Cid will always be the embodiment of "fuck around and find out" and I love that they extended this fight. It's funny how cid basically just dog walks iris for 2 straight episodes and makes fun of her for even having to use a mythril sword with enchantments on it and still being useless. Beatrix was the only one actually somewhat keeping up with him even with him not even using his full strength. He showed iris just how useless she was too and that's why she broke down.
Something I noticed is that he actually holds back even further whenever Iris was in the fight. when its just Beatrix he's pulling out the Frame skip thing where he's not even leaving an afterimage, and yet he isn't doing that once Iris barges in, except atop the tower where Iris hasn't caught up yet. which is even more amazing because Beatrix and Iris do fight very well together, not getting in each other's way, and with one following up on the other's attack.
The sad part is Shadow's assessment of Beatrix was that she ALMOST has sword skills on par with Shadow Garden, but her magic is lacking. That means they're both nothing compared to him at the end of the day.

Something else about this is Iris has never been weak before, never been humbled. She has always been a prodigy, always been considered strong. Shadow straight up tells her are you going to be worth remembering? She's never been so outclassed before. Beatrix is strong enough to get a sense of his true power. Iris doesn't even know enough to realize how big the power gap is.

Alexia understands just the insane gulf in ability between Shadow and everyone else, she understands it and realises she’ll never be that strong. But that’s the thing, Alexia is used to losing so she developed a stronger mentality in return, a mentality where she’ll keep trying regardless. Iris just sucks. She’s arrogant and is also a horrible leader. Willingly chose to get involved in a battle she had no business being in, especially since she already get absolutely destroyed by Shadow who wasn’t even trying to try. She willingly endangered the lives of the people she leads out of a sense of inferiority. She didn’t care about the property she destroyed, or the people that died as a result of the battle. She can’t think rationally, Alexia would make a much a better leader despite the fact that she can get reckless at times but she still maintains a sense of rationality

Not gonna lie, Shadow was just babysitting both of them cuz well, you know, he can even nuke the whole capital like it’s nothing. Yet, he just used a little bit of his magic while fighting with them and they didn’t even scratch his slime suit, leave alone touching him. It’s true that Beatrix cut his slime bonker but she couldn’t touch him either. And last, when he was about to leave, they stopped him and risk the entire capital of being nuked. Logically speaking, they almost destroy the capital. Oh right, I think we have forgotten one main problem too. Remember his slime suit? In the early episodes, he showed that slime has 100% of transmitting magic. He can change its shape as he wants. He didn’t have to move to kill those two, he can just do vampire attack with his slime suit or whatsoever. He has large amount of magical capacity so yeah. Just spam it.

"They"? More like Iris. Beatrix was seeing more and more throughout the fight that he held the upper hand so much that she'd lose.
Iris however, let her ego get the best of her and she's wallowing so deep in her "self righteousness" that she's even letting her powers loose throughout her own capital.
Iris for some reason seriously thinks Shadow is not that strong and he quickly showed her just how outclassed she was in that one moment. It was a rare moment of him getting pissed, and he basically made a statement of "do you realize just how much I was holding back?" to her.
It's also why Beatrix was so relived that the fight was over, but Iris just broke down like that. They stood no chance against him and he showed that by the end, resulting in 2 different reactions from the losers essentially.
If anyone was dumb, it was Iris cause she kept letting her anger get the best of her and kept making worse and worse judgements. As Shadow put it, she's a "wild animal" at that moment.

Dude the audio and sound design in this anime are on another level. The animation is also high quality. The story is entertaining as fuck as well if you're able to see past the surface. Most people think it's a power fantasy but it isn't because the MC isn't a bland filler blank he is too unique and cringe/edge lorde in the best possible way to be a self insert power fantasy character,

Looking at this episode again, I can't help but feel like Iri's father knows there's more to Shadow Garden and The Cult than they understand. Hence why he said "it would be foolish to step into that darkness unprepared". It's also why he told Iris to stand down, but her ego is getting the best of her too much. Hell, she thinks she can defeat shadow when Beatrix was struggling.... and Beatrix is stronger than Iris.
I get the feeling that his father is already planning to deal with the Cult but it is continually set back because of Iris' reckless and rash actions just to prove herself.

The girl with the cap bruh i swear,she talking all that smack about shadow but keep quiet about the girl characters,like they started the fight with shadow bruh.And shadow was in the battle arena to help them,but of course our little princess got triggered.
Yeah ikr, she always does this and also not only in this anime but mostly in other animes too, like I see some of her other reactions and even in those animes she's always mostly pissed at male characters no matter what or how small the matter may be and she's completely opposite when it comes to female characters like she will act like she is pissed off when female characters do something wrong instead of the male characters but she really just laughs it off and talks about this and that and starts talking about other stuff to kind of avoid sh#tting on them or talking about them or kind of really to just give her reaction on them. And this has always been mostly the case in most of the animes for quite some time that I can tell of cuz I have been watching her for quite some time now, like don't get me wrong, I like her reactions overall, but these are some of the details that I have been noticing for a long time that she has and does, and not that many ppl that watch her call it out so I am really glad that u did, because I think it's really not fair for her to act like that.
