    Sciatica is -no- joke. It’d some of the worst pain I’ve ever felt. It’s weird that I even found your TH-cam channel. I’m 54 years old with rheumatoid arthritis since the age of 16. Power lifting or strong man content isn’t my normal interest, but I caught your Sumo video and was hooked. Others have said it, but you’ve got a style reminiscent of Anthony Bourdain in the very best ways.
    Best of luck in healing, and I hope your training for the coming year goes smoothly. Great new travels loom ahead for you, and that means great videos for all of us!

    You’re still one of the best strongmen ever, especially with your WSM 2019 win against the strongest guys of the era at their peak! This victory is probably what caused a lot of your current injuries to become worse. But you’re also so much more than that, and it’s also important to know that you can devote yourself to your other passions outside of strongman. Come back to strongman when you’re ready to win Martins, and we’ll be here for all of your other journeys too!
    Edit: Because the magnitude of Licis’s WSM 2019 win is being debated in the comments, here’s an explanation: 1) Regarding Hadthor’s injury: this is something that’s been blown WAY out of proportion. A plantar fascial injury is not what most medical professionals would call a “severe injury.” Hafthor got injured very late in the competition, when he had stacked a lot of his points. Besides, injury is part of the sport, and if you get injured, that means you weren’t prepared to compete and win healthily. Hafthor also implies during his and Martins’s training leading up to WSM that Licis is stronger than him currently.
    2) Yes, many of the top guys during that year were at or near their peak: Brian had won WSM only 2 years before, Hafthor was at his physical peak for strongman, Mateusz was coming second in nearly every other major show and had nearly zero injuries. Then you had guys like the Stoltmans, Trey Mitchell, and JF Caron (who noted that Martins’s WSM victory was the most dominant of all time in terms of Finals points: 46/50). Martins is one of the all time greatest Strongmen, no doubt.

      @Micheldied 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      @@thomasrosendahl2783 he has won an Arnold's, and a Rogue Invitational. I'd say until before this Arnold's, he and Mitch were pretty even in total (obviously Mitch is the most impressive in the time in the sport), but Mitch is looking like he's going to dominate even more from now.

    excited to see you and Romark venture deeper into your creative journey. in addition to competitive strength, it would also be great to see you explore other aspects of what defines “strength,” whether on an individual or a collective level. I’m sure there are many examples of people and communities out there redefining what strength means in the face of adversity and change: from a political, artistic, social, health, spiritual perspective, and more. all the best!

    I know you guys have visited Scotland, and the video you did was great, but I feel you could do one much more in depth. Thanks for the hard work you both put in and good luck with your recovery!

    I love your guys' strength unknown series, the respect you have for every culture you visit reminds me of the greatness that was Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations. You and your team are true warrior poets and I love that you're leaning into that, because that is what the world needs. Truly humble role models are a rarity in this modern fast paced society, reminders to slow down, self-reflect, and be kind to others is the sort of message that needs to be heard. Thanks for all of your hard work.

    SOOOOOO Cheering for you. I love the Strength Unknown Series. I share them with everyone. I am 67 years old and have been a fan of strength since I was 12. I am retired now. I still push myself to workout. Now with Kettlebells, Bulgarian Bag, Steel Mace and Heavy Clubs. But what occupies my mind is the "Spirituality" of lifting. I feel that there has to be more to strength than physical ability. This spiritual pursuit in me connects with what you are wrestling with and doing.

    A great t-shirt design would be the moment, when you and the big Sumo took position against each other in the ring 💪🏻😎

    Martins, Strength Unknown is one of my favorite series on the entire internet, and I don't say that lightly. As a fan of strength and history of cultures, it combines so much into one. Please continue to explore this content around the world. I'd love to see Tibet! Its a very remote and neglected place in the world, but I'm sure you'll find much semblance of spiritual peace there. Good luck on your therapy!

    Appreciate your candid approach to where you are and what you are doing. I constantly see people wanting to figure out where they want to be the rest of their life from their teenage years. The longer I progress in my career, the more clear my vision of the future gets. I have a very clear vision for the future in my late 30s. I also find more fulfillment in helping others to succeed and being part of that journey along the way than mere individual achievement. Keep up the inspiring content. I believe it can help people with transitioning from on time in their life to another. 🔥🔥🔥

    Martins, I feel this so hard right now from a bit of a different angle. As someone who has “risen” as a technical strongman in the corporate sense, I’ve always felt that my work in app development and data science wasn’t fulfilling my broader creative side. And my current job in advertising certain wasn’t fulfilling my desire to contribute something meaningful to society.
    It’s not easy to step off the expected path into the unknown, but what this world needs is more people with that kind of sense and fewer people chasing dollars. Keep firing on all cylinders, dragon!

    You are creating something truly important with this series. In this age where we are all bombarded with shallow, vain content, Strength Unknown actually holds a deep purpose. I sense an influence from Anthony Bourdain and I know he would be proud. Thankyou for sharing so much culture with your audience and presenting it with such humility and respect. In a world of influencers you sir are an actual role model.

    You always looked and felt happy during strengh unknow episodes. That tells me all that I need.
    I'm excited about the new episodes! Tibet is wonderful!
    Thank you for sharing and remember, the greatest power requires the lightest touch. Being ourselves is effortless. Trying to be someone we are not is the hardest thing there is.
