The Bluwolf Gamer very faithfully, too. A lot of people, including myself when I was younger, knocked on Tekken’s characters for not having many special moves like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, and the most ‘special’ things that could be done for the characters were either giving them a sword or making them fire lasers out of their forehead. I’m actually in a similar situation with Blackdoll here, how he subconsciously favorited a character who practiced the same martial art he was without even realizing it, I favorited Jin for pretty much any reason everyone else likes him, like how he looks cool, his story’s badass, Devil Jin, so on and so on, but I never differentiated the different fighting styles when I first saw the characters, since I only understood martial arts as “the stuff Jackie Chan does”. I just looked at Eddy before and thought “ok, this guy’s a breakdancer”, but after studying martial arts, primarily Kyoukushin Karate (here’s where I am before realizing Jin’s style) and hearing my dad talk about some of them like Muay Thai, then coming back to see the game again, I look at Eddy now and think “ok, this guy’s a capoeirista”, and Tekken has become one of my favorite one-on-one fighting games because of how despite its wacky and cartoonish quirks about it, it’s very faithful to the actual martial arts being displayed on the game itself.
