コクド・王子製紙・日本製紙クレインズ・日光神戸アイスバックスのアジアリーグ加盟日本勢４チームによる2005－2006開幕集結シリーズが当時のコクドの本拠地サントリー東伏見アイスアリーナで行なわれました。 このシーズンはアジアリーグ３年目、ゴールデンアムール（ロシアハバロフスク）が抜け、カンウォンランド（韓国春川）とノルディックバイキングス（中国北京）が加入、日本４チーム・韓国２チーム（ハルラ、カンウォンランド）、中国３チーム（ハルビン、チチハル、ノルディックバイキングス）の９チームでのレギュラーシーズン開幕となりました。 The 2005-2006 opening series between four Japanese Asian League teams: Kokudo, Oji Paper, Nippon Paper Cranes, and Nikko Kobe Ice Bucks was held at Suntory Higashifushimi Ice Arena, the home of Kokudo at the time. This season is the third year of the Asia League, with Golden Amur (Khabarovsk, Russia) leaving, Kangwon Land (Chuncheon, South Korea) and Nordic Vikings (Beijing, China) joining, 4 teams from Japan, 2 teams from South Korea (Halla, Kangwon Land), and three teams from China(Harbin, Qiqihar, and Nordic Vikings).. The regular season began with nine teams.
