In your videos it looks like you have a big shop. Could you give us a tour of it? The Videos you did on making conch where do i look to get some of that tooling. If you are just getting started will a regular sewing machine work for sewing backing on hog dog collars. Thanks for your time and video on here.

I am a very amateur leatherworker and your videos have been extremely helpful in helping me to understand some techniques. Particularly this one. I guess that I am a little old fashioned, but really like buckstitched leather. I have done a number of belts, but am finding it hard to locate lace that works well for buckstitching nowadays. This is the first video that I have seen, which really does a good job at demonstrating beveling. I know that making these videos takes away from your business... But I want you to know that I appreciate your taking the time to make them. Thanks again !

I had to go back and look at this again. I've been learning to do some lacing and I didn't want to purchase it from the store. I love the idea of the saddle soap and will definitely try it as I think the hair's on the backside would lay down like they were almost burnished by the time you finished going half way down the belt. Love it, thanks so much for doing these video's, it's like a little encyclopedia that I can go back to when there are questions. :)

Because of wetting the leather does that make a difference on how tight or slack you pull the string through the holes? To allow for shrinkage. Love you work.

Great video. First one of yours that I watched, learned a lot. Question, when your pulling the wet lace through the leather hole. Does the shape of the hole matter. Or are you simply "breaking" the lace to make it more pliable/floppy. I would assume it would take the shape of the hole being wet but...anyhoo i'm off to check out your other vids.
I start with different sizes of round holes and after a little use they reshape themselves that's why I have a variety of holes punched in my pull through. But like you said it is used just to break down the stiffness of the leather. Thanks Bruce

Hi I've just bought an Australian strander and was wanting to ask a few questions first can you use veg tanned tooling leather? Second how do you get the curve out of the lace and third when I've stretched the leather and go to resize it doesn't seem to bite into the leather and runs through the strander the second time without actually resizing, regardless of how tight I hold it. Any help would be great thanks

5 to 7 ounce which is just a little heavy. I have an old leather splitter that I pull the laces through and take it down to about 4 to 5 ounce.
