- Basse de cromorne (Suite du 2me ton) by Louis-Nicolas Clérambault performed by Ben Bloor in a live recital on the 64 stop 1989 Mander organ of Rochester Cathedral on Wednesday 29th May 2024.
Parisian-born Clérambault was the organist of St Sulpice, and later took over from his teacher André Raison at the church of the Grands-Jacobins. He left behind two 'organ books', each containing a variety of melodically-driven movements. At the heart of the second suite is this lively 'Basse de cromorne' which shines a spotlight on this distinctive reed stop.
Ben Bloor is Organist at the London Oratory Church and School Organist at Westminster School. For more information, please visit www.benbloor.com
