Nice to see you back! Wishing you wellness and peace. As a 70+ year old woman, I also love books about other 70 year olds. Thank you for adding one more to my TBR. 💕💕
Great recommendations as always. I recently read Sipsworth-Simon Van Booy, about an elderly lady who moves back to England to wait for her death and the relationships she finds herself in. I think you'd love it. Heart warming quick read.
I just love the way you talk about books, Russell! You have a way of concisely describing a book while adding your own take that always makes the book sound intriguing. I like how you keep the taste of the viewer in mind. You frequently say,”If you like books that…” or “If you are a fan of…” You are so warm, approachable, and extremely knowledgeable; the way you talk about books make them seem so intriguing that it makes me want to pick it up even if it’s not my typical genre (fantasy, for example). Hope you stay healthy, happy, and safe. I just finished The Vegetarian by Han Kang, which I loved; brilliant. Getting ready to start Mayflies by Andrew O’Hagan.
You are too kind to me. I am so glad that I have been able to help you find a book or too. I loved The Vegetarian so much. So worthy of the Nobel Prize. Happy Reading my friend.
It's always great to see a video from you. I happened to see an Instagram post by Maiga Doocy the other day, and she said her name is pronounced May-guh.
Welcome back and good wishes for your health. I always enjoy your book videos, you are so very enthusiastic about the subject. As a fellow book enthusiast I both understand and appreciate that. 😊 I am currently reading á book in my native laguage Icelandic. It is based on our Icelandic sagan, takes place in the 13th century and is about á era when my countrymen came closest to civil war. Killing and battling each other, but no guns, only swords, spears, bows and arrows. And yet it was basically á feud between two powerful families for power. At the end of this era my country was no longer independent nation but rulef by Norwegian king and later Danish king. And we would not gain full independence until 1944. But the book is good, but alas has not been translated into English to the best of my knowledge. Sorry for all the spilling mistakes. I tried to fix them but the Phone did not co operate. 😢
Hi Russell! good to see you back... missed your videos...Do take good care of yourself so that we can see you a lot more 😊 I just finished reading The Coast road by Alan Murrin a few days ago... I found it really good! And currently I'm reading Love Marriage by Monica Ali which so far has been very engaging....
Hola… I’m currently reading Demons by Dostoevsky & a Joni Mitchell bio by Ann Powers. I got An Explanation of the Birds by Antunes in my TBR. Recent reads that I enjoyed were There Are Rivers in the Sky, Martyr!, & a reread of Hunger by Knut Hamsun. I was repelled by the neatly-packaged (ness) & positivity in The Midnight Library… ha!
Wow what a list. I need to get back to There Are Rivers in the Sky - I stopped for some reason. Loved Martyr. Sounds like you have some great reading going on.
I'm glad you're back! I've just begun, finally, The Fellowship of Puzzlemakers. I DNF'd Natalie Jenner's new one; not for me. The new Matt Haig sounds good, I also love the older lady stories, but after The Midnight Library (loathed it), I'm not sure I'll trust him again. Blue Graffiti also sounds good. I recently loved The Berry Pickers, by Amanda Peters, if you haven't checked it out yet.
Fellowship was lovely. I agree - didn’t love Jenner’s new one as much as the others. I am really liking the Haig. Finished Blue Graffiti and wanted to love it more but it was okay. I have The Berry Pickers - and have meant to get to it soon. Happy Reading
I’ve had my 👁️ on The Bog Wife since you mentioned it in a previous upcoming releases video, and now my 👁️ is also on A Life Impossible, as I too love a mature protagonist . 📖🪱💚
I am sorry for all the spelling mistakes in my earlier post. I tried to fix them but was not successful in doing so. 😢
All good - I make mistakes all the time.

Thank you so much. Love 70 year old women :-) Some of my favorite people.
Life does get lifey. I am planning a good size pre Christmas haul shortly, some of these might make the list.
That is a pretty good way of putting it. Love a good pre- Christmas haul. Hope you pick up one or two.

Love Sipsworth - maybe in my top 10 of the year. Just made my heart warm.
Thanks for the recommendations. Walk Softly on This Heart of Mine sounds like a winner!
I am really enjoying it. I hope you pick it up. :-)
hope you feel good as new real soon russell...
Thank you my friend. I will be back to 100% soon.

This book sounds great once it gets translated to English for me. And no need to apologize. Thank you so much for watching.

Thank you so much my friend. I just looked at Love Marriage on my shelf today! I need to get to it soon.
@InkandPaperBlog Have you read The Coast road? I think you will like it....
I adore Nghi Vo’s writing! I had no idea she had a new book out. Thank you for the review. Have you read “The Chosen And The Beautiful”? ❤
I am so glad I could help you find it. I have read The Chosen and the Beautiful. I think I have read all of her books if I am not mistaken.

Best books I’ve read so far in November
The Snow Child
Clear by Carys Davies
Hagstone
The Snow Child by Ivey? Loved that book so much.
I’ve had my 👁️ on The Bog Wife since you mentioned it in a previous upcoming releases video, and now my 👁️ is also on A Life Impossible, as I too love a mature protagonist . 📖🪱💚
I hope you love them both. We are in a world of so many great books lately.
Currently reading Hum by Helen Phillips after having finished most of the Booker shortlist 📖🪱💚
I haven’t ready any Phillips since her book that was on some award list. What was that called…. Hmmm. I need to read more.
