Look how they butchered Tracer for example, nobody liked that stuff. And from a design stand point having more body variety with women leads to more diverse designs, look at male characters in games like Guilty Gear, very different from one another, then the girls all kinda have the same body but GG still has a lot of variety, but in tekken every girl is flat as a board, and every guy also kinda looks the same. it doesnt hurt to make their bodies look different at least, we dont need Chun-li tree trunks thigh but just a change in silhoutee is already a good improvment
