George Barnes was a genius, pure and simple. He started playing professionally at the age of 12 with local dance bands; at 14 he was leading his own touring band; at 17 he was the youngest staff player with the NBC Orchestra, also working for the Decca label. He was one of the earliest, if not the first, to experiment with electric guitar. As a session musician, he recorded extensively, including uncredited work on a good few chart hits of the 'fifties and early 'sixties. Sadly, he was only 56 when he died.
@@SirBasildeBrush - around forty years ago, I came across an LP in the music section of the public library "The Uncollected George Barnes" on the Hindsight label (there was a long series of 'Uncollected' LPs by a huge variety of bands and musicians from the '30s and '40s) which simply left me speechless with wonder. They were all tracks recorded around 1948 by his Octet, and most of them are available on TH-cam if you search. They have all since been re-released on CD. It was only years later that I discovered just how many classic pop hits had featured his playing.

Thanks for the information, I didn't know any of that. He was a talented man, and you're obviously a fan.

Very atmospheric with some excellent guitar.
Has a great menacing rhythm to it, and some excellent twiddley guitar moments.
I kept watching, wondering what would happen.
Great song selection! Thank you ♪
Thanks, and delighted it held your attention.
