    I remember watching this episode as a child and it scared the living shit out of me. The moment that will always live on in my memory is when Bean smiled and slowly backed away into the darkness with those glowing eyes. I don't know what it was about that scene but I couldn't sleep that night. Every time I tried to close my eyes I felt like something was just... watching me. • @irkenpony17
      @irkenpony17 3 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      @Gobzo Raon they are saying the episode feels like what the general lost episode themed creepy pasta stories SHOULD feel like, which means done correctly or rather it feels like it's a horror story that CAN happen because it feels "realistic" for what the typical lost episode stories should be like.
      There way a lot of co fusing stuff there but hopefully one of the sentences gets the picture in some way, since it IS a real episode and is official, and it isn't a creepy pasta. qwq;;;

    This was one of my favorite episodes from All Grownup. I thought it was really creepy with Bean's glowing red yes and discovering the rotted remains of the missing settlers, who apparently died playing cards. That alone is scarier in context because they either died due to starvation, hypothermia, or some other reason and they played cards to distract themselves from their pain. Always wondered what exactly Bean had to do with the settlers because he's clearly haunting the camp, but he started acting weird when they got closer and closer to finding the corpses.

    • @Tally64
      @Tally64 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      My guess is that Bean was related to one of the 3 who was stuck in the mine. He was pretty young, so he must've waited for them before dying himself. Maybe he had a chance to leave, maybe a Native American offered to help him, but he stayed sure his family would come back. Perhaps over time he felt disconnected to the past and what he was waiting for, so he made the camp his home. He acted pretty normal and not out of place.

    There’s only, like, 3 episodes of All Grown Up I remember (if you don’t count the Rugrats All Grown Up special, which I consider to be the pilot and not an episode of the actual show) and this is one of them.
    If you’re curious, the other 2 are the one where Angelica was a Candy Striper and the one where Chuckie got obsessed with Yu-Gi-Oh.

    I LOVED this episode as a kid, I thought it was so cool! I admit I was never really affected by cartoon horror like this, probably because I always knew a kids show couldn't really show anything too hardcore.
    But you know what episode scared the hell out of me when I was young? The one where Susie gets scammed out of a bunch of money, and her sister goes on about how much worse it could've been. That stuck with me hardcore, because I'd been approached by women like that, and they always gave off a weird vibe that I couldn't put my finger on until then.

But what scared me the most was when Chuckie heard the monsters voice but Tommy didn't indicating that it was all inside Chuckie's head of over active imagination of his fears.

    Great video, this was a favorite episode of mine from any cartoons I watched growing up. Nickelodeon used to do great Halloween specials. It did kinda strike me that you refer to the theatre play story as "filler". I felt it was more akin to an A-plot/B-plot. the theatre storyline (B-plot) contained a complete story, had a good moral, and was funny as you said. The theatre storyline also did a good job of giving context/insight on the relationships of all the characters, which is important when using an extended cast. This is important to providing the spooky part of the episode (A-plot) higher stakes, more emotional investment, and better continuity. The pacing of the episode is very in-line with mid-2000s Nickelodeon cartoon episode structure, one-half of an episode per story (See: Spongebob, Fairly Oddparents). All that to say, it was great episode and I appreciate this video, it's really cool to look back on the cartoons of my childhood and think more technically about what made them so good.
