Nice video except for the fact that you were inside of the dashboard for most of it

I would have also checked if the patient can open his mouth (just in case he vomits and/or I needed to do something about his Airway later). What do you guys say?

Not really part of this station. Great real life thinking though.

You left the patients arms stretched out for too long and never told him to put it down.... he had to put it down when he got tired himself. But good job though

Excellent video, my concerns audible small grunts from patient to breath after chest straps were secured.

I was taught that the correct order for the application of the straps was middle, bottom, legs, top, head. Is this incorrect or does the order not really matter?

Rallypoint EMT NREMT...Now,this demo should have occured with the patient in the driver's seat of the auto for a more real scenario. I assume that the patient must be first extracted from the confinement.

He was kneeling where the steering wheel is supposed to be. How will he do this skill in real life? Also left the tails of the colored chest straps unsecured.

The order of the straps is NOT wrong if you are participating in an NREMT skill station. The order for the straps as it relates to EMT candidates or NREMT testing is as follows: Middle, Bottom, Top, Legs, Head. The head is always secured last.
If you review your NREMT sheet line #7 reads: Secures the device to the patient's torso.
Line #: 10 reads: Secures the patient's head to the device.
In addition, under Critical Criteria, line #: 5 indicates it is a critical fail if the head is immobilized to the device before the device is sufficiently secured to the torso.
I understand the Ferno Users' Manual for the Model 125 KED lists the order of the straps as Middle, Bottom, Legs, Head, Top (page 19) however; following the manufacturer's instructions instead of the NREMT skill sheet is going to set you up for failure.

You didn't assess for step off or trachea midline nor jvd before putting on the collar, and you didn't assess for DCAPBTLS on the back before putting him in the KED. This would have failed you at my school.

video needs to be updated with the proper procedure. This would have failed a correctly administered NREMT assessment station. Middle, Bottom, Legs, Head, Chest is the correct order
