The last story made me cry :( when they cut down the fairy tree... so sad... i wish people would have more respect for nature and its sacredness.

At least a new tree came from one of the seeds. I hope it remains there for a long time. I hate it when big, old trees are cut down.

When I was little my grandmothers friend had a fairy house in her backyard. She firmly believed in fairies and had tributes to them everywhere! She spoke to animals and trees, claiming she could hear them. I thought she was weird and a bit crazy but every time I was in her house I felt happy and a sense of belief flowing through my body. Anyways, one day I was playing in the backyard when I came upon the fairy house. I stared at it and saw something fluttering around. It was a bright pink ball of light buzzing around the small house. I immediately knew what it was and went to tell my grandmother, but when I came back it was gone. I've been looking for the impossible ever since.

Regarding the _"Woods Helper"_ story: Just for 'grins & giggles' I googled "woods helper" this morning, and -- I guess not too surprisingly -- one of the first links I got was the blog you have listed in the description.

It's crazy how I did not connect Menehune ("dwarf people" of Hawaii) with the fay... The Menehune are associated with the sight of a fiery glow and that reminds me of all the stories that talked about seeing orbs of light. My mind is blown right now lol

I have a fairy story....a friend of mine once owned some land on which she kept horses, and some times she'd go out to the barn, unlock it, and find that the horse's manes and tails had all been neatly braided. This is consistent with some Irish fairies who are very fond of horses, but the exact name of such creatures eludes me. Also, has anyone reported any recent encounters with the lhainnen sidhe....a vampire-like Irish fairy that feeds on poets and musicians like a supernatural Courtney Love. It would be interesting to see if anyone has done so!

fairies that do chores and farm work are called brownies. if you offend them they stop. and you should leave an offering of milk for them by the hearth.

I really like your retelling of the magical realm of the Fae wild i truly believe that if a person is stout of mind and body and maintains a stellar moral compass we will be privileged to see into that realm that is in our realm and also at once a separate realm apart from our own .. If we believe and do our best to be good persons we will be blessed with unexpected boons such as finding money where none was before and seeing beautiful magics that can only be described as otherworldly thanks again I subbed and liked and will be back

Scary Fairy Godmother You may take this telling to your link, so I release this story: The land that I live on, is a ranch, but at one time before Whiteman came to this area, I think that this must have been scrub brush desert. The land is only a short distance away from the Columbia River, in Washington State. I do many chores on this ranch and one season, I had to replace the waterlines, which go from where out house pump is, down to the corralled living quarters from our horses. I rented an excavator and dug down the depth necessary to safely place the new water lines, so that they would be safe from winter freezing. This process is usually a mess, because by the time one gets all the lines connected and seated, this is about a two days process for most.' One evening, when going to check on the horses, I was where the top-most new line would go into a frost free water valve and I had seen movement within that corral paddock. At first I thought it was some person in a tan leather lambs wool collared coat. '"The funny thing was, I that only the upper half of it's body materialized". I saw it, it had registered, so I hopped over the trench an plywood to keep the horses safely out and ran into that particular horse paddock. There was nothing at all in it. No person, nor sign of life, or that anything had gone through it. Sometimes when I looks towards the river, which is about five hundred yards away, I sense that there had been an Indian village there, complete with structures and people cooking. I think what had occurred was a time-slip to where I had seen a native Indian spirt and it just wanted to let me see it. This place I feel is enchanted. I am of partial Gypsy extraction, and would never just sell the place, to some developer. Although it's not my faith, I honor the Indian chiefs of the past and the people that have gone here before me. I can see no other way to relate to the land.

vrendus522 Time slips are quite common to those that are sensitive to them. It happened to my brother and I when we went to visit our grandma at her work in a huge old mansion that had been converted into a Care home. The grounds were beautiful, and we were playing in ‘The Secret Garden’, lying upwards on a slope, looking towards the house and we saw people dancing on the lawn in ball gowns, hair piled up, feathers in their hair, was a scene hundreds of years old. We just lay on our stomachs watching these people dance then ran in and told our grandma and mother, I’m nearly 50 now and remember it clearly to this day, I’m sure it was a time slip rather than a spiritual event. ❤️🦋🙏

I am an arborist and I take care of sickly trees that are dying from improper pruning which leads to an insect infestation they eat the tree from the inside out so even one badly cut branch can die begin the process and spread to the rest of the tree thus killing it. I identify strongly with the last story I love my job being able to preserve or plant new life for other living creatures to inhabit and benefit from their shelter and sustenance. At the times when I do have to cut down a large dangerous totally dead tree I make sure (if possible) to plant another in its place. I know when I’m old I can go back around and find the trees I have been able to rebirth so to speak and it will be as beautiful as the day I planted them.

So the first one is a gnome, you see, we used to have them pretty much all over our old house when we lived in the woods. They don't like to be disturbed so if anyone ever meets one please don't scream or get freaked out. Around where I lived there were quite a few of them. The second one was 110% an elf or pixie. Although pixies are very mischievous so I'd say elves.
