In the first month of season 1, I used to upgrade the resistance chest pieces mostly for flame domain; I rarely use the stones to upgrade now but I tend to save them to upgrade chest and gloves pieces in case since stones, chest and gloves pieces are difficult to farm. If in the future they make these stones more accessible maybe through the exchange section or through weekly challenges it would be amazing.
I’ve tested about as many epic upgrades vs legendary upgrades as u can and it seems to me that the rate of getting a +3 or +4 is WAY increased when using philosophers stones on them. Also the % stats seem higher on epics than legendary and so on epics % stats seem to be around 7-8% while legendary is around 4-6% it seems
I usually just sell off epics and upgrade gear ONLY if it has two of the stats I want on it. Upgrading to +4 on Legendary gear to see what the fourth substat will be is a smarter strategy for saving gold than blindly upgrading stuff. I used to hold epics and Philo them, but the Legendary Philo's are so rare for F2P in the game that the gold was more worthwhile. As for mythics, I've got four pieces now (two from the free ones we got today, what a blessing). However, mythic gear is problematic shit. The fact that most pieces are chest and glove with NO WAY TO REROLL MAIN STAT is trash.

You don't obtain enough philosopher's stones through out the season to upgrade a lot or gear or am I missing a place wear you can farm it daily ?

What about a flat piece with good percentage bonuses
Nope flat pieces are dead after you pass lvl 70 on your heroes

You get them from the battle pass, the Pillar of Trial and the Fey Meander
