@@ATVonDemand I love all your uploads! Really like the comparison/shootout vids 🤙🏻 when the guys at work ask for my opinion on new machines I send them to your channel
The DS 650 was my first ride in the dunes back in the day. I can’t imagine what 20 years has brought to the table. I remember leaving everything in the dust. Then the scrambler came about. Yeah. Nice. With that said. The wide trak quads are the ultimate.
Great test! Would love a bike like that, just a bit lighter and more durable. I was a bit nervous you’d blow a tire off the bead in some of those corners. Lots or roll!
It's funny, the tire roll was a lot more noticeable in the video than it was on the machine. We could have added a couple more pounds of pressure to both ends for high speed corners.
They still make the scrambler 850 in a 48" width but discontinued the 1000. They make a scrambler XP 1000 S that is 55" wide. In whooped out high-speed terrain, it would run away from a renegade but probably not in the woods. We doubt that a renegade would get around the track in this video as quickly. This machine is just so wide and stable. The suspension is incredible.
Seen these rolling off the line at Polaris where I work. I drooled a bit not gonna lie. I work on snowmobiles which those are cool but I really enjoy seeing those brand new wheelers 👌
I’m in love with this thing. It is the perfect rig for the trails I ride in Maine. They’re mostly road trail, some smooth and most rough to brutally rough. Very few rock crawling sections or tight trails. The only thing Is that it’s wider but not really longer than other quads. I can’t put my feet back as far as I’d like when standing, it’s a snowmobile habit. I love this thing, it would look great next to my Polaris sled and cord of firewood at my cabin, Camp Freedom 😊❤️🇺🇸
We have thought about rolling the handlebars as far forward as possible And trying to move our standing position more forward to get more weight over the front tires. It is definitely a fun machine especially when you've got room on the trails.
@@ATVonDemand that’s a good idea, maybe a handle bar change on my quad will make it feel like my feet are farther back on the running boards and I’ll be more comfortable. Maybe an adjustable riser block like they have for snowmobiles for a try. Thanks
The biggest thing with Polaris about throttle input is they have it tuned to come in soft and have a bunch of torque management. So everytime he blipped the throttle it restarts the curve of how it opens the throttle body. If you get a tune from RVS tuning all that stuff is gone and it gives you everything as soon as you touch the throttle. Makes a huge difference!!
I own a 2020 Scrambler 1000s. This machine is so underrated until you actually ride one. I also have a 2017 renegade 1000 xxc and only ride it as a change up. There are no boundaries for the Scrambler. It would be awesome to see the test rider/GNCC racer do the same test track on the 2020 Renegade 1000 xxc and provide his feedback.
Scrambler wouldn't last in a racing scenario. Renegade has better clutching system and bead lock rims. Renegade would smoke the Scrambler in the long run anyway
What an absolutely perfect way to show off this machine. No long winded bs, no Gaylord hogging the camera for himself only giving us glimpses of the machine he lured us with. Thank you and bless you.
Polaris should be pushing this way more than they do. With such a Renegade flooded marked, they really have something here with this machine. What a ripper.

That’s a lot of machine to be throwing around, I sure hope it has independent braking, my Polaris quad had the solo brake and it got me in trouble a few times in panic situations
This is such a well made video. The trail riding was just awesome...on point.. and the track jumps and corning was just bad a**. This will be my first 4 wheeler. And a beast one at dat
We are very happy you enjoyed the video! That is a lot of ATV for your 1st machine. Take your time learning. You don't want that machine on top of you.
Someone really had there thinking cap on when they built that track instead of the normal moto cross high jump track..sweet..wow I would of been there almost everyday if I lived close to anything like that in texas..
Probably going to get hate for this, but I own a 22 sportsman 1000S with this same engine and although it's fast, it's not what I was expecting. Another issue is it pushes a little in the corners and it makes it difficult to steer with the rear. Maybe it's just me, but it almost seems like a little narrower would make it easier to transfer more weight on the outside tires for better bite. I don't hate it, but I don't love it neither, and for the price I'd like to love it. Just my 2 cents.
No reason for anyone to hate on you. We have noticed some front and push from this machine as well. The stock tires work better than the after market tires we tried with it previously. Putting it in 2 wheel drive helps you steer with the back end. When they extended the wheelbase 4" compared to the standard scramber, they added all of the added length to the front pbread we think this changed the weight balance causing the front end to push a bit more. Narrowing the machine would allow for a little more weight transfer However, we feel the added front in length is the culprit. This ATV is best suited for more wide open trails.
ATVonDemand. I didn't think about the extra length up front causing it to push, but I think you're probably right. Makes me wonder if a little toe in would help? It definitely handles different than anything I've ever ridden and takes a lot to get used to. I'm 185lb and can't help to think this unit would be more suited for a bigger 200 plus rider with more weight to throw into it. Again I don't hate it, it's just a learning curve. One thing I can say for sure is it's definitely the most plush atv I've ever ridden, but a lot to handle "in steering " through the tight twisty trails here in Alabama.
I have a Polaris far 800s 2014 and I've had that up to 60mph and that's going up hill slightly and had more gas pedal left you would think being a 1000 four-wheeler that would go faster than 62mph being lighter then a rzr. What's the horsepower on that four-wheeler?
@@ATVonDemand I swear, it seems people come on on hear and just comment just to comment and it dont even be making sense.. Love my XP 1000. I owned a quadzilla once and quite honestly, im glad i dont have that anymore
That's very cool but i could imagine a decent rider on a Raptor 700 would put down better lap times!.. And it is half the price and actually looks good!
Considering it’s twice the weight it’s definitely impressive. I do agree the raptor will be faster on the track and probably even on trail. But looking at why you’re riding this is is going to be clearance/width for side by side beaten trails not to mention mud and snow capable but it will absolutely be smoother over rough terrain than the raptor. My personal conclusion... I need both 😉
Maybe but your ass and back and arms will be sore the next day while the scrambler is riding on clouds all day. I keep up with my buddies 1000 and 850 on my 200x but I can’t hardly walk the next day.
