This is my rendition of old rare footage of Yangon which I got from TH-cam ,a massive thanks to MichaelRogge. I enhance the footage quality with After Effect and Premier Pro.
Notice there were a lot of Indians both muslims & hindus brought in from India by the British as laborers & etc during their rule. There are a lot of Islamic Mosques in Yangon. The Local Burmese at that time were minority & mainly lived outside of the city.
@@eddie30991 You are correct. I didn't mean to imply they were brought in as laborers in 1930. They were the decendents of their forefathers that came to Burma between 1824 & 1937 but born in Burma.

I don't think it was from 1953. It must be much earlier, like in the 1930's. Thank you for presenting an old Burma film.

This footage is from the 1930s, so most of the Muslims and Hindus you see here are the descendents of workers brought by the British, born in Burma.

not 1953 it's 1935 bro.
Could be fooled to thing this is San Francisco or a modern western city in this time period. Surprising how far it’s fallen
indeed.
British colonialism wasn’t so bad after all.
