Haha, yeah the "good lord" made his car crash multiple times causing injury and then the last time your "good lord" sent his car into a wall at Daytona killing him. Yes, your lord is soooo GOOD. You clown
I was going to say this is probably the crash that set his fate. He probably had a bad concussion and nobody knew or cared much about those in those days so the next time he hit the Daytona wall hard, that was it
Is it so hard to believe that the Lord let him die doing something he loved? Instead of thinking this was a warning, perhaps this was part of God’s perfect plan…
That was my second NASCAR race that I attended. The first was the 1979 Daytona 500. I was sitting right across from the Pit Road exit and the car hit the catch fence right in front of me. an older woman beside me was quite shaken up and had to be taken away by Medical workers. It was also the weekend that we lost Davey Allison. And also another car and I can't remember the driver's name was the only car ever to leave the track in turn one. I've been to many many Nascar races now I'm quite old. But my first two were quite eventful races by far the most exciting. Just a thought from an old race fan. Thanks for the video I enjoyed seeing that again brought back a lot of memories.
I wish he did quit driving; he could have been the commentator for FOX alongside DW. Neil couldn't let the racing bug die. But that is how it is with some people, they are competitors, and they love being out there, the love for the game.
An hour and 45 minutes under red flag to tie and re-weld the fence back up - while lucky Neil cleaned up , changed and went to the booth to finish the race as a broadcaster !!
He should never have gotten back in the racecar or at the very least not attempted to run Daytona & Talladega, maybe stick to the short tracks & he'd still be here today. I think I heard somewhere that the car he was driving that day was the same chassis Dale won that years Pepsi 400 in only a few weeks prior...
@@douglasboon3587yeah and how things were done those days, they probably just half ass fixed it just to get the race finished. It probably wasn’t even safe 😂
Man it sure was hot that day bama. All them Diehards were pretty warm and nasty. : ) Was sitting in the Anniston Tower with my wife and two daughters that day and it happened right in front of us. Being a huge Neil fan, I didn't breathe until he climbed outa that Mom and Pop's #31. I looked up to the sky and said, Neil, you dodged another bad wreck. (he was still recovering from the Pocono wreck) Please please don't ever climb back into a race car. But 7 months later he's testing Hoosier tires at Daytona. What a shame. Nicest guy you'd ever want to meet and had a super good show on tv too. He was one of my favorites along with Davey and Dale. RIP guys.
The best video of this wreck, its crystal clear in sight and audio.
The Good Lord sent him (Neil) so many messages to get out of racing. That was the last one. He should've listened.

I remember watching this live. As soon as the cameras went to Neil's car, you just knew he got airborne. That in-car camera shot is unreal.
Neil was one of the finest people I've ever known. We still miss him terribly. RIP brother.
Did Neil die in this accident?
Oops, never mind.
@@michaelchamberlain1688 Nope. 1994 Daytona.

The car that left the track that day. Was the 32 machine of Jimmy Horton.
Old RC is a much better guy than today’s Childish RC .
Neil should be in hall of fame.
Was on the backstretch that day. Sad sad tribute2 davey before the start
What a wild wreck for the late driver, miss you Neil
Have a picture of this car when it was at Richard Childress shop, remember how he was breathing hard after the crash.
Bonnet was a great person wish he was still with us!
Neil should have quit driving the next day!! He would still be alive today!!

:30 I never realized the helmet Bonnett was using had Earnhardt's signature on it.
Man. The head movement.
wish he wouldve quit right then but racers love what they do regardless
Debris going into the crowd is nuts

This is actually one of those rare fence crashes where the camera survives
This race also contains superb in car camera footage of Dale Earnhardt.
The fireman putting his fireproof jacket on after extinguishing the fire out
I was their live that day
But , I was on the back stretch sitting that day
That was the hottest I've ever been at Talladega, it took over 2 hrs to fix the fence.
They were toting folks out the grandstands on stretchers.
I have the welcome back Neil they gave out at the gate stickers
Wish neil wouldve retired after this 😢
Damn cars were death traps back then!
His last race before his death. Was there and have the pictures

A year later, HE WAS DEAD
Six months later
How long was the delay to repair that fence?
Per @ervinthompson6598 reply to Mrrubix77323 above ... 1 hour and 45 minutes. Wow, that was one tough hit.

No, he's not ok.
Earnhart ❤number 3 & 31 / mike skinner lowes 🏁🏎
I was there. The hottest I’ve ever been in my life lol

Neil has had so many bad wrecks.
Yep unfortunately one of those crashes killed him :(
Real men racing real cars and hitting real walls unlike the pansy drivers in identical cars today !
Nice and safe while no one watches or cares now lol
