every skin in the game from the store, it'll cost you over 6000 dollars in time krystals.

You know what was fun? Mk deceptions konquest story mode. Where you could explore 6 or 7 (I forget) worlds that had chests that got you charecters, skins etc. I loved the open world konquest. Finding secret places, npc's, and interesting ppl to talk to that would give you short and sweet lore dialog about the area you're in. It had so much replayability.
It's breaking my heart to see this happening to mortal Kombat I literally grew up with mk and had so much love and faith in it just to see it go down the road of self destruction 💔

I remember playing the first MK, it was like magic discovering all the secrets and moves, it rewarded your game play and patience. Now you’re rewarded based on the size of your wallet, and the game itself is designed to make you open that wallet if you don’t have a year to grind out. Sad.

Well I've been Mortal Kombat fan for 20 years since I was 8 years old. And I can say this. I will never buy a Mortal Kombat game, or any game for that matter, that you pay full retail price for initially, that includes microtransactions of any kind in it.
So I'll stick with my copy of MKX, thank you very much.

Just searched it up. You only can play the story mode and tower mode but you can't use the krpyt or tower of time and no skins which is somewhat bullshit for people that don't have wifi. I'ma just pirate the game for the story mode and delete it

I missed unlocking the characters In the 3d mk games. Deadly alliance, deception and armageddon
Even back to MK2 when you could unlock Smoke (I think, or NOOB). AND in MK1 you could unlock a fight with Reptile.

yea true but the gameplay in those games weren't very good, and tbh the fatalities were ok at best, most of them were pretty trash. the only reason deception was decent was because of kabal noob smoke and ermac those are my favorites anyway, but yeah they sure do have a lot of content none the less.
