Thank you Richard weaver. The films you have made is very important documentation of the rock and roll era and musical history. - Thank you, absolute awesome work you have done and superb videos. Brilliant : )
Mick Ralphs belonged in this band and Paul Rodgers should have gone to Deep Purple to replace Gillan. BAD CO was a lameass band compared to those two CLASSIC bands.

Was my very first Mott The Hoople single and I was sold and over the moon with it. Well, I haven't looked back unless it was for a record that I didn't have. Such great rock 'n' roll and can sing along too
I first heard part of this album in 7th grade, buddy of mine's older brother owned the album. So my buddy borrowed & played "All The Way From Memphis, Whizz Kidd, and Honaloochie Boogie for me, maybe played some others too, but those stuck with me. All of those are on my phone now so I can listen to them anytime. 😁
Thanks again for this wonderful video of Mott the Hoople. Hope for the Golden Age of rockn roll. Fabulous good quality, would have been even greater without watermark. Thanks again
Oh my, snake bite…that brings back some fun memories. Yukon Jack and lime juice, correct? Had an afternoon of snake bites that turned into an evening before crashing once. Love them, but my gosh, moderation would have been nice.
This has 1970's running right through it. Not the most prolific recording act, mainly a live act, with their own following. Still sounds great nearly fifty years on !
Mick was so much better in Mott than in Bad Company, as, He said that He would never have left, after realizing how influential They later became. Shame, as They should have lasted longer, as when Bender joined, it was.all downhill. Love their earlier albums...
Ah i Love them all ...I always thought Mick was suited off better with Bad Company ... Ariel brought a beautiful kind of chaos playing on "The Hoople" and especially the live album...but then they brought in Ronson and it was all but over ... shame...but we got 2 great albums for '75 with Ian's first solo plus "Mott-Drive on" ! So I wasn't as devastated as I thought I was going to be ...
Hi Richard. I have just uploaded a version of this music video, using your upload here as the source video. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/c9SwG7yKRl0/w-d-xo.html I have credited you in the description, and presented a link to your upload. I have improved the sound quality and the picture-sound synchronisation, and I have altered the colour, which I consider to be an improvement. To replace the audio track with a high-quality one involved speeding up the footage, as it was running a bit slow. To get the picture in sync with the sound took quite a lot of work. On your version, not only does the picture run late compared to the sound, but some parts of the video have the picture running later than others. I had to use speed adjustment software to get the different scenes in sync with the sound. There is still one short passage of the video in which I think the picture and sound may be out of sync, but I could not tell how they were supposed to match up, and trying out different options did not succeed in finding a combination that appeared any more in sync than the original combination. This passage occurs between the 0:50 and 0:54 time-points and is a close-up of Pete's bass-playing. Thank you for uploading this, and well done on making an otherwise excellent music video. I had never seen it before. This single was the first record I ever bought and I still love it. I was seven.
Four days later. I have decided to upload a second version, and this one is only different in that it maintains the original colours, as I am not sure that my altering of the colours represents an improvement on them. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/6F1AcJguqPc/w-d-xo.html UPDATE: (Sat 25 Mar 2023): I have just replaced this one with a new one which has superior audio quality, and I have also supplied it with optional subtitles for the lyrics. Loved this when it was a hit in Summer 73 and I was 11, great memories!
I've always been a Hoople fan, still listening to the songs, such a shame Buff and Pete Watts have passed on, but hey, the music lives on.....❤
Soundtrack of my youth. Thank you!!!!
Same
Released May 25, 1973. Peaked at No. 12 in the UK singles chart in July 1973.
Mott the Hoople is the soundtrack for my young 70's teen years.
Same...They were never really appreciated but SO GOOD
Absolutely love this band. 😀
Awesome love the hair
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS! THAT'S THE MOTT THE HOOPLE THAT I REMEMBER, WITH MICK RALPHS ON GUITAR, & IAN ON PIANO AT THE ZENITH OF THEIR EXCELLENCE!

I love Mott The Hoople.
They make me very happy !!
Guy at the jukebox at the beginning looks a lot like Mick Jones of The Clash!
Ian Hunter is such a cool dude 😎
Has more stage presence then jagger..
Cooler when he was in "Mott the hoople"...but still pretty cool solo ...but he does look extra cool in this video...👍🏻
Cooler than a penguin's flipper
I remember this from my teenager years. My best friend Carol and I had to have her mother explain the phrase "shirt shine". I still love it at age 62.

Interesting that this must have been recorded when Mick Ralphs was at the point of leaving MTH.

Verden left in January '73 and Mick in August...so it be between that I reckon...😀
Whoa blast from the past lol

@user-px1oq4jz2o - Yellow Monkey covered it in 1996 on the Japanese Mott tribute album "Moth Poet Hotel" which I produced.
They should have taken Bowie’s Drive in Saturday offer as it’s a better song but I guess they didn’t want to be seen as a total Bowie puppet.
Man, those awful effects on the vocals though!
When you say awful, do you mean awesome?
