Thanks for sharing your cactus shopping trips. Watching your videos really helps me with my depression. I love cacti but I only have a few small ones since I can't afford them. These videos are great!
You are so welcome! I'm glad these videos provide a little bit of joy to your day. I am so honored to be able to share these nurseries with you. Where are you located Nancy?
I feel like it was only yesterday that i visited B&B....oh wait it was! 😂 so awesome to meet you at plants 4 the SW yesterday afternoon. My wife was the one that recongnized you and i turned and looked and in my mind shouted Jenny!!!🎉 sorry if i was weird at all,i feel like i can be a little socially awkward at times 😅 anyhow, cheers and as always thank u for the awesome content you create for all of us to enjoy.
Oh my goodness, not at all! I'm the one who's awkward lol. I have run into cactus folks at nurseries who I follow on social media and approaching them to say hi. If I ever see Ana from cactus caffeine or hunter from cactus quest I will completely fan-girl out. It was so cool to finally meet you in person and in Tucson of all places of course. Hope you got some good stuff on your trip!
Ha, ha...your question: Can this be ever repottet again? I don't think so! 😂 Have a nice weekend, best wishes from Martina from Germany! Thank you for taking us along.❤😊
I just L❤VE going shopping w/u❗ I can't believe it's already been 2 whole years since we ;last visited B&B! Wow.... Thanks again for taking me w/u! It's really nice cuz u know I can't get out much & we don't have cactus nurseries within 4 hrs of me, so it's always nice to go with U 😊 Im with ya on the soft succulents! They are pretty and all but I can't keep them alive, I've had my fair share of deaths. I think it's the heat here too, getting in triple digits every summer. Yeah, pass on by those succulents lol You have Amazing will-power! I would be having a FIT and taking out every credit card I have at the ready! Lol, u help give me encouragement & I am out of room too also. Think about when it's time to report our cacti I'm another year or 2! They say every 3-5 years. I have dates on all my tags, I guess I will cross that bridge when I get there. I will be writing u soon. Don't think I've forgotten about u! I sure do appreciate what u did for me, more then I prolly know/realize. Hope u had nice holidays. Tell Cookie I said Hello & give her a kiss from me. Thanks Jenny, we love u!!! Sincerely, Anita
Awww, Anita! Thank you so much for all your kind words 💚 I'm so glad you enjoyed shopping with me at B&B. It's really crazy how much time can pass and we don't even realize it. I felt like I was just there with my Mom at the 1000 subscriber celebration and here we are, 2 whole years later. It's absolutely wild. I got your messages on Instagram and will be responding soon. I appreciate all the love 🙏🙏🙏💚💚💚 sending your love to Cookie too 😻
My Cookie 😺😺😺 Just this morning I saw a dark thing scuttling around in the yard, of course it's my thrasher neighbor. I often stare at them through the brittlebush while they stare back with one wide orange eye. As destructive as they can be, I don't blame them. Sometimes if I don't see them for a while I get a bit worried.
That's a terrific choice (thanks for the opuntia pan), and well priced. I'm definitely pro buying time for money, especially the columnars: some of those plants are beautiful. If you budget well, you can have some very impressive specimens (but that takes planning). Happy New Year. Nice Eriosyce buy, and that Melocactus is gorgeous.
I’ve always wanted to go shopping in a nursery in Arizona. This is the next best thing. Thanks for taking us along. Feels like I’m there shopping, but I don’t get poked nor spent a single penny. 😜
wowwwwwwwwwwwwww ‼️ ‼️ ‼️ I have prick envy, however I would be in astronomical trouble if I lived anywhere near B&B 😅😅😅 At least I know where to go if I ever want a whole thelocactus collection 🙌🙌🙌 Thanks for taking us along 👍
Love B &B cactus farm and love that you took us shopping with you! They keep growing and getting better! Cookie is a good supervisor- your plants are looking amazing! Thank you for the tour.
Great video; A+. I’d love to go there. Thanks so much for not larding up your video with lots of noisy music and editing. My favorite videos are simple, quiet ones like this.
Thank you so much for the feedback! Good thing you like the simple style because it makes it much easier on me during editing. Hope you get a chance to visit B&B some time!
I do! I have a video on my soil mix, in short 3 parts pumice to 1 part cactus mix: th-cam.com/video/Ebh2cEFDGNc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KlmBEMFC1V906cys. My favorite top dressing is decomposed granite. Those community pots have a mix of all sorts of rocks, leftovers from nursery pots, rocks from my parents yard, DG, whatever I had lying around.
@@cookiescacti OMG, this place is enormous. We spent over 2 hours walking around. Everyone who works at B&B is so lovely. They asked us how we heard about this place, and we said Cookie's Cactus. Ok, so we didn't buy anything exotic. We got 2 baby saguaros for our boys to grow, 1 blue glow agave, 1 artichoke agave, 1 golden barrel, 1 Glory of Texas, and 1 Mammillaria Grahamii Olivae. My son also bought a bunch of rocks. Their rock collection is impressive, too. Can't wait to go again, likely next year, as it's so far. I want an old man of the Andes. Thanks again for introducing us to this place.
One of my favorites too! I wish it was a little closer to where I live but also don't wish that at the same time lol. They do have the nicest staff and amazing plants!
❤ Love these shopping tours. Their inventory here is incredible and diverse. Love all the large cacti staged in pots. Thank you! Hope your 2025 is a wonderful year for growing.
The cactus with the beautiful cephalium at 6:09 is Coleocephalocereus brevicylindricus, also known as Buningia. That specific specimen is my favorite cactus in the whole world and I visit it as often as I can. They also have quite a few juvenile plants, which you passed by at 23:24.
Ohh so they had them in stock! Do you know if this species is related to or similar to aureus? I ended up finding (and buying a couple of) aureus at Bach's.
@@cookiescacti Cactiguide has a page for Aureus and lists Brevicylindricus as a synonym, so I think it's the same species. Brevicylindricus is the name the owner at B&B gave me for their plant. Mine are 3-4 inches tall and I'm waiting patiently for them to mature and grow a cephalium.

To protect the tips from freeze damage.
