It's official! The Socratica Python Kickstarter was a success! Thank you to all of our supporters. Because of you, many more Python videos coming soon!! 💜🦉
It states in your kickstarter that a steady stream of videos will begin on December, 2019. You've reached your goal and received the funds. Nothing came out. str"SEVEN" months later you blame the pandemic for the delay, while your deadline has passed long before it was declared a pandemic. Something stinks here.
@@pilattebe I tried, that works. Does that mean True is now a variable assigned with boolean value False? Why is it even allowed to define a variable name the same as boolean value True then? Thx

We're so glad to hear you say that! We've started a Calculus series! It's hosted by our co-founder, Michael Harrison, who is a mathematician. Here's the first video in the series, What is Calculus: bit.ly/SocraticaCalculus
The fact that you can use the int 0 and empty strings as "false" values is especially helpful. Also keep in mind that None also is a false value, so a function that might return the value None can be checked for this output before attempting to do stuff with it so you don't get a NoneType error.
False values also can appear with empty lists, empty dictionaries, and other classes. I wonder what special __ method has to be overridden to provide this kind of functionality for custom classes.
I want to learn b-splines, singular value decomposition and nuclear physics from Ulka. It will take a good long time, it will be deep yet gentle, and I will be unhappy when it's over.
I think when we do 2 == True it compares 2 and int(True) which Flase cause int(True) equals 1 where 1== True it's True what you want to have, you should do bool(2)== True which gives you True Wish that you understand :)
Every video I watch, I get scared I'm too dumb to be doing this. I mean, the simple question of what's "10 * False" and rather than immediately saying zero like I knew the answer to, I just said FalseFalseFalse..... 10 times. :/ I don't know why I blurt out things I know is wrong.

*True* or *False*: There is more to booleans than simply "True" and "False".

I want to learn b-splines, singular value decomposition and nuclear physics from Ulka. It will take a good long time, it will be deep yet gentle, and I will be unhappy when it's over.
Thank you for making it interesting! Most tutorials are boring!
So if you start with a number, bool it, then int it, you reduce it to either a 1 or 0 which can then be further calculated.
Presenter not Vulcan but played one on TV 😆 Good explanation.

Thanks for the information but I have a doubt? Does boolean work only in Idle Shell?
OMG your voice is amazing!
This video really helped me..thanks wanna know more bout this stuff
does the principle of wider type apply here? python takes the bool and converts it to the wider type int...very cool
sharing, also adding to my yt playlist. thank you for your videos!
goatcheese guru you should see if you can find a gig reading ebooks or radio, you have a good voice for either.
Very nice tutorials...

Philosophy: There is not an absolute truth
Also philosphy when you reach the logic subject: ⊤ means that the statement is unconditionally true.

great video!
The hot chick just got you another subscriber. The good videos helped too.

A boolean can only have two values, and the cyclic group of two elements is a-belian. Coincidence? I think not (or false)!
You never smile. But I laugh a lot.
That is the point. To say funny things with a straight face and not a hint of humour in the voice. :D
Your python tutorials are awesome !!!
It will be better if you will share the slides for this playlist ....Please ...
Thanks in advance

All desires are to write apps
All apps require language
Therefore apps desire is language
Enthymeme of language is desire because of write
great content. I wish you if you would have used your normal tone of voice.
bool(2) returns True that's fine. But when I compare like this
2 == True it gives me false
Where 1== True gives me true, can you explain on it plz?
I think when we do 2 == True it compares 2 and int(True) which Flase cause int(True) equals 1
where 1== True it's True
what you want to have, you should do bool(2)== True which gives you True
Wish that you understand :)
all these cause Python will convert the narrower type to the wider type and in these case boolean is narrower than integer
Wow this is so different from most tutorials. Why did you spend so much time with the visuals and editing lol.
THANKS A MILLION
Please Socratica do update a note on python Algorithm
Contracrostipunctually, bool("False") = True.
Thank you very mach that's help me a lot :)
