    I love playing as Tantrum and getting Way of the Wild and Like a Kobold pretty early to get Hardy and Disable. Those are so useful throughout an adventure

    FYI, in that first encounter final round you should have ticked Rage up to 1.4 when attacking which could be used for 2 Bones. That combined with the 2 Bones you had in the Backup Plan meant you could have activated Axe Collector Backup Plan before the encounter ended to get 3 Axes. Then you could have saved the Fortunate Discovery for later or used it for a different consumable (I like saving it for more axes later when needed).
    In general, turns like the last one in the first encounter when winning was guaranteed are great for trying for certain Backup Plans/Innate+1 or other effects. Always play them out unless there's no chance for something good.

      Yep, sometimes it’s worth it to slow play the early battles to get a couple extra bonuses, like getting more components with Boomer or more slingstones with Nugget.

    That's was quite some fun to watch and educational as well, rule wise that is. I like your approach of streaming: just play your own game and get the chat only involved for rules issues. No discussions on strategy or tactics, you simply nailed Gendricks by yourself, well done! Upto the next episode...

    I’m prob wrong but dont believe the wolf killed you as you did not scout or swap treasure so therefore should have been on 6hp as you should have healed b4 encounter. No doubt you spot this later when you realise on a later day that you only have 5hp for some unknown reason. You then would have run away keeping pup between you and mum using axes on mum, hoping for shields on def die, and applying body count as soon as you were allowed to then run away further to keep more than 2 move from mum once bleed kicked in to hopefully outlast her and/or pup. You prob would have survived.
    Also you did not take any scout or other action on at least next 2 days.

    Really great playthrough. I just got recruited to play Tantrum at my friend's place, we had one adventure so far. BTW, you made an error at 1:41:10 - forgot to increase your rage when you attacked. would not have been as good a result! Tantrum is tricky 'cause you need to increase rage die just before rolling attack dice.

    Watching your playthrough now that I have played a couple of games myself makes much more sense 😅
    Besides I played Tantrum both times and it’s really refreshing seeing how many different paths he could go skills-wise.
    I’m going to try a Skirmisher-heavy build with way of the wild, cripple, strengthen and Innervate. The jump is so good: it lets you apply some damage to a target, jump next to another baddie and use the rest of your rolled atk dice on it 🤯

  • @wybird666
    @wybird666 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well done, great game. I think you messed up the timing of rage a few times but I don't think it materially mattered. That thick skin protection really helped you: not only did it change your strategy, but it allowed you to eliminate a couple of baddies in one shot. I think you were quite lucky with your rolls and the healing loot, but that's part of the game. You did make some nice tactical decisions in some of the games that really made a difference! Pat yourself on the back.

    Just one issue: if at the end of your turn your rage is at 2.0 or 3.0 (breakdown), then you go back to 1.0

    Could you not move adjacent to the orb to not take damage from it when rolling bones? :-) iirc it only damage gearlocks that is not adjacent

  • @PickleTheHutt
    @PickleTheHutt 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Final comment. In the Tyrant encounter you would likely have been better off in the last few rounds just killing the orb thing (to avoid Bones damage) and trying to defend as much as possible. By leaving the defense on Gendricks he's unlikely to roll bones to use Limit. Certainly if you don't roll enough damage to actually remove a health chip you should not use the attack dice (they're optional) as you're just increasing the chance for Limit with no benefit. You had enough healing to outlast him but you got really lucky by not rolling a Gendricks bone for the first 3 rounds.
    Taking Cripple would have made everything much easier as you can reduce how many dice the Tyrant rolls which is always important but especially in a battle with Gendricks as it will almost always be a fatigue round slog when solo.
    In round 2, I think you forgot to activate the Kobold (ini of 6) before your turn. He only rolls one die so probably wouldn't have had any real effect.
    Thanks for the playthrough! My son loves watching them with me. He was upset that bedtime interrupted it but I've promised to watch the rest with him tomorrow.

    In the battle around 1:19:00: with no skill dice available for the first round, wouldn't this also apply to the baddies? If so, then raiding and rage wouldn't take effect either?

    Shouldn’t the damage from bones because of the orb use up your shields instead of taking hp off? I don’t think it’s true damage. I could be wrong, though.

      I've asked my Patreon supporters....
      Gendrick’s Orb damage isn’t True Damage,
      at 2:38:36 you roll shields and bones at the same time, so don’t know if you could use shield then,
      Again at 2:42 you place the shields first then take damage from the Orb so they should have come off your shields first.
      Specifically on Gendricks orb it is applied during #6 Roll Phase so you apply the damage at any point and allowing to put shields up first if needed. Apparently an official ruling from Josh Carlson according to BGG but this is how I play it also
