  • Wonderful snorkeling trip to Cook Island on the Gold Coast.
Cook Island is a small island that is about 1 kilometer off the coast of Tweed Heads.
Technically Cook Island is in New South Wales, but most people associate Cook Island with the Gold Coast. Tweed Heads is an area that straddles the border of New South Wales and Queensland, and is about 45 minutes drive south of Surfers Paradise.
Cook Island is a Nature Reserve that is protected by Australian law. This helps protect the many species of animals that live on and around the island, including both marine animals, birds and others.
There are many resident Green Sea Turtles that live on and around the island, and you can almost guarantee to see them there when you visit. They are super cute and quite friendly, because they are very used to snorkelers and divers being around them.
Some people call Cook Island Turtle Island also!
Apart from turtles, there are many other marine species you will encounter at the Cook Island Marine Reserve… If you visit the Gold Coast, we hope you will get a chance to visit Cook Island also!
Hope You Enjoy Our Cook Island Snorkeling Video :-)!
