Thankyou for sharing this. It’s great to hear his thoughts and about how his band & songs came together, especially now that he’s gone. 🎸🪽🥀💔 Rock on forever, Eric.
Larisa, Thanks so much for allowing me to revisit this time frame in my life. During the years that Eric is describing...Choir/Cyrus Erie /Quick/...ect. I was involved in so called basement/garage bands trying to cover most of the same groups that Eric was. In fact going to the Agora/all 5 different Hullabaloo's across Northeast Ohio, if Eric and his bands were doing it, WE'D want to do it as well;-) He was our local hero who was making a name for himself, and we were very proud. I have the fondness memories from this period, thanks so much, God Bless You!!! Bruce;-)
Great interview. Thanks, Eric, for the great information, your sincerity and thoughts about record companies and remastering. The information about the Pre-Raspberries was great, as was the information about the origins of power pop, Clive Davis, and even your thoughts about Progressive Rock, some of which I happen to like, though not a lot:-) I loved the explanation of the influences that made Go All the Way!
I totally agree with the interviewer here: "Ecstacy" was the most underrated song of the Raspberries. It is in some ways a better song than "Tonight". It doesn't drag as much as "Tonight" and has alot of energy that doesn't wane...until the song ends! Jim Bonfanti does some really interesting (and quite frankly "flashy") drumming in this song that you don't typically hear from rock drummers...particularly in the studio. Wally Bryson sounds great in "Ecstacy" as well! This for me is Raspberries best "power pop" offering.
Great interview-Discovered the Raspberries-by listening to @eddietrunk on @siriousxmradio volume channel 106, crediting them for #goalltheway As his inspiration for getting into the Rock n Roll business. I'm glad I heard Edward talk about the Raspberries on his show. Now learning more about Mr. Carmen's vast career because of your show- Thanks
Que voz maravilhosa!!! E, continua lindo, mesmo para com a idade que possui! A idade reamente, está na mente! Nada mais! Ele é muito estiloso e lindo!!! Anjo grisalho fofo!!! 😍😍😍😍😍🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Wow, didn't know Eric and Billy had the SAME agent......what a shame that agent couldn't get Eric signed to Columbia back during this days!!..wow, this is a bombshell for me and my music pop history. Damn, maybe Phil Ramone could have been producing Eric, or maybe even Sir George Martin, whom Billy turned down in favor of Ramone!!! Oh well, se la vie

Bob, this is the record I had a happy chance to make using my comp while listening 88 7FM WJCU radio station during online translation. It was late night (in my country) and I uploaded it straightway. Be but when I wake up in the morning I have found that my TH-cam account got the complaint of copyright infringement and the warning of the account removal. I had to delete the record from my account. I cut off all the songs and then I could upload the record again. If you interested in the total record please find me on Facebook and I will gladly share it to you in private message.
Those incidents happened years ago when he was going through a rough time emotionally . Seems he came out on the other side without hurting himself or anyone else. Let it go!!!!!

Belongs in the Hall of Fame!
Fascinating interview!-Eric Carmen is truly a gifted individual.
Eric was so intelligent, so handsome, so gifted with his music. Yes, he was truly blessed. RIP 🙏 ☮️ !!
Eric Carmen is awesome! So generous while sharing his creative processes and insights. I love him more now than ever. He's so cool.
esmeraldaluv; I've loved Eric Carmen since "Go All The Way." He should play with the Raspberries again. They had a great sound.
Couldn’t agree with you more!
Wonderful voice! 😍
Great interview. Nice to hear Eric's thoughts.
He's one of the Best.
Love love love

“Who’s Bob Gaudio?” 😂. One thing you can say about Eric Carmen is that he knew exactly what he liked and what he didn’t!
Great interview
We miss u Eric
Rest well Eric

It is good to say together in joy. Thank You.
I feel blessed to own the Cyrus Erie and The Quick singles. I am a big Carmen fan.
Hall of fame please!

I agree with Eric Carmen. I don't like long meandering guitar solos either. Give me a great song! I always ask "Where's the song?"
+ Larisa .. I did enoy the interview I'm glad you uploaded it ..was curious why there were no songs ..thanks for your reply ..all the best..thanks

Amazing interview! Interesting to hear his take on other bands. I didn’t like the doper or sloppy looking bands either.
why didn't they leave the songs in the interview.jeez Eric talks for 5 minutes about the song then if fades..where's the song ?

26:23 Eric Carmen is no fan of Eric Clapton.
Jealous?
I sincerely doubt that a man as talented as Eric Carmen is jealous of anyone...Clapton doesn’t move me either.
@@cathymarshall4956 I agree.Clapton does nothing for me
The only song I like it Eric Carmen was ALL BY MY SELF. This it is!
I loved all his music.
ALL OF IT IS GOOD
He is the best of the best. He could sing anything and it would be magic….
he has a serious alcohol problem - he has been arrested twice for DUI - i hope he fixes himself and doesn't become a menace to his community
If u have nothing nice to say then shut up

@@lillianlemister5027 sorry he is an awful person
@lillianlemister5027 that's sad. Did something bad happen to him?
