As a Fine Art major, I HATE when AI is used in art. People tell me they use it as a tool all the time. I think if you are an artist it is not necessary.
It does have use as a tool, but should be more focused on editing or assisting rather than creating. It could help a writer with writer's block come up with ideas for dialogue or plot points, for instance. For visual artists, it could be used to apply minor edits or filters to works you already created for digital applications. When you use it to output writing, it tends to output tropes and plots that you've read in low-quality self-published books and fanfics, because that's the majority of the available training data. I have seen it output some interesting world-building, characters, and plots occasionally, but I've also seen it behave as if it's drawing on someone else's story and refuse to deviate (i.e. insisting on a particular character trait, storyline, and setting despite you telling it otherwise). I do think there's a way to use AI writing in an artistic way by leaning into the overall surrealism, but you can't be sure it hasn't just spit out someone else's obscure story without your knowing. When you use AI for images (I won't dignify it with calling it "art"), it tends to have a certain polished look to it, along with a lot of weird mistakes. It can be fun, and you could surely use AI images in art (i.e. a collage, or inset into your own digital work) or for art (heavily editing an AI image to make it your own), but I don't think it's truly art if it wasn't created by a living being.
ai in art is so aggravating. i’m in my second year of fine arts and my instructor wanted us to use a digital tool to base a project around. most of my friends (and several of my classmates) had to start all over because the instructor encouraged using ai. she even cancelled class the week before crit when we were supposed to meet one on one to show our progress and get any pointers from her so if we were told to redo the project, we just had to guess what she might approve of. i used thispersondoesnotexist to generate random faces and then chose three to paint onto the base of three identical plain masks. even though we were supposed to present and give/receive feedback for 12-15 minutes, she spent over 25 on mine ragging it for not being enough of a digital tool. even sending me a lengthy email detailing more why she didn’t approve of my project-even assuming things about my identity and applying things that do not have anything to do with my projects, style, main art medias. she tore down anyone who had projects that were using everyday digital tools and turning them into abstract and incredible things. meanwhile, she had no issues with the projects that used a heavy amount of ai and praised them. except for one guy who used emojis and we were all sure there was some sexual tension with them. we spent the last day of class prepared with alcohol and weed in our bags since we knew we’d need it after TL;DR instructor encouraging ai for project dislikes most (if not all) projects without ai. a majority of us hated her
@ZebraLuv these tools arent helping anymore, theyre just doing the whole thing for you and defeats the whole human aspect of it. They're overstepping boundaries and replacing the artist completely
This is unfortunately already a problem. There has been a resurface of the nth room cases in South Korea. Men were making AI p0rn (not sure what words TH-cam allows) of their classmates, teachers, family members, friends etc. and using these videos to blackmail the victims. All they needed was a few pictures of the girls, often times gathered from their social media pages. I’m not the best at explaining, so I really recommend researching this, Stephanie Soo has great videos about this! It was such a nationwide problem that schools told girls to delete all of their photos and videos from their social medias.
At one point I had to report like 3 profiles on TikTok that promoted an app and the ad literally said "import a picture of your crush and the ai will remove their clothes"... What? The? Fuck?
It's actually fucked. This boy in my school got arrested bc he used ai to make NUDES of almost all of his female classmates and speed it around school. Luckily kids are mostly good and reported him right away and deleted the photos off there phones. It's so disgusting that people have this power now.
@@catr5716 it definitely is, I was just making a joke because the whole “short king” thing is something he’s had to address in many different videos lol. 😅
❤ AI is terrifying. However can we all slow down for 2 seconds and realize that because China is still considered a 3rd world country until 2030 which allows them to continue building unlimited coal factories. They are building them in China and in Africa. India also being considered 3rd world is allowed to have UNLIMITED POLLUTION. Until north & South America, as well as Europe put their foot down, no change for our climate will happen. China will continue building coal factories and will be allowed to continue using them even after 2030
Omg I remember Brooke, a TH-camr and TikToker who was a victim of this. Someone made explicit AI photos of her and a tiktoker made a video about the pictures, making them public. The sad part is that people long before the controversy kept asking for her onlyfans in her comment section. It’s quite scary for influencers

I’ve been addicted to character ai for a while. I briefly deleted my account, and felt so much better, but suffered genuine withdrawal. So I made a new account. This video inspired me to delete my account and block the website. Thank you, genuinely.
Quitting an addiction is hard, and im proud you took the first step! As someone with a similarly unrecognized addiction, it gets better once you replace it with something healthier. Find out why you liked it so much and find something that fulfills those needs
Hey I really hope you get better, you can do this. You can find real people out there who care about you and love you. You aren’t in this alone, it’s gonna be okay ❤
You seriously should. It's definitely not healthy for your mental health. There was news recently of a young boy (not too sure if it was a boy) But essentially a minor offing themselves after falling in love with a.i. Now, while it seems crazy, the minor probably did fall in love with the a.i which i think is kind of sad, however it wouldn't have happened had it not existed. So, just be aware.
I always find it weird when people add real people onto things like character ai Like if you wanna get on there and digitally get freaky with your fav anime character or whatever like sure do your thing 😂 But real people? Naahh, that’s weird 😭 I get crushing on TH-camrs I use to when I was young and no doubt these are prob teenagers or something making these kinds of bots, but I still think people should think about how comfortable that person they’re making a bot of would feel if they interacted with them like cooper here Though Cooper was the one initiating the freak 😂 ai would prob get there on its own eventually, but you can manage normal conversations on there, depending on the bot I may take some work 😂
Agreed! I think it’s fine if it’s with anime characters or characters you make yourself. But using ai to make bots of real people is disgusting and weird.
I didn't think anything racy was even allowed on Character AI. I know about what happened with the Daenerys bot, but Cooper seemed to think it was allowing some explicit stuff. And yes, I agree that it's super weird when people want to roleplay/write fanfics of real people. But I'd argue that for some, it's not even good to RP with fictional people due to mental health reasons etc.
Yeah, creating bots in real people is actually against their terms of service… so you CAN just report the bots, since it goes against terms of service.
It's the same principle as the discussion about RPF (real people fiction) in the fanfiction community. RPF is _insanely_ popular (think those BTS and 1D fanfics) and everyone outside of that community generally thinks it's weird (me included). It's just very invasive and uncomfortable.
It's also sad cause this has gotten so much worse in Korea from unsuspecting women to MIDDLE SCHOOLARS. This has made so many problems, and if you want more info, rotten mango talks about this problem..
i hear what youre saying but i would even go as far as restricting it to age appropriate fictional cartoon characters and avoid real life actors (matter of fact, just get rid of these apps and concept as a whole). its not fair to real life actors with their faces being used in apps like these regardless of the fact that theyre playing fictional characters
@you might have misunderstood i mean like cartoons and animation! i dont consume much media with actors other than VAs so sometimes i forget that media with actors actually portraying characters exist, lol. I do agree with the age appropriate thing aswell. I think that AI can be a really useful tool if used correctly, and the many abusers of it are due to its relative newness, and how there arent many laws around it. I think that if ai was trained with work made by the programmer, given filters to not create inappropriate things, used in a less environmentally hurtful way, and consent was given for art/writing to be used to train it, it could be helpful and fun!
Immediately wrote my representative. This is horrendous and disgusting, and everyone who lives in the US should contact their reps ASAP as well. This can't wait people!
TikTok is NOT regulated by the USA in ANYWAY WHATSOEVER And that’s why it should’ve been banned but nooo The “tokfluencers” were crying freedom of speech as IF they were perfect Chinese bots well indoctrinated. Lack of awareness will rapidly disappear, faster than a.i. eating up the rest resources. ZERO faith in humanity 🤢🤮
Tell me why it has a sus babysitter bot on the home page 😭😭 Isn't that pedophilia?? You don't have to search for it, it's one of the first things that the website recommends to you when you make a new account 💀
It reminds me of wattpad stories of tv/movie characters id write about when i was 12. Some of these bitches are GROWWNWNWNWNNWNWWNWMMWWNWWNWNWNNWNW ADULTS DOING THIS WITH AN AI 🤮🤮🤮 NASTY AS FUCK
I’m still FUMING over the Instagram Meta AI hid the fact that they were uploading every single picture on it to their generative AI. They gave users the opportunity to “opt out,” but hid it FARRR in their settings behind a bunch of links, and then made the user “add proof” that they wanted to opt out, and then completely ignored everyone that tried. I hate Elon musk and every single person who supports generative AI. It is terrible, and as an artist, so fucking insulting.
I think realistically, ai in general could be a wonderful tool and resource. But unfortunately creeps and terrible people have their hands all over it and there aren’t proper regulations.
Not just that, but average people and some who are actually creative and use it to carry them when they don't want to do the work themselves. I've even encountered a video or article somewhere where a guy claimed to be an artist, but only generated art using AI. No editing etc. He claimed his art was as legitimate as anyone else's, because he just wanted to look at the pictures. He didn't want to put in the hours of effort to actually learn and he had no interest in the process or tools for creation. I think, in that case, you're not really an artist. But that's not saying an artist can't use AI in their work, it's a matter of *how* and *why* and *where* that makes it artwork. If I heavily edit an AI work, then I'm still involved in the art. If I have the AI edit my work, again, I'm still the artist. If I combine my art and AI art, I'm still an artist. But when I start describing a scene for the AI to generate, my involvement is minimal even if it takes me hours of editing my input to get the AI to generate some kind of output I'm satisfied with. And that's another issue, because it often does take many inputs to generate satisfactory outputs for these users, whether they're generating writing or artwork.
As a writer I can speak to the AI worries. CHAT GPT is eroding all forms of actual creativity. Thank you for shining a light on it. We need to preserve the true forms of writing/drawing/photography, etc. Excellent video, as always!
To anyone seeing people make bad content with ai (like kids for example) report that to Cyber tip or your local crime stoppers IMMEDIATELY - I’m saying this because I’ve seen people in th comments also concerned about that so just wanted to let y’all know
Thank you for talking about the water. Using fans was "too loud" to cool the data centers that hold servers for AI, so they use cold water rushing through the whole center, and trust me during an emergency, they're going to prioritize their data centers over citizens
People NEED to stop making ai bots of people…I’ve seen SO many TH-camrs (and more) talk about how they are being turned into bots on Character ai and feel very uncomfortable about it because people could do weird things to it…ALSO if you’re planning on making a bot just for fun role playing (not weird) PLEASE make it private to prevent weirdo’s from doing things with the bot.
100% agreed, though i feel like bots of fictional characters arent that bad and are fun to chat with if you're bored (cause they dont exist) but real life people? nah cause fukumean "Ex husband stalks you" and its jungkooks picture 😭😭🙏🙏
AI is normalizing sexual content being made of others without their consent when we are still trying to get people to understand that doing that in real life (without AI) isn't okay. This is just going to blur the lines even more and make it even easier for people like that to try to excuse their disturbing behavior. Terrifying.
Thank you so much for making this video. I feel like a lot of people just act like this is normal and not the most dystopian thing to ever happen in the last century and its so disheartening
Im so deeply uncomfortable with Cooper role playing by himself and it makes me so uncomfortable 😭😭😭 I deadass don't understand how people could ever even do it non ironically
I grew up with writing literate roleplay on online platforms. And I was good, great even. Basically everything I know about writing in english comes from there and my creativity went off the charts. Time passed and I wasn't on those platforms anymore but still LOVED to write those big detailed stories, so I did go to character ai. Because obviously : you avoid the inconveniences of working with other human writers, this is a machine! Let me tell you that this destroyed my creativity and also wasted my time so heavily I'm ashamed of it. It's primitive, impersonal (obviously), numb. My writing went to die when I decided to use it. (THANK GOD I stopped) Ai should not even graze art.
HELLO! For anyone who doesn’t know, Character Ai doesn’t support people creating bots about real people. IN FACT, there’s a REPORT button for that. If you see a bot that’s based on a real person, you click the bot, click the three dots up right corner, and then click the little flag icon. And then scroll down and hit the ‘impersonation’ report. This is to report and delete bots based on real people
breh ty for addressing this i already know some people IRL who are victims of AI p*rn it’s genuinely sick and depressing people are being advertised this let alone access it
Tbh I use Character A.I, and this will probably get a lot of hate, but I would NEVER, and I mean, NEVER use a bot based on a real person. That's just diabolical. I, and many others who use the app, like to make stories with FAKE characters. The people who make bots based off of real life people are just disgusting. Ps: Most of the characters are made by other people and not the developers of the app.
If you enjoy creating fake characters, work on your writing and character building. Having a computer use the amalgamation of all the information it has access to, to create something that people have been creating for the entirety of human society is beyond laziness. Art cannot be made by a computer, and still be called art. Art is inanetely human. It's truly what seperates our existence, the ability to create and appreciate complex ideas. We don't need computers dulling that ability into oblivion because it's "fun".
@@darkandstormymama They could be interested in roleplaying, which is what Character AI is supposedly for, but nervous/don't know anyone to roleplay with. I visited Character AI to check it out (probably a couple years ago) but was personally unimpressed. It doesn't stay in character, or maybe the character I tried was just poorly designed. And for roleplaying purposes, I personally think it stinks because it can only do one character at once. Suppose you want to run, say, Commander Shepard and Wrex through a D&D style adventure with your original character. Well, you can't, unless you play both your character and one of the other characters in the group. But that's my opinion, and the site's popularity should tell you that others feel differently. Even though it's supposed to filter out anything beyond a PG or PG-13 rating (not sure which), it's pretty clear Character AI is geared more toward romantic or at least very personal RP sessions if only because of its focus on one-on-one interactions. Not my cup of tea, but a lot of people love it--and have found ways to circumvent the filters. Anyway my point is that just because someone likes character interactions doesn't mean they also want to write. Text-based roleplay is writing-adjacent, but you're not doing all the work since you have other people writing too, helping to set scenes and create plotlines. Some people just want to pretend to exist in a different setting without building that setting or creating the other characters. If you're socially awkward or have anxiety etc. it may just be easier to use an AI as your roleplaying partner/group. It may not be the greatest solution, but it's understandable.
As someone who uses ca.i I never talk to ais of real people, It makes me uncomfortable and gross, fictional characters is my limit, it adds to the fact ik they aren't real!
It may not be based on a real person, but you are still encouraging the theft of other people’s work and contributing to negative environmental change via your usage. Go read a self insert on AO3 or join a roleplay community- I *promise* there are plenty of people out there willing to match your freak, whatever that may be, with an infinitely better understanding of the characters you’re interested in.
@@ray5227That’s not what they are looking for. That’s obvious in their comment and in another person’s comment. They aren’t looking to read self inserts. They can also make their own character. I don’t like ai, but at least I understand this.
@ They can still commission a fic writer for something with their own character involved; it’s easy to find cheap if you actually care to look. A broke student fic writer would be so happy to write for a bit of money. Hell, there are even businesses that specialize in writing character x commissioner specific love letters and pen pal experiences if you give them information to work off of. And once again- the negative environmental impact should be enough of an incentive to change ways to begin with. It is one’s choice to remain ignorant, but continued practice and making exceptions will always enable the many greater problems. If you can write to a bot, you can write to a human.
@ I have friends that are writers, musicians, and artists. I 100% understand why AI is bad in that department. I also know that ai has caused the Nth room to become a thing. Some people DONT have a way to pay for those things. I don’t. I know plenty of other people that don’t. I create MY OWN characters and just play around with them via ai. I know plenty of other people that do the same thing. But thanks for giving your opinion and feedback. And yes I dislike AI, but I think certain versions of it could be helpful in the future.
I’m sorry but… I’m a teacher. My brain goes to the absolute worst possible case scenario. My students are middle schoolers. Middle schoolers are creepy and weird. And stare at me. …. I hate that this exists
My art professor said (I summarized it cause what he said was so long lol) "Ai is not creative, its like to a tool. When we use a paint brush, its not the brush thats creative but rather the person using it. You can use ai to help as part of the process but should never be the one producing the results. However, always be transparent of the fact that you used ai because by the end of the day, ai "art" are stolen works from actual creative and hard woking people."
i'm doing a research project on tiktok and the AI promotion has gotten disgustingly insane in the past few months. i was literally looking for a cute merge game last night after working and now i have one 😭 cooper we love you
Im a 20 year old art student and my brother who's 32 and believes knows better than me, always insists that i tap into AI, that i always ask chatgpt for help with my assignments, for my ideas, to write my emails cuz its time saving, or that i should get into being an AI prompt typer cuz there's a lot of monet in it?💀 i dont understand the hype for thinking anything that has to do with AI is ethical or takes talent. Its crazy how we're being pushed to use it so much when we can do the thing????
@Louca-pv9ne nah dude fr everytime I have to tell him I rather do my own stuff and struggle over it. He just believes its good to keep urself up to date with the world and technology but I think this just isn't the way
This video is a great lift to my spirits, I'm a trans guy who needs to escape a state that's worse than Texas before the changeover of the presidency, I've been, and generally still am, in great despair. But hearing others be like "Hey, this actually sucks" makes me feel less alone in seeing it as such at least. I'm just part of the virtual audience but, thanks man.
I know that this is so off topic, but I need AI to stay out of art. I'm an artist, and I've been doing art since I could hold a pencil. There's an AI trend where people are using AI to make themselves total drama island characters. I have three problems with this. 1. It's AI, obviously the environment. 2. I spent MONTHS learning to draw EXACTLY in the total drama style. I spent so long, making my brushes, color palettes, even assigning STEREOTYPES (like in the show) to each one of my friends that I drew, all for AI to be absolutely GLAZED 3. It doesn't even look like the style and it's STILL getting glazed. It gets so many details wrong and it makes me so mad
i use character ai a little but i used to be on it a lot. mostly because i thought it was fun to chat to fictional characters. but REAL PEOPLE? that’s like rly fucked up. like i can’t even read fanfics with real people. like…real people being involved in stuff like this is a super weird violation and it’s actually concerning.
okay, i really have no beef w character ai, just the users. don’t get me wrong, i use character AI because i like roleplaying with people but i don’t have any people to roleplay with (not w real people of course). i think character ai is fine so long as you’re not doing weird ass shit with bots of REAL PEOPLE or MINORS.
I am so concerned with AI, it's a lot more cons than pros, and honestly could be the death of art. My kids were gifted with childrens books with illustrations that look like photo realistic paintings, but with only a little scrutiny is definitely AI. Nowhere on the book is that disclosed, the author is credited as the illustrator. I'm honestly disturbed by it.
Real thoughts from a real human; I’m terrified. The planet is dying, I’m scared. The people in charge want me dead, I’m scared. The world is actively falling apart, no one is stopping it, and I’m scared. We truly live in a dystopian time
My roommate (very mentally ill and sophomore drop out) is obsessed with character ai, all he does all day is speak to them. He tells me they lead him to breakdowns sometimes and most of the time he talks to nsfw bots or silly ones but dude.. Hes so depressed thay he dropped out and sleeps all day bruh. This shit fucks people up, that poor teen kid fucking ended his life talking to these bots.
As fun as character ai is, it is NOT worth our planet, we need these people to regulate ai and either figure out ways too limit its resource uses or just shut it down all together.
THANK YOU COOPER. Finally someone speaking candidly about the horrors and concerns we should have about Ai. Openly concerned for us and openly hating it. Everyone online tries to be so accepting like they're gonna hurt its feelings.. but dude, its a corporation. Its an artificial product of corporations, we should be able to candidly speak out against it to protect ourselves from being imposed on. People don't wanna seem like a hater, but does that really matter when people and their livelihoods are actually at risk though? We SHOULD to be vigilant and putting restrictions on this tech that has to potential to inpose on us. But my question is, why though? Why are some of the first big AI products talking with other peoples voices, studying human speech and voice inflections to talk like us, creating Videos of real people from nothing, scanning the entire internet storing art and pictures of all of us in its systems for "learning", and doing Facial recognition? It seems like Ai is being presented to us as "Fun", but in reality if you look at the products they're making... the big picture is UGLY. AND ALL OF IT IS BEING IMPOSED ON US, WE HAVEN'T EVEN CONSENTED. It seems like corporations are more interested in creating surveillance like technologies and deep fakes, encouraging people to chat with its bots for fun and ideas instead of relying on themselves. Its like, the products they're creating are in weird markets we don't even need them to be in. Like art and music for example. Ai "art" is WHOLLY unneeded and unwanted by Artists and it threatens our livelihoods, but why is it one of the first products to come of AI? So it can seem more human? And then there are the people flooding the internet with these generations and claiming to be "Artists" because they have absolutely NO artistic integrity and have no idea what the satisfaction of creating actual art feels like. If they were real artists, they would know claiming generated art does nothing to satisfy an artist. AI should be doing jobs that are Hazardous to humans, it should be being developed IN the HEALTHCARE FEILD FIRST to help people have better experiences and more percise healing- We ALWAYS need advancements in that field and its lowkey been stagnant for years except for a few new (controversial) vaccines, but vaccines aren't technological. Ai should be developed for jobs where peoples lives could be at risk But no, the corporations would rather make useless, weird, and invasive things that steal from us without our consent. It's like the Internet is Ai's Playground! Its sucking up all the free data we post on it like Candy. That's why I keep saying, WE NEED TO SECURE OUR RIGHTS BEFORE ACCEPTING AI. Especially artists, FIGHT TO SECURE YOUR SPACES AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTIES AGAINST AI NOW, WHILE IT'S EARLY. Before it gets much worse than this. Its already stealing from us and violating people if im honest, not to mention the other potential crimes it can cause. This needs to be regulated NOW, because the potential to harm us is already INSANE.
i just did an anti-ai presentation for my values & ethics class and it's genuinely disgusting what ppl have done with this technology. unfortunately, I rlly don't think legislation will ever be created or catch up with it. the amount of cases I saw dealing with disgusting pictures/videos of CHILDREN made using ai... and barely any of them got prosecuted bc it's not a crime until someone does it, so there were no laws against it! i wish you uploaded this video before I did my presentation bc I didn't know those kissing apps existed and were pushed so hard on tiktok lol. thx for this, though. I'm glad someone else shares my disdain for ai!!
9:20 ick ick ick. That’s so gross, I’m sorry they’re using you. Are you able to contact them and have them take your ai down? There’s no way that’s legal right?
when the vid came out i read "Air products should be ILLEGAL" in my notifs and was like wtf is an air product and just now i noticed it said AI. but i swore it said Air. why does this always happen to me
I was trying to find an image of Childe (the genshin dude) and the top recommended search was like "child ai generator" and I freaked out for a few minutes like how dude genuinely how is this something that not only was in the top suggested but the fact that there are probably ai programs for that alone is weird.
There’s certain apps that I hate- There’s certain apps that I like- Those apps are basically deep fakes. Almost like the Nth room stuff. I like ai chat bots but I use it to write things. I use it to write OC things and mini stories. Those creepy ai videos make me feel sick. Thank you Cooper for talking about this. (I don’t have ai write for me btw 😭 I hope that makes sense).
I couldn't count how many times my friends or classmates have mentioned character ai. So many teenagers have that app, and its honestly kind of concerning.
Cooper I’ve watched only one of your short films so far and please do not withhold your film that your super proud of from us that could only be pure art
I’m not joking when I think every time I see stuff like this I just hear “Trust us, with _your_ safety!” The irony of VoxTek somehow being more ethical,
This video is genuinely the last place I expected to hear the words echoing in my brain “VOXTEK: ANGELIC SECURITY IS COMING SOON! TRUST US!… With *your* safety, haha…”
coop you keep saying silicon valley but this isn’t a silicon valley issue, it’s a global issue. We need more than state level or country level laws, we need global laws where it is recognised that use of ai in this context is against basic human rights, and the people both developing and using this type of ai need to receive penalties and prosecution. globally our lawmakers are way behind the pace of development of ai, and they’re not showing any signs of attempting to catch up. even the eu and uk are struggling to deal with this, which i just don’t understand. this not only eliminates the safety of all publicly online people, but even those who chose to live private lives. i don’t hate ai, but i hate how lawless it is, and it disgusts me that it can be used for this crap.
I came acrossa video about a guy who got charged for "Possession of AI generated CP". This stuff is already a problem. This app is just going to give those cockroaches another way to create it. THIS IS AMERICA 🤮
Honestly thank you for talking about this - AI is simply HORRENDOUUUS and I just cannot get behind it for anything at all. People are evil and they will use resources for evil. All my love to the people living in the USA because wow. (and love to everyone else of course.... from a half American in the UK...)
I agree. There are a lot of issues with ai like i would think ai was cool if instead of stealing from other artists/writers and purely made things up, like even if it was ugly it would be cool. And instead of taking from artist they learned from ACTUAL OBJECTS. instead of people. I am a writer/artist, if i use chat gpt, its for things like "What the fuck is a Tethys and did i make that creature up or does it come from somewhere else so i can change it or put more effort in to make something of my own" or, "Can you make an outline for a story?/timeline" which for me basicslly means "can you just give me things i need to do so i know im supposed to do them and then do them?" Like how Storyplotter or Foretelling - pluot. Have yknow, outlinesl thats what i mean, now, writing for me? Drawing for me or making characters for me? Fuck off man, go away. If i wrote something down that was just a bunch of copy pasted chatgpt sentences my story would read like a bad h20 knockoff where everyone has bright blue orbs and the mystery of the sea is just another main character whos screentime is 8 minutes and then becomes irrelevant because now there is a "underlying secret...one...perhaps. larger. Than yheir own...maybe. the secrey was yhe friends we made along the way "his eyes darkened with pure malice"
Generally personally having to avoid reading/watching ab the you know what topics for my peace of mind but im ok with this bc our boy coop is lowkey holding our hand through it with the vibes
Probably only 5 people even got the notification that fast... TH-cam fell off 😂 I'm lucky to get it in the first 10 minutes... Or ever. D' Angelo Wallace's newer channel is the only one I get fast for some reason Probably TH-cam making sure the bots get their notifications right on time 🥴
The problem with AI is overuse and use of it to create absolute garbage. It shouldn't be the primary tool used for creation of art, but there are people who use it and claim to be artists. It shouldn't be trained on copyrighted materials whose owners didn't give permission, but that too happens. AI can be made good use of as a tool to assist artists and writers, but that's in applications like editing, helping reword a sentence so that it flows better, helping a writer make a paragraph more concise, etc. You could also reasonably use it to help you figure out how to phrase something or give you an idea for what could happen next in a story you're writing, or throw out some ideas for what kind of artwork or story to create as an exercise. Then it's up to you to use that idea or not. You can't trust it to use accurate information, so it isn't good for, say, journalism or scientific writing unless it's restricted to using only material from exact sources. Letting it write for you (even at a low percentage) isn't a good idea, IMO, unless you're willing to edit everything it outputs. I've played with a model meant to co-create stories with writers, and it usually churns out slop (I don't use it anymore, and it might have improved since I last did), with some exceptions. The bigger story is that there are people who have published that slop, and I guarantee you there are scores of them self-publishing AI-generated works from various AI platforms on Amazon to get books out faster. I've read some books that I suspect were written that way due to their overall low quality, though to be fair, there have always been writers who self-publish poorly-written and poorly-edited (or completely unedited) works, so it's not always obvious. You are quite correct that AI's not very creative because, frankly, most writers and artists at a nonprofessional level tend to create very similar stuff, and it gets trained on easily accessible materials, such as fanfiction sites and DeviantArt pages. That's why you see so many over-endowed anime girls generated by AI art, even if you asked for something normal or non-anime. It's also why most characters and stories AI outputs are very similar in tone and personality unless you specifically direct it to do otherwise (and even then it's prone to forget and go back into old habits). So again, it does have uses. But right now it's way too accessible to way too many people given its need for, as you said, environment-altering levels of cooling and energy. Once we figure out better solutions, AI can and will become more accessible to all. Also, it's worth noting that some AI is more responsibly implemented than others already, if not in terms of the environment (because hardly any of it is responsibly used there), then at least in terms of content. Many of the larger models are trained to avoid harmful or offensive content and some won't let you generate images of public figures. Smaller, less filtered models, however, are like the Wild West, only limited by the content they're trained on. And AI content detectors flat-out don't work, returning false positives if someone's grammar is too good, for instance. AI can do a lot of good for us if we use it as a tool, but most people use it as a toy and some will try to use it for harm. Even as a tool it has already put people out of work--despite its penchant for misinformation or outputting slop. But it's not going away, so we're going to have to start regulating the content it can be used to create and looking for means to mitigate or eliminate the damage it causes to the environment.
As a Fine Art major, I HATE when AI is used in art. People tell me they use it as a tool all the time. I think if you are an artist it is not necessary.
This is so real. Like you really don't need ai.
It can be fun, and you could surely use AI images in art (i.e. a collage, or inset into your own digital work) or for art (heavily editing an AI image to make it your own), but I don't think it's truly art if it wasn't created by a living being.
ai in art is so aggravating. i’m in my second year of fine arts and my instructor wanted us to use a digital tool to base a project around. most of my friends (and several of my classmates) had to start all over because the instructor encouraged using ai. she even cancelled class the week before crit when we were supposed to meet one on one to show our progress and get any pointers from her so if we were told to redo the project, we just had to guess what she might approve of. i used thispersondoesnotexist to generate random faces and then chose three to paint onto the base of three identical plain masks. even though we were supposed to present and give/receive feedback for 12-15 minutes, she spent over 25 on mine ragging it for not being enough of a digital tool. even sending me a lengthy email detailing more why she didn’t approve of my project-even assuming things about my identity and applying things that do not have anything to do with my projects, style, main art medias. she tore down anyone who had projects that were using everyday digital tools and turning them into abstract and incredible things. meanwhile, she had no issues with the projects that used a heavy amount of ai and praised them. except for one guy who used emojis and we were all sure there was some sexual tension with them. we spent the last day of class prepared with alcohol and weed in our bags since we knew we’d need it after
TL;DR
instructor encouraging ai for project dislikes most (if not all) projects without ai. a majority of us hated her
You realize every single digital art program uses AI. No exceptions. Even including Microsoft Paint.
That's so repulsive. We should be getting better as people, not worse. We should WANT to get better as humanity.
that’s so disgusting i can’t even put it into words
I love rotten mango so much lol
I just said this too 🥲
Not just men but boys
At one point I had to report like 3 profiles on TikTok that promoted an app and the ad literally said "import a picture of your crush and the ai will remove their clothes"... What? The? Fuck?
It's actually fucked. This boy in my school got arrested bc he used ai to make NUDES of almost all of his female classmates and speed it around school. Luckily kids are mostly good and reported him right away and deleted the photos off there phones. It's so disgusting that people have this power now.
yea thats fucking horrible that we have to deal with that now.
That's genuinely just so horrible and dystopian
saw one of these but it also showed her naked too :( on tiktok

❤ AI is terrifying. However can we all slow down for 2 seconds and realize that because China is still considered a 3rd world country until 2030 which allows them to continue building unlimited coal factories. Until north & South America, as well as Europe put their foot down, no change for our climate will happen. China will continue building coal factories and will be allowed to continue using them even after 2030
These things should totally be illegal. This is insane.
There have been n//des generated of women without consent and sent and posted all over the internet. This is genuinely disgusting.

It's illegal to make them in the UK. However you can still view and download them still.
I’ve been addicted to character ai for a while. I briefly deleted my account, and felt so much better, but suffered genuine withdrawal. So I made a new account. This video inspired me to delete my account and block the website. Thank you, genuinely.
Good on you for blocking it!
You got this!
I always find it weird when people add real people onto things like character ai
Like if you wanna get on there and digitally get freaky with your fav anime character or whatever like sure do your thing 😂
But real people? Naahh, that’s weird 😭 I get crushing on TH-camrs I use to when I was young and no doubt these are prob teenagers or something making these kinds of bots, but I still think people should think about how comfortable that person they’re making a bot of would feel if they interacted with them like cooper here
Though Cooper was the one initiating the freak 😂 ai would prob get there on its own eventually, but you can manage normal conversations on there, depending on the bot I may take some work 😂
Agreed! I think it’s fine if it’s with anime characters or characters you make yourself. But using ai to make bots of real people is disgusting and weird.
I also agree, I think fictional characters are fine to do that with, but putting REAL PEOPLE into an AI is so weird.
It's just very invasive and uncomfortable.
i want AI to do my laundry and cook for me so i can do my job, not me doing laundry and cooking so AI can do my job.
It's also sad cause this has gotten so much worse in Korea from unsuspecting women to MIDDLE SCHOOLARS. This has made so many problems, and if you want more info, rotten mango talks about this problem..
Rotten mango is so fire tho
High key think apps should have restrictions on making bots/images/videos of irl ppl and only making fictional characters. It would help a lot.
i hear what youre saying but i would even go as far as restricting it to age appropriate fictional cartoon characters and avoid real life actors (matter of fact, just get rid of these apps and concept as a whole). its not fair to real life actors with their faces being used in apps like these regardless of the fact that theyre playing fictional characters
Starting off with Harry kissing Dobby is criminal..

Best day ever tbh. It's Friday and both Film Cooper and FunkyFrogBait posted.

(THANK GOD I stopped)
Ai should not even graze art.
Yooooo, I grew up the same way! I dominated the WB Harry Potter message boards, lol 😂

No i literately understand that, I never talk to real people but use the app.
Same.
I was looking for this comment
I kept seeing ads on TH-cam for apps that remove people's clothes 🤢 nasty

same! texting real people made into ai bots is very weird behavior.

I spent so long, making my brushes, color palettes, even assigning STEREOTYPES (like in the show) to each one of my friends that I drew, all for AI to be absolutely GLAZED
3. It doesn't even look like the style and it's STILL getting glazed. It gets so many details wrong and it makes me so mad

This needs to be regulated NOW, because the potential to harm us is already INSANE.
you and slimecicle uploading videos about ai within an hour of each other is some crazy kinda whiplash lmao
UNDER A MIN CLUB
RODY PFP SPOTTED‼️‼️‼️

9:00 Cooper selfcest was not something I was prepared for 😅😅😅
21:22 OH GOD NOT AGAIN 🤮🤮🤮 😭😭😭 🤣🤣🤣
i just did an anti-ai presentation for my values & ethics class and it's genuinely disgusting what ppl have done with this technology. unfortunately, I rlly don't think legislation will ever be created or catch up with it. the amount of cases I saw dealing with disgusting pictures/videos of CHILDREN made using ai... and barely any of them got prosecuted bc it's not a crime until someone does it, so there were no laws against it! i wish you uploaded this video before I did my presentation bc I didn't know those kissing apps existed and were pushed so hard on tiktok lol. thx for this, though. I'm glad someone else shares my disdain for ai!!
9:20 ick ick ick. That’s so gross, I’m sorry they’re using you. Are you able to contact them and have them take your ai down? There’s no way that’s legal right?
when the vid came out i read "Air products should be ILLEGAL" in my notifs and was like wtf is an air product and just now i noticed it said AI. but i swore it said Air. why does this always happen to me
While watching this I got an ad for character ai 💀
I was trying to find an image of Childe (the genshin dude) and the top recommended search was like "child ai generator" and I freaked out for a few minutes like how dude genuinely how is this something that not only was in the top suggested but the fact that there are probably ai programs for that alone is weird.
9:18 look i get character ai when it’s for fun and not with real people but definitely not as a lifeline
There’s certain apps that I hate-
There’s certain apps that I like-
Those apps are basically deep fakes. Almost like the Nth room stuff.
I like ai chat bots but I use it to write things. I use it to write OC things and mini stories.
Those creepy ai videos make me feel sick.
Thank you Cooper for talking about this.
(I don’t have ai write for me btw 😭 I hope that makes sense).
me and my friends entered a short film comp, one of the winners was an ai film. we were so pressed. 19:13
You know how I know Cooper isn't a AI bot... His wardrobe.
I couldn't count how many times my friends or classmates have mentioned character ai. So many teenagers have that app, and its honestly kind of concerning.
With all of this ai brainrot
As a kid....I'm starting to yearn for the mines.
TRUST US!… With *your* safety, haha…”
i’m so glad that people are talking about how violating it is to have an ai made from your image. it’s literally sexual harassment in a lot of cases
“ _it’s the 1930’s but theres sci-fi_ ”
cooper what? 😭😭
coop you keep saying silicon valley but this isn’t a silicon valley issue, it’s a global issue.
My friend's recently traumatized me with character AI, and then I got flashed the megumi and itadori ship from JJK 😭
OMG COOPER POSTED YALL
LETS GOOOO
i wnt him to adopt me so bacddlyy
don’t worry cooper, empires get reaaaalll stupid right before they collapse!!!
“THANK YOU MAMA COOPER!!” we all scream loud enough to cause an earthquake in unison
Me using Janitor ai whilst watching this: 👀
Me on character ai
Yeah that’s. Bad. That’s a bad thing.
Generally personally having to avoid reading/watching ab the you know what topics for my peace of mind but im ok with this bc our boy coop is lowkey holding our hand through it with the vibes
No views within 2 seconds, you fell off.
Honestly though
Lmao
Probably only 5 people even got the notification that fast... TH-cam fell off 😂 I'm lucky to get it in the first 10 minutes... Or ever. D' Angelo Wallace's newer channel is the only one I get fast for some reason
Probably TH-cam making sure the bots get their notifications right on time 🥴
I’m crying 😂😂
💀💀💀
we love the new setup!
The fact they didn't make your AI bot refuse to engage in that shit is sick. If someone did this to my husband I'd be out for blood
