- Primitive Sawhorse Diy: Cutting Firewood Off-grid! In this episode, I show you a typical day of work here at the cabin as I gather firewood for the winter. Autumn has arrived, and the colors of nature are changing. I'm alone on this side of the mountain, but as you'll see, I have some good company. Wolves!
Thanks for watching!

Feeling the magic, Alex! So much of Mother Nature's wonder all around, and so many wild animals. Awesome video! Thank You!❤
Truly enjoy your videos, the opportunity to see the animals and flora. If there is a will there is a way .
That camera trap is paying off, amazing to see how much wildlife is in the area.👍
Yes, this 4k quality camera produces really precise and clear videos. In fact, I might need to reduce the infrared rays because they illuminate too much in close proximity. I have invested and will continue to invest in new cameras for wildlife shooting. The goal is for this channel to showcase how humans and animals can coexist in their habitat, the Earth!
This brought me such peace after a frantic weekend. Grazie mille.
Grazie a te Mary!!
Indulging on Indian bread,, broccoli & green beans 👍
Hi, nice to see you again 🍻
Another great video of your life on the mountain
Thank you!😊
Thank you for dedicating your time to me!
You did a great job building the sawhorse. Too bad the rope you had available was the wrong kind, great idea though. Blessings.
Yes, it's a great idea for transporting firewood, but especially the stones I need to insulate the cabin. The slope here is very steep, so it's not easy to do anything, really. I'm doing some tests on the rope's placement; I was also considering steel cable, but... you'll see in the next video if I succeeded, lol!😅
This is my dream to one day own a property in italia
I hope it can be realized one day, I wish it for you! 🙂
Ciao Alex, e sempre un piacere vedere the wild life intorno tua capanna!
Great Video
Suggestion: don’t push and pull your chainsaw like a hand saw. Let the chain do the work. Allow the chain to pull the engine up to the limb or log, the dogs (sharp teeth next to the base of the bar) will dig into the wood. This will allow you leverage, by pulling up on the trigger handle… and make cutting MUCH easier. Let the saw do the work.
Thank you for the advice, I will definitely do it!
Thank you
Great Video !! :)
Thank You so much!!!
Thank you for posting your video Alex, it is so fascinating to see the wildlife. I cant believe you have wild boar and wolves around your home - livingin the UK it just feels incredible to see those creatues in the wild. Im also really fascinated by the region describing the management and husbandry of your land - what is the name of the trees that plant themselves, the invasive specie? Does the region encourage you to grow indigenous trees (what would those be? Walnut, chestnut?). Its just so fascinating to see how you manage your plot. You are doing a fantastiic job - as a prt time project I cant believe how much you have done already and how much you get done each time you are there. It makes me realise how much of my time I waste! :)
Hello! Thank you for your comment; it's always great to read your analyses of my videos (please, take care of your time!). To answer your question, I'm not sure about the specific species of the bush I cut, but even birch (you can recognize it by the typical white bark) is considered invasive in some parts of Italy. Birch, like other species of these trees that some of us call "crazy," grows very quickly, thereby shading out slow-growing ones.
This area is populated by beech and chestnut trees, and conifers in general. Once, around the cabin, in the 1950s, there were only pastures without trees, and then the wind populated the area, so to speak. The region provides guidelines on regulations, and it's up to individual landowners to keep the forest clean or not. However, incentives are managed by the Piedmont Region through authorized associations operating in the area ;)
Great to see you again! You gathered a nice pile of firewood, will that see you through winter?
Absolutely not 💪😅, I need at least 4 or 5 times that amount, so in practice, I have to fill that woodshed up to the door and full height. I try to work on everything, wood and cabin, at the same time, depending on the weather forecasts.
I don't kill animals,they are our guide 👍
I'm half native,half crazy,but 100 percent me🍻
They don't like it either,but they don't have a choice 👍
Any way, you have to respect a life for a life, would you want a deer come in & kill your kids?🤔
Respect for animals above all, they were here before us. And then, we must consume only what is necessary to sustain us, nothing more.
