As a Clemson guy it almost makes me sick to even say or think it because there is nobody I dislike more than our in-state rival (even if we do overwhelmingly dominate the series historically), but as a College Football fan we have to be honest with ourselves. If we are picking the 12 best, and 12 most deserving teams, South Carolina is one of those teams. Especially when compared to Ole Miss or Alabama. The record speaks for itself, if the committee is being honest when it says they want the 12 most deserving teams, or 12 "best teams" if you are Florida State last year and they want to make an excuse to stick Alabama instead of you in the playoffs. SC is both of those right now. Head to head is meant as a last resort to compare EQUAL resume teams. H2H does not mean jack sh*t if the resumes are not comparable, and when two of your losses are to VANDERBILT and OKLAHOMA or KENTUCKY and FLORIDA you shouldn't be in because the resumes are NOT comparable. Not all losses are equal, it's truly that simple. Either on the field play matters to the committee, or it doesn't, and they will just insert whatever 12 teams they pre-selected before the season began and work backwards from their conclusions. The legitimately of this entire system and our sport we love is on the line.

Good for Clemson to sneak into the backdoor of the CFP. One can argue that South Carolina deserves it more. Both have the same record, but S. Carolina has played 6 ranked teams (won 3/Lost 3) while Clemson has played only two ranked teams (lost both)...AND, S. Carolina has the H2H win over Clemson. I know...too many SEC teams in it already? So, clearly, the CFP is NOT a list of the 12 "best teams".
I realize this is a condensed game, but why would ACC Digital Network completely cut out the RedZone 4th down STOP that the Gamecock defense got around the end of the first quarter to keep Clemson from scoring? That seems like a very important part of the game. Oh yeah, because that makes Clemson look even worse. What a joke.
Dabo is in the ACC championship game with an opportunity for a first round bye in the college football playoffs. There are only a small handful of coaches in the country who can say that. All other fanbases should be thankful that Dabo “fights” with one hand tied behind his back by not utilizing the portal. If Dabo ever chooses to untie that arm and make full use of the portal, putting himself on a level playing field with other coaches/programs, he would dominate the sport similar to Saban’s dominance with Alabama.
