That looks really nice man! Yeah I'd be interested in seeing how you're doing this. I experimented with the toon shaders in Houdini with actual simulations, but I could never get a great looking result like this from it
This is insane, Please tell us howw I have a feeling it starts with directional vectors and then animate the width across curveu with some noise, u then turn it to vdb i suppose, but im sure you have some magic going on there that i cant wrap my head around, gradient sdf or dialate maybe ?
Thank you! The background was hand-painted to match the style of 90's DBZ, yes :) You can see how it was utilized in my "Goku Transforming" demo in my channel.
There's actually nothing special about the shader either. None of this reinvents the wheel and anyone can pull this off by just observing and using tools that are already there. The only thing that might be special here is that it's procedural and dynamically responds to parameters without a solver.
