After seeing how a cargo ship is loaded with coal in the below video, I wanted to see how the trains that bring that coal to the ships.

I try to explain the basics of how a train is loaded in this video.

I found an interesting article while researching this video from the University of Cincinnati. A group of faculty and students were given a safety tour of the facility in 2019. The article shares everything that's done to keep the workers safe in a potentially very dangerous industry. It's worth a read when you have time:

This video was a lot of fun to film and I really hope you enjoy it.
I will post the link to it's Kentucky counterpart as soon as it's published.
Let me know what you think and please add any additional info in the comments.
Until our next trip, I hope you have a great day! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

I believe if you put the timestamps in the description TH-cam automatically shows them as chapters in the video.
Thank you. I was not aware it automatically did that.
I'll add them to the description.
Nice work again Christian. Great drone work and editing as usual. Always like the fast speed action, can’t imagine how slow it must look in real time. I look forward to your videos because I always learn something. Thanks for another informative and entertaining video. Amazing what it takes to keep the lights on!
Always glad to hear you enjoyed the video, Terry.
This was an interesting and fun one to record.
I did have to remind myself to not move the drone so the sped up shots wouldn't look too shaky.
It was a lot of hit record and wait for a few minutes.
Great Video Man! It’s always Cool to see Railroads get the Job done! Great Footage as always, and Great Narration! Keep Up the Spectacular Work! 👍
Hey Jackson!
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
This was a lot of fun to record.

i once hauled coal from the Gibson, IN mine to the Princeton, IN mine. i drove a daycab with a 39 foot frameless end-dump trailer. i will say the Beelman drivers were nice to the company i drove for at first but then they got kind of irritated we were there.

Your very welcome and thank you very much also.@@nkyrailfan
nice video
Get that coal moving American needs you.
Thank you! very cool. The coal has to be dropping through that chute at such an incredible rate to fill a car in 2 minutes perfectly like that. I wonder how many tonns/hr it's doing.
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the video.
It is incredible how quickly it's able to fill up those hopper cars.
If I find out how quickly it's able to fill a car I will let you know.
Get every video you can get as much as possible. Because. The rate this Administration is going. Mining coal is coming to an end.
Lots of batter power for the electric cars
Do you know what's in the white tanks?
I'm not sure but I think it's water to spray onto the coal when it's hotter and drier outside to prevent fires.
Just a guess though.
Did anyone notice anything at 50:19
I've watched it a few times and am not noticing anything. What am I missing?
Уголь самая дешевая энергия. Обогрев дома, паравозы.
That sulfer dioxide gas from burning high-sulfer coal turns into sulfuric if released into the atmosphere. It precipitates out as acid rain. Those sulfer scrubbers are an absolute necessity on hi-sulfer coal-fired power plants.
I ❤ coal. I live in Norfolk VA. Norfolk and Western used to roll coal train's around the clock . now not as much ships would be lined up in Anchorage at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay 15 to 20 now it's not as much. Miss those days it would put me to sleep at night clackady clack over the diamonds .
@PatrickBryan-kn5fn I'm actually planning a trip to Lambert's Point and the Newport News dock this spring.
It looks like an incredible area.
Any information you can share would greatly be appreciated.
that's a slow loader there's some that'll load a car in minute flat!!
I'm hopeful to check out some other loaders in the future.
Let me know anywhere you know that has a faster loading time.
I'd love to record it if I can.
@@nkyrailfani've heard there's some that will do a car in minute flat but where they are? i know there's one in southeast Kentucky that's under 90 seconds a car if the mine is still open!!
I support coal trains around 4 ever
Completely worthless without captions!
Narrator talks a mil-a-minute, can't understand a word!
