Hmmm I've never asked nor heard anyone ask that here in the states. Usually we ask, " do you have any siblings?" Then the answer is either, "I have an older or younger sibling." Or "I'm an only child."

The reason why it’s challenging to translate that question in english, is because we don’t really ask the question that way in english, for it would sound unusually long. The way I would ask the question would be, “Are you the youngest among your siblings?”. The person you are asking would either say yes or will give you the number of the order of his or her birth 🥂😊

Yeah! That is the right one to say, but let me tell you my experience, I've been here in Canada for almost 6 years, most Canadian doesn't use the proper way of speaking in english as well.
So they're like asking you "Do you have sisters/bros"? I'm like " Yeah! I have 2bros and 2 sisters"
"Are you the oldest or youngest"? That is how they simply ask you, no nosebleed or anything lol
Its not that people don't use proper sentencing structures, its just that it has an awkward flow or the words just dont fit in certain tagalog words

Normally, i ask "Are you the eldest among the siblings (of your parent ofcourse)". Then, they normally answer if not, will follow up by their ranking in their birth order.

I know this video is old, but I've never once had a reason to ask this question. Let's be honest, most people have 1 or 2 siblings, and you never need this question unless you're talking to someone with more than 3 siblings. 4+ siblings are pretty rare. 5 is practically unheard of. I've met one7 sibling family. Also if someone tells you the order, do you count oldest to youngest or youngest to oldest? In conclusion, lol, it's normally just deduced by explaining how many siblings are older and how many are younger, or you'd ask what's the order, where do you fit into things, what number are you. You'd just make something up, and then you'd go another decade without needing to ask the question again.
