@@AirCapitalHotRods doing it the right way a frame off lol. Hardest part is finding someone todo the welding work out here. It’s stripped down ready to come off frame and get blasted.
I had a 70 Malibu when I was 16 ; always hated the rear bumper and wanted 71 or 72 rear bumper with the round taillights that looked cooler this is next best thing.
I saw in a lower comment previous owner have replaced the old wire harness! So i am curious ,will a 70 wire harness have any issues like changing the light switch and is it plug and play !? Am aware you had LED issues ,so just looking for factory for now! Have been working on the same project and will keep the read 71 LOOK !!! Excellent Video
No. The chevelle had a new wiring harness put in by the previous owner and he left me all the bits and pieces that were left over (including the headlight plugs) so I just used that. I did have to wire it a bit different since my octane LED headlights have amber rings around them.
Good for you man build what you want! I like the 72 rear bumper too
Love it! Want to make mine the same way! Looks so much cleaner front and back.
I’m restoring my 1970 chevelle rn I can’t wait til it’s done
Doing a frame off or just fixing it bit by bit? I did a frame off on my c10 and it wasn't as fun as being able to drive it between phases.

I miss my '70 BB. nice work.

Chip Foose and I agree
Amazing video thanks 🌹
I got 71 chevelle wna do the same where I can find all the required parts fenders , pumper ...etc
I have a 71 chevelle ,and I’m seriously thinking of doing this so changing the fenders would be a must ?
Yes, they're slightly different.....I think where the headlight ("fender extensions") attach.
That's how GM should have done it, 4 lights in front, 4 in back
Ironically you now see more 70's on the road than 71
I don't disagree. I also saw a video of chip Foose saying something similar.
how did you wire the headlights? did you need to buy a new 1970 harness?
Great job 🔥🔥🔥🔥

If I remember correctly, the wiring kit was for 70-72, so you just wire it up for your year....or in my case, rewire it.
Okay will a 70 light wire harness plug and play into a 71 ? @@AirCapitalHotRods
Did you use the same wire harness for the headlights?
id like to know as well
can you put a 70 chevelle rear bumper on a 71 if so do you have any information or videos ..thanks
Much nicer !.Le Mans had double lights '70-'72.
Nice, look damn good....😎
What did it cost for the whole Front End Swap Project???
Looks like about $2300 for the new parts. But, I sold the '71 front end for $1000. IMO it was worth it!
Looks good. Did you use a new wire harness

Is it more simple to put a 70s front end on a 72 or is it easier to put a 72 rear bumper on a 70s...
Hi..great job
Im curious..do you have to change the fenders or is it possibly that it could work using the 71' fenders as well?
Thanks
71-72 fenders are different than 70 fenders. I'm not sure if they would physically bolt together, but it wouldn't look right.
What did you do with the 71 fenders?
I was able to sell them (and all the other 71 bits) and recouped about half of the cost of the conversion.
Great job. Really looks good. GM should've made it this way from the factory. One tiny bit of criticism....stop saying "uh" every third word.
Would you wanna change my front end on a 71 to a 70 for me ?
Love 1970 Chevelles, Hate, 71-72 chevelles, Great Job
I wouldn't say that I hate the 71-72 front end, but the 70 is much better
I got a 71 and front end looks too much like a monte carlo to me.
There’s a few things you can do to the 71 and 72 to really make the front end look better .like all clear side markers
😀🐍
