Agreed, 759 is a steam engine that should disservice another chance.
NKP rr Berkshire 759 had a brief but impressive excursion service career, the most memorable trip was the "Golden Spike Anniversary" trip of 1969. Berkshire 759 is no longer in operating condition anymore unfortunately, but this engine was the star attraction of NKP rr steam excursions prior to the restoration of engine 765 in 1979.
I’m late on this video but I rate this 10/10! I obviously agree 759 should be restored!
And the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society should figure out the Firefox Issues just like they did with 2716. And it will be used by a different railroad instead of the 765.
@@anasiacameronelijahedcpndc4324um, 2716 is being restored by another group, the Kentucky Steam Heritage Corporation. They started the restoration process back in 2014, and the locomotive is slated to be restored next year, in 2023. They made a deal to run it on the Naugatuck Railroad in Southwestern Conneticut.
The new kids now are familiar with 765 but if you want to go back where it really started that was 759, She in turn was among the first excursion locomotives in use during late 60s and early 70s
When I start my own railroad I will start a steam program and 759 will be the engine.

I actually prefer 759 over 765 in some ways

759 was the original Berk, Thanks to what Ross Rowland and the High Iron Company did with it is the reason why 765 is running

Interestingly, 759 still had her original Bendix train radio cabinet on the tender deck. Wonder if it still worked?
Now, if I ever become a million/billionaire, I'm going to Scranton and I am finding out how to restore this locomotive as soon as humanly possible
I think Ross Rowland himself should have the locomotive back
759 walked, so 765 (and others) could gallop.
As much as I would love to have 759 running again, it just isn't necessary.
That being said, she deserves some attention, maybe not a full rebuild restoration, but a nice cosmetic upkeep on her would be nice; she deserves that much.

Just picked up a rivarossi American Railroads 759 in HO scale (for just $30 too) and I've been on a quest for info about her. I'd love to see her operationally restored and painted back into that gorgeous blue and gold ;)

As of 2022, it is still a static display piece at Steamtown NHS.
